dissapointed

Would you recommend this product?.: No

Was thrilled with the idea of water container and drinking bowl being all in one and it is a genius idea, unfortunately the cap doesn't seal and leads to one wet pack and unfortunately not an option for hiking. I leave it in the trunk of my car now, since it can stay flat there it won't leak. Hope to see this concept approved upon in future generations, for now, I'd skip buying this bowl,

Great Product

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Have had it, used and abused it for a some 3 months now and it works really great, no leaks whatsoever. The only comment would be that it's nearly impossible to wash and dry on the inside which can lead to mould build up, just as in early human hydration packs.

Great idea, poor execution

Would you recommend this product?.: No

It has leaked all over my backpack both times I tried to use it while hiking. I tightened the seal over and over but with a modest amount of pressure (like you get when you pack your backpack, or even leave it in the trunk) it pushes water out through the edge of the valve -- not through the valve itself. Have to return it.

Bad

Would you recommend this product?.: No

When I saw this I thought it would be amazing. When it arrived I was impressed with the design and materials but that was it. It leaks every time I have used it. I've gone to just using a water bottle and a collapsable bowl. I would not recommend buying this product!

Excellent design, function & versatility

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Hi everyone, my name is Julie Mae. I'm a year and a half old Australian Blue Heeler & I got a new favorite thing from my dad (he's typing this for me cause I drool on the keyboard too much). I love to catch frisbees, run & hike with my dad so I was super excited when he got me the Bivy Bota to carry with me in my approach pack. The first one I got leaked but my dad told Ruff Wear & they went & fixed it for me!!! I've been running, jumping & even fell down a few times with my new Bivy Bota in my pack but no leaks, it works perfect!!! My dad says it's super easy to use & I love being a big girl who carries her own stuff. Now I've got everything I need when we go out on our next hike in the mountains.

So - So

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

This is a great bowl and really very clever. I haven't had any leaking problems. However, my pup can't seem to figure out that this is a bowl. with water. for drinking. He seems to think it's some sort of huge frisbee. Will be giving this to a friend, who hopefully has a smarter dog.

2nd Try W/A New Bota - Still Leaks

Would you recommend this product?.: No

As promised I gave the Bivy Bota another try. I returned the 1st one I bought after it leaked & bought another one in hopes it was an isolated flaw. 20 minutes down the trail water had somehow leaked from the inner bladder and was visible under the orange exterior fabric. 10 minutes later it had permeated the exterior fabric soaking my dog's pack. Fix the leak & it gets 5 stars.

Leaks!

Would you recommend this product?.: No

Pretty disapointed. I got this for my dog who drinks a ton of water to have in the car. Even the slightest angle, and it leaks all over the place.

Great Idea - Faulty Material &/or Manufaturing

Would you recommend this product?.: No

This is a brand new product & my experience may be a fluke & or a production kink Ruffwear is working out. I did contact Ruffwear to verify that my usage of the the product was within it's intended parameters. I purchased the Bivy Bota to use with my dog's Ruffwear Approach dog pack. It fit perfectly inside Julie Mae's XS Approach pack. I did have to leave it about 1/2 empty in order to keep it light enough to counter balance with the contents on the other side of the pack (Ruffwear might consider making a smaller size in regards to this particular application). The function of the bowl on the top of the product is a great idea & works perfectly..... All that said the 1 & only flaw the product has makes it almost completely unusable. After less than an hour of walking with the Bivy Bota in my dog's pack I noticed that the pack was wet. I checked the lid which was firmly in place & found that the material the product was made of was seeping water. I'm not sure if it was at a seem or if the material itself is permeable, whatever the case may be it resulted in quite a bit of water leakage. My pet store owner experienced the exact same thing (in her backpack unfortunately). I'll give the product another shot in the event these were isolated occurrences & update my review.
