Beautiful, Sturdy, Multi-purpose
Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!
I purchased this harness for a 5 month old golden retriever puppy in our service dog program who suffered a serious tibia fracture. He had orthopedic surgery at MS State Vet School Hospital by a board certified orthopedic surgeon. He has to wear an external fixator for 8 weeks and be on restricted activity. We must follow surgeon instructions if he is to continue with his service dog training when hardware is removed. We decided to try the harness as an aide in controlling his weight bearing and assisting in loading and unloading the car as well as going up and down the home steps.
What a beautiful well made harness! It is exactly what we needed. It is sturdy with no fear of the harness giving way and allowing injury. We are so pleased with it that we are going to use it for some of the hesitant puppies in training for loading and unloading cars and elevator. We are also going to use it for safety on the ramp tower and other agility training equipment.
Highly recommend!

Good
Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!
Sturdy and works well to stabalize, lift, and support. I'ts helpful that it is all one piece so the rear lift does not fall. We tried other lift harnesses that did not work nearly so well. Because we use the harness for a dog with DM not for hiking, it would be much more useful it were lighter and if the fasteners were quick release clips.

I am an RVT at a local veterinary hospital in Oklahoma and bought this harness to assist my geriatric GSD who has trouble getting around. The harness is designed in a way that the straps at the back part of the harness helps to support her rear limbs when attempting to stand. The handles have been a tremendous help getting her up and down steps. I keep it on her while checking for any signs of abrasions from the straps and there are NONE! Highly recommended.

I bought this as a lifting harness for my Weim who now has bad knees, is too old for surgery and uses a wheel chair to get around. She can walk but collapses easily so this harness is great for lifting her and distributing her weight in way that does not cause too much pressure. Of course it's a technical harness so this is not an easy off and on but it is a great harness and I would definitely recommend it.

brilliant
Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!
I have a 7 month old Newfoundland who has elbow and hip (tpo) surgery and found that the sling the vets provided was useless for me.
I initially put adog lifejacket on him to help support him because of the top handle made it so much easier to control his movements and help rehabilitate him.
we started looking at harnesses but due to the nature of his surgery we wanted one with a belly support and came across this one . Its nice that the rear leg straps fit in a pouch at the back as we cant use those due to the incisions in his leg and groin area.
He has been wearing this harness for nearly two weeks now continuously and it has been a godsend. I purchased mine in a sale so got a great discount but even then it was pricey. I would have liked an option to add quick release buckles but understand due to the nature of its intended use this wouldnt have been viable.
Overall it has helped rehabilitate my puppy and has also saved my lower back . the strap on the top is really heavy duty and it needs to be as max is already 55kgs in weight and still growing.
I can see this will be eventually utilised by all my dogs , a good product which works well for us

We purchased this for our older dane to help him up and move around. He is 11 years young and showing signs of wobblers. It's for hiking we know but we thought we would give it a try anyways. It has given him more confidence to walk around on his own without help. And it is easier for us to help him up/around should he need it. He loves it so much he gets mad if we take it off. Would recommend for helping older dogs as well as it's intended hiking purpose.

I have a 15.5 yr old male corgi with arthritis in his right hind leg. He has a great deal of trouble using that leg and I was straining my knees and back by picking him up to move from room to room in the house and carrying him up and down stairs. I loop a strap thru the back handle to help him walk to do his business and use the main handle to pick him up. I love this harness, very high quality.

I wanted to use this for our senior collie. I did spend quite a bit of time adjusting and finally figuring out to put the dog's right leg through the front loop to center it at her chest. Lifting her up with both handles was super easy, and I didn't have to strain my back. However, she was panting on our short walk, and I'm guessing it's the added weight. So, if your dog is already weak, and you are using for support in disabled dogs, consider if your dog can handle the extra weight. I will go back to a lighter support harness made of neoprene. Hey, but my dog looked really good in it! And I was ready to be an expert at putting that harness on her in record timing!

I tried several different methods for helping my dog stand up when he developed arthritis and this harness worked the best of all. Not only was I able to help him stand but it made it easier to lift him into the car on trips to the vet. I was also able to use it with his wheelchair to give his hind end a little extra support while he walked. I highly recommend this harness to anyone whose older dog suffers from arthritis in his lumbosacral vertebrae.

