Our shorthair is like his breed sounds..little hair and no body fat. My husband uses him for upland bird hunting in eastern Oregon (pheasants and chuckers) and he's my running partner in the morning. Short hairs are difficult to fit because they have a big girth with small withers and a small topline. this coat is great since you can cinch it up. We have one of them, and I am going to purchase another one. Ruffwear has exceptional quality as well. /////Yes

I did have a little problem with sizing. The sizing chart said to size up for in between sizes. I went with the larger size (a medium) and the back part of the coat stood straight out at the sides and looked like wings! So I exchanged it for a small, which fits the over the body very well (a bit shorter from the tail though), but what seems strange to me is how much smaller the neck opening is. If Lakota has her collar on, it doesn't fit over that very easily and it seems to be really tight around her neck./////Yes

Great product but the short hair of my boxer gets stuck in the fleece lining and then it pokes him and he gets very uncomfortable. Other than that it is a great product./////Yes

I bought a medium for our Shepherd mix since she has had knee surgery and they shaved her back end. She really needs a large (too short). But the coat fits my Lab mix except for the neck. There is no way to adjust the neck opening to allow for thick fur or thick necks. Elastic that would stretch or an adjustable strap would make this a perfect coat. I will order a large for the Shepherd and cut a slit in the smaller coat for the Lab mix./////Yes

It is hard for me to find coats that fit my dogs because they have a big girth with small withers and a small topline, but this coat is perfect for them because it can be adjusted. The quality is excellent and they last forever. I bought one for my older dog 4 years ago and it still looks like new. I bought one for my 14 week old puppy and he loves it!/////Yes

We got this coat for our 65lb GSP, Cooper. He is your typical GSP w/no body fat, HUGE chest & very narrow waist. After undergoing knee surgery this summer, he lost some weight (not that he had much to spare!) & we are finding the cold is taking a toll on him! We purchased the coat so it would keep him warm in the frigid WI winter, & dry in the rain. We walk or go to the dog park every day all year long; no matter what the weather! We especially like how easy it is to get on & off, & the reflective strips are perfect since Cooper is a black & white GSP & hard to see at night! We thought it would be more difficult to find the right fit for his size/body type, since his chest is so huge, but a medium fits him perfectly!!!/////Yes

I have a golden retriever puppy who is 55 lbs and fits the K-9 overcoat in a Large size perfectly. It's easy to put on/off and it keeps her dry during the raining season. It took a few days for the dog to get used to it but now she is fine with it./////Yes

We previously tried the Cloudchaser because it seemed to have more 'undercarriage' protection. Unfortunately our dog found it very tight at the neck and uncomfortable, she would often roll and rub against anything she could. It eventually ripped. This coat however is a great fit and appears very comfortable. The material is great and it goes on very easily./////Yes

Nice coat, that is easy to put on and keeps my dog warm. The only problem is if your dog has long hair on their stomach like mine, snow and ice builds up as the coat does not cover that area. Other than that, this is a nice coat./////Yes

While I'm a fan of Ruff wear products, becuase of their overall design and quality, this coat is not the case. I have a very active dog that likes to run around and sniff everything. He has very short coat and no hair in the "armpit" areas or belly/genital areas. While I like the fact that this coat is waterproof, the material is a bit too stiff and when my dog put his head down to sniff the ground, the whole back side lifted up exposing him to all the elements. AI do like the fact that it has the chest/belly extension, but it simply does not go far enough to provide sufficient coverage for dogs with naked bellies. Because of the design, it does not trap the heat around the core of the body from which the warmth emits. I hope they modify this jacket in the future so the chest strap extends further and the part which wraps around the back is wider, covering more area, therefore keeping the dog warmer. /////No

I feel there is better out there only if you want a custom made jacket and don't need it in a hurry. The only complaints I have is it is tight in the neck and about 4 inches to short in back length. The overall appearance (need more color choices) and design are good especially the auto-lock buckles and the chest protector portion. Worth the money./////yes

This jacket looks custom fit and our dog prances in it. The quality is fantastic and will last for years, unlike other jackets that didn't perform after a month./////yes

Well-made coat, easy on and off. Helps our dogs stay warm enough hiking in the foothills/mountains when temperatures drop below freezing. Originally bought medium-sized coats since our dogs' 29 inch girth is in the middle of the girth measurement for a medium coat. The coats looked ridiculously small on the dogs so so we switched to large, which was the right size. It would be very helpful if the website provded full measurements of the coats (including length), not just the girth, to help figure out which coat will fit right. Also, would like the tummy flap to extend further or include another buckle toward the back of the coat to help hold the coat tighter against their backs since it lets in the cold air when they sniff the ground. /////yes

This jacket is great! We have an XL jacket for our roughly 90 lb. lab. It keeps our dog warm in the cold MN winter, and he quickly got used to it. The only issue I would raise is that the neck hole seems a little small for larger dogs. The rest of the fit is fantastic, but sometimes I feel like Toby is putting his head down for comfort. However, if we let out the straps, then the chest protection dangles. The smaller neck hole just seems a little awkward for our large-necked, barrel-chested lab. Otherwise, I would highly recommend the RuffWear products. Thanks!/////yes

