Buddy the Surfdog, a nine year old Jack Russell Terrier,  has amazed and entertained beach goers along the Ventura and Santa Barbara beaches in California for years. Weighing in at 15 pounds, it is rare to find a day when Buddy is not surfing alongside his Californian human counterparts.

Buddy performs his surf act tandem and solo, on short boards, long boards, boogie boards, and skim boards—if it floats, he can ride it! This surf-riding canine has appeared on several pages of “The Dog’s Guide to Surfing” and has made appearances in Sports Illustrated for Kids, The New York Times, The London Sun, and the Santa Cruz Sentinel.
