Grip Trex™ Dog Boots

rugged, breathable

Color

Selected: Obsidian Black

I need

The Grip Trex dog boots set the standard in paw wear for dogs who hike, bike, run, or explore the great outdoors with their humans.

With the Grip Trex, those paws can go the distance thanks to the rugged and resilient Ruffwear-designed Vibram outsole with exceptional traction and protection on varied terrain. Breathable mesh upper provides ventilation, and the closure system combines hook-and-loop with hardware, cinching around the narrowest part of the dog’s leg to provide a secure fit.

It's a good idea to check the closure system and adjust fit as needed 15 minutes into your activity and throughout the adventure. Getting started with Ruffwear boots? Check out our helpful tips.

Set of TWO boots. Many dogs have wider front paws than rear paws. We offer our boots in sets of two so you can order the appropriate sizes for a good fit on both the front and rear paws.

    Serious Paw Protection

These are my go-to booties for my service dog when the pavement becomes too hot or when I need to protect his feet from used needles, broken glass, or other urban hazards. My previous service dog's Grip Trex lasted 7 years' worth of scorching summers and year-round hazards, so they certainly last. The bottoms are a lot more hardy than the Hi & Light shoes that I have (which I also use and like), so I grab the Grip Trex for hot pavement and the Hi & Light for warmer-than-ideal pavement. I also like that there is reflectivity on these Grip Trex, which some styles don't have. One MAJOR drawback for me is that the Grip Trex DON'T have the size imprinted on the bottom of them like Ruffwear's other styles have. I hope that future versions include the size, because it makes it very easy to use if your dog has two different sized boots. (pro tip: buy two separate colors for the two separate sizes, and this will save you time and frustration for figuring out which is which). I have also found that this style makes my dog's feet sweatier than the Hi & Light. Both styles have their uses.

    A must have for backpacking

I bought these boots for a recent backpacking trip. Most of the trip was shaded forest and my dog just carried them in her pack. When the terrain switched to rocky and hot I was soooo glad we had them. These boots stayed on, kept her cooler, and protected her paws. I was very grateful for the piece of mind that I had them to keep her paws protected and to help in the event of any paw injuries.

    Boat shoes

If watching my pup prance around while getting used to those shoes wasn’t worth the full price, saving my boat seats

And sea decking is worth the price of these shoes. He’s getting used to Wearing them Now. They fit really well and are made

To hold up. Would recommend them to friends.

Best fitting dog boots on the market

My dog has a neurological degenerative disorder that has affected use of his back legs. These boots are a life saver for us. He has to wear boots on his back legs all of the time to avoid sores on his feet from dragging his legs behind him. These are by far the best fitting dog boots on the market. We use the Grip Trex when we travel because they are a bit more durable than the Summit Trek which are our everyday boot. These withstand my dog's wear and tear a bit longer. His condition has worsened that we blow through a pair of boots every two weeks because his drags his legs behind him. We have been very happy with these boots.