Daisy's K-9 Overcoat came today and she is wearing it now. Daisy is a very active beagle so the coat fits her perfect. She is able to run and jump...no sleeves holding her back. It is so easy to put on and take off. From a mom's point of view, Daisy looks great in red.Louise, my other beagle, is wearing the Cloud Chaser and this coats fits her perfect. She needs the sleeves for extra warmth.Louise's WebMaster harness goes right over her coat and the Easy Walk harness will go right under Daisy's coat (Daisy is my puller). Life can't get any better than this when I walk my girls./////yes

This coat fits like it was custom made for my big bodied Pit Bull. He is broad in the chest and has a thick neck, and it fits perfectly. It's also just the right length to cover his tail end. He seems to be very comfortable in it and he looks very handsome as well. It's easy to put on, and the straps and tabs are well designed and durable. I would definitely recommend this to someone with a Pit Bull breed./////yes

We live in the mountains, where it sometimes gets very cold, so Pete needed a little extra for winter walks and late night pee breaks. We considered fleece, but thought the hard shell would shed burrs and such a bit better. /////yes

Ruffwear is known for durability, and the K-9 overcoat is no exception. Waterproof outer layer, fleece under layer keeps my dogs warm and dry while out hiking. Fits OK, except for my 30 pound Pinscher Mix. She is too large for an XS, but the Small is a bit loose on her. It would be nice if future models added a mock turlte neck.Colors are horrbile, but the dogs don't seem to care. Over all a good dog coat./////yes

Very nice quality and looks great too. Easy to get on. I don't normally put a coat on my dog but since she's nearing fourteen and we walk daily in the cold I figured a little extra protection from the cold would be nice. She seems to love it and I love that it's made of recycled material. /////yes

It's really easy to put on and take off of Daisy. I'm not too thrilled with the way it collects the dog hair. It might be the way it moves when she runs and plays. My wife has to use our Bissell dog friendly sweeper to get most of the dog hair off of the coat.It does wash up nicely. Daisy is very active and she does get it dirty. I do recommend this coat but if you don't want to put up with the shedding, I suggest buying the Cloud Chaser coat. Our other beagle, Louise, wears the Cloud Chaser and it is perfect./////yes

Taddy is about 65-70 pounds, muscular, and loves to run around, constantly sniffing things. We've had an inordinate amount of snow (for us) lately, and the temperatures have been colder than normal (in the negatives) so I decided to get him a coat. The large fits well, its a little bulky in the front (probably because of his shorter chest) but it doesnt seem to bother him, fits well, and does keep a good bit of his belly clean, which is nice since they salt/sand our roads everytime we get a 1/4 inch of snow. It dries quickly, I havent washed it yet but I do like that it is washable!/////yes

I have a mutt and it's difficult to find jackets that will fit her without having to try them on. I was able to order this jacket online because it has enough flexibility in the chest/neck/front legs area to accomodate all different sizes and builds. I also selected this jacket because it clips rather than velcros, therefore being more durable for a dog that's very active, like mine. My one complaint is that while the girth fits very well, the length was a little short. It doesn't quite cover all the way down to her butt./////yes

We are having a very cold winter in dc area this eyar - lots of mornings in the 10's and 20's windchill, drizzle, snow etc. This keeps my german shephed nice, warm and dry, looks smart, and takes like a second to put on him. He is very comfortable wearing it too. Very satisfied./////yes

This is a great little overcoat, soft fleece inside, and a waterproof soft shell with reflective stripes. Very easy to get on & off, especially with a little wiggle worm like my Charley. He's never worn clothes before, but this doesn't seem to phase him. I think he feels like a super hero in it!/////yes

Provides good protection from wind and rain. Our ridgeback is 123 lbs. and the XL fit well except a little snug in the neck. It would be nice to have a way to adjust the neck opening. It is very easy on and off and provides unrestricted movement./////yes

This is a little big in the chest of our girl and I wish it was longer to cover her back end. It does a great job of keeping out rain/snow and wind, and it super quick to put on and adjust. Overall, this is a good product, but just isn't made for long, skinny dogs./////yes

This is a high quality made product and I love that it is ecofriendly. My only complaint is that although this coat fits my dog's chest/torso well, it is too short and just makes it to his hip bones. So his backside gets wet in the rain. He may be longer than average, but maybe the length of the coat could be included in the sizing./////yes

For some reason this year my dog Max lost his under coat. Everytime he woudl go out he would just shiver so I got him a coat. He loves it! He is now warm and happy like the rest of the pack./////yes

Great winter coat for cold/wind, love the over the head (no picking up or messing with dirty muddy paws to get it off), BUT...in deep snow, when my guy needs it most, the chest portion fills with snow and traps the cold right next to his vital organs. The inside of the overcoat then gets wet and crusted with ice, and he gets cold. /////yes