I looked carefully at the website pictures, there is about an inch between the guy's hand and the end of the strap. No way! The harness we received I can only get three fingers comfortably into the handle area. My wife is only 5 ft and the handle is tight on her hand. There is no way I can get a grip on this harness sufficient to lift a 150lb mastiff. I could try tying ropes to the thing but that sort of defeats the whole purpose. Try making the product stateside, our people are bigger, they make bigger handles. Sorry, it goes back.

Fantastic!

My dog Jack seriously injured his left rear leg and had to undergo a bilateral TPLO a few weeks ago. Until his injury, Jack had been a top notch sled dog, very strong, very very fast. After his surgery, I needed a way to move him (he weighs 75 lbs, large for a sled dog) easily. He was already used to wearing a pulling harness so this harness was easy for him. I can lift him up and down stairs with both hands, one on the front handle, one on the back. While Jack will never be able to run like he did, I will still be taking him out for extended trips (after he heals) and this harness will be perfect for the kind of scrables we do on Mt. Hood

My dog also has seizures, and helping navigate around during his wobbly post-ictal time is difficult. We have other harness that we use when he's more stable, but this one supports his chest and belly - the other one doesn't. It's hard to put the harness on because of the double-back closure, but that's what makes it non-slip. It would be great if there were a cinch kind of closure, but that might not be secure enough for the dog that likes to go mountain climing and rapelling :-)
This is the only harness on the market that supports your dog's body. Why aren't all harnesses like this??

I read a lot of comments about difficulty to put harness on, but that's the whole point: this harness is made exactly as human climbing harnesses: safe enough to lift your dog in the harness when climbing or hiking. Clips won't do for that, it's just not safe enough!
So please, leave it this way. There are beautiful other harnesses with clips (Web Master harness, we have that one as well and is great for just that extra helping hand for you dog... but not lifting great heights)

Well-made
Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!
I purchased this product to help support my 100lbs Pit mix, Morgan. She recently began having seizures and has been diagnosed with brain and bone cancer. In an effort to make her remaining time as enjoyable as possible, I needed a harness to help her around in her unstead post-seizure state. I had used another harness my father has for his dog from a different company but the buckles allowed the straps to slip loose when strained. The Double-back harness has a wider, padded surface area in case you need to lift your dog and the straps will not slip at all. That said, the other harness had clips which made is much easier to get on when she was unable to stand after her seizure. I think this is a great product but would ge outstanding if they could combine the ease of clips with the stability of the straps. I also love that the rear legs straps store in the front zipper pocket when not in use. I haven't needed them yet but they are always accessible if I do. I am choosing four rather than five stars just because of the difficulty in putting this harness on. Other than that, it is very well made. (I do think it is a bit overpriced, however, but the companies all know we will spend anything on our dogs so I am sure that won't change!)

I am using the harness to help my 90 + lb. dog walk since her back legs have given out on her, it would be nice if this version came with the quick clips since it takes several trys to get the harness on and fitted correctly since she cannot stand on her own. The chest plate helps support her and the back leg support helps a lot too. I don't like to leave the harness on while we are gone since I am afraid that she might get it caught on something and hurt herself to get loose. It it is hard to put it on and take if off several times a day so I am using it as a backup for another harness that does have the quick release clips.

My beagle underwent surgery for a herniated disc which affected the use of limbs during recovery. The harness was recommended by his vets and was a life saver. It is so well built, sturdy, and the quality of the stitching is excellent. For our purposes, it would have been more helpful if the attachments were clips rather than the current attachments. But I still love it and it may become his harness for everyday walking..very stylish!

The design and build quality is excellent with reservations. I bought the harness for my 125 lbs dog who was going for surgery on his ACL and would need extra help lifting his hind end while recovering. His measurements were well within the sizing guidelines provided, but it did not fit him properly. The main harness fit very snug and probably n ot the way it was designed to fit. The portion designed for going around the hind legs was not adjustable for the dogs body length and it definately should be since it did not fit him. Overall, looks cool but totall unsafe for my dog.

I purchased this product so I could take my dog out when I go playing on the rocks rappelling and the like. The ft and trim shows a great deal of attention to detail.
As a Search and Rescue professional, our local team had the opportunity to employ this harness on an opparational task. A choclate Lab (Miley) had slipped fallen down a 10 meter cliff into a cold river. We lowered a rescuer down and even though the dog was wet, scared and cold, the ease of use allowed for a rapid fitting and subsequent raise of the dog to safety. This alone made the harnesss worth it's weight in gold.

My dog is ~50lbs and she loves to go climbing with me. Especially slab climbs, she can usually stay low and hop up alongside me. Until the harness, I've had to gerryrig up harnesses for her out of slings and caribeaners. They work and are safe, but not very comfortable if she has to take a fall. I'm so glad someone finally designed a weight-rated harness for those of us who like to have their dogs accompany us and not have to worry about improper equipment.I also drive an topless Jeep with the dog in the back and never felt comfortable tying her down with traditional harnesses. Now when I buckle her into the seatbelt, I feel safer knowing that the harness is not going to be the weakpoint if there were ever an accident.Awesome! It's about time someone made a harness targeted beyond just assisting elderly or disabled pups!

Our 13 year old St. Poodle has hip dysplasia that is steadily crippling him. We bought the harness to use when he falls or needs help getting up. He's worn it 24/7 since we put it on him. It was a little tough figuring out how to get it on the first time, but it's helped tremendously with helping him get up and preventing him from falling. I was looking for a good support to lift him with and the wide padded chest plate is perfect. The rear straps slip a little on him, but the convenience and help for him is worth the effort to adjust them. HIgh quality, well made product, as are the two dog back packs we also own. I am a professional dog trainer and also do a massage-type body care for animals. I have already recommended this harness and the back packs several times.

Excellent

My 13+ year old Belgian Tervuren ruptured a disc in her upper spine and had surgery to repair it and a separate, arthritic protrusion in her lower spine. The recovery is ongoing, and she still cannot walk on her own. This harness has been indispensible in my assisting her both on level ground and up and down two flights of stairs four times daily. For dogs recovering from surgey, I recommend rigging a lead to the rear support and a cloth collar through the front support as a handle extension. Attaching a 6' lead to front eyelet and wrapping a few revolutions around the rear support places the handle of the lead at a comfortable height for negotiating stairs. In this configuration, you can support your dog up stairs from slightly behind without stooping and risking your own back injury. It is much like handling a weed trimmer; a bit inelegant, but gets the job done.

This product is made well but it wouldn't be recommended for a dog going through therapy, use for postoperative assistance or trauma patiets. It is not comfortable for a dog to wear it for long periods of time especially under the arms/legs. It is a strong harness for lifting so those of you that just need to lift your dog, it would work ok.Recommendation with limitations.

Awesome!
Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!
The design and quality are superb and should provide many years of service; perhaps a lifetime of service if used as a typical non-technical harness. My only hope for future designs is to allow the rear leg webbing to be detached from the harness. Companies that are this thoughtful with their designs and include such a meticulous eye towards craftsmanship and quality are few and far between. Keep up the great work!

Our 4 yr old female golden injured herself romping with our older male. The injury resulted in a detached ACL on her left rear leg. Surgury was required to repair her leg. We are using the harness for better control and to provide her assistance as she recovers. She wears the harness 7x24 as she recovers. The front loop works great as a tie point for her anti-scratch collar so she can't reach her stiches. When we take her out to walk we use the same lift point for her leash. Post recovery we will continue to use the harness for any assistance going up the stairs into our RV when we travel and camp. Sturdy well constucted harness, the handle is great for a quick grab point for immediate control when needed.

Even my dog is small, it fits nicely. She is a very active dog so I take her everywhere, she loves her new harness. I guess it makes her feel safe.

My eight year old dog Bailey was just recently diagnosed with severe hip dysplasia and I didn't want her to not go places with me because of it. She will be having total hip replacement surgery in the next six months but in the meantime I wanted her to have as much mobility as possible. I won't take her on too many long hikes until after the surgery but until then the harness is great. The best part is the rear handle above the hips. I can lift her up onto anything without her being in pain when trying to use her own strength. I will continue to use the harness even after her surgery and we can do the great hikes we used to do in Colorado.

lacking adjustment
Would you recommend this product?.: No
I wanted to love this harness, but I dont. It just doesnt fit correctly on long bodied dogs. There is no length adjustment for the rear part of the harness so the handle sits too high on his back

great!

My 90-lb. pit bull lost his front right leg to cancer almost three years ago. This harness allowed him to go with me on his first hike since the amputation! It stays put even on a front leg amputee and doesn't spin around his torso like other harnesses. This one is easy to put on, even when he was lying down.
