Amazing!!!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Our black lab gets colder than out other dogs either early in the morning, in the snow/rain & riding in the bed of my truck. This jacket helps tremendously! Will be buying other items as needed so all our dogs can be comfortable all year round!

Our go-to winter jacket

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

We've used this for two winters and especially this winter, which has been brutal in Chicago. The jacket goes on easily, repels precipitation, and seems to be very comfortable. We get lots of compliments and comments about it at the dog park. I will even say that mud washes off. The only issue is the drip drying-- we might need another one for when the first one is drying! After two seasons, it shows no sign of wear. This jacket is a great deal.

Works exactly as designed

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Got this to help keep our lab mix warm on long winter hikes, especially to the Lake Superior ice caves (which we have done 3 times this year). Per the sizing chart, I ordered a medium for our 50# dog. His chest measurement was on the smaller end of the range for that size but it fits great with the straps snugged up most of the way. It definitely helps keep him warm, doesn't seem to rub anywhere, and keeps the snow off his chest and back. Great product.

My canine companion(s): 80lb mixed breed

Very good

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

My long haired dog had to be shaved for surgery during -10F outdoor temps. I got him this and a Climate Changer for wear outside. They fit well and don't slide around. He finds them comfortable as well. They wash quite well since he's been in the mud with them now that it's warmed up. His hair is starting to grow back, and temps are warming up, but he'll continue to wear these jackets for a while. I have the clip on light for use at night as well. It makes him easy to spot in the yard.

Date of Review: 3/3/2014

We kick up our paws in: Carlisle, PA

My canine companion(s): Beagle / Lab mix

Excellent

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

This jacket very well may have saved my dog's life! I decided to go on a short hike with Kooper on the Appalachian Trail for a couple hours this past week. It was cold, in the high teens to low 20's. I put the jacket on him and let him off leash like I usually do when far enough away from roads. He always stays within a reasonable distance from me and always comes my way when I call him. About 30 minutes into the hike, he catches the scent of some animal and just takes off. Out of sight and barely within earshot, I panicked. This was around 330 and I only had a couple hours of daylight left. We had a search party looking for him until midnight. Went home full of guilt and turned back around right before the sun rose and kept searching. Found him at 1030 in the morning. It reach nearly zero overnight and I knew right then that this jacket just might have saved my dog's life. He escaped this ordeal with some thorns stuck in his exposed skin and minute frostbite in his feet. He's lucky to be alive and I can finally sleep. Thank you Ruffwear! What I had thought was an overpriced dog vest in one regretful night justified my purchase.

Good

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Good abrasion resistant outer material. As can be expected the inner material collects and holds snow especially between the front legs, a hard situation to fix but also affects the overall warmth factor. Layers nicely with the Cloud Chaser. For what it is, a good coat for active dogs.

My canine companion(s): Goldendoodle

Perfection

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I don't usually need a coat on my 5 yr old goldendoodle but this winter has been tough so I looked everywhere for one I thought would be comfortable and warm. This coat is perfect in every way. Excellent quality - love the side adjustments, easy on and off, rich red color, keeps his chest covered and best of all he doesn't mind wearing it at all. Steve is 55 lbs and the medium fits like a glove. Worth the price. You definitely get what you pay for in this coat.

Very Good Quality

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Great quality and easily adjusted for a large range of size. My boxer is 14 months and 52 pounds, the medium fits her great. The straps are adjustable on both sides and will allow plenty of growing room. This also gives my dog plenty of room to move when running full tilt at the park. Highly recommend. Red is a great color too.

My canine companion(s): Vizsla

Excellent

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

The Small fits my 40 lb. Vizsla perfectly. He runs thru the woods every day on his hour walk with 5 other dogs and loves to rub his body on trees. So far, the coat is standing up to that. I LOVE that there is no messy Velcro to deal with. However we do put an extra fleece layer under it when the temps drop into the teens or below, as this coat is not quite warm enough.

My canine companion(s): Australian Shepherd

Love it!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I bought this to keep my dogs dryer while working in snow and warmer when taking a break. It works perfectly. The ice doesn't get a chance to build up on the belly which is the thinnest coated place, and helps keep them from becoming chilled. Purchasing the K-9 Overcoat has become a right of passage for dogs here. They get the coat when they progress far enough in their training to be certain they'll make good search dogs. The boys love their coats and will drag them out if we've had too much down time.

My canine companion(s): Cairn Terrier Mix

LOVE IT!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

We recently bought the K-9 Overcoat for our Cairn Terrier (mix) who is about 20lbs. and it fits perfectly. He has a longer body and it covers his back from neck to tail, while fitting perfectly around his arms and belly. The fabric is fabulous, reflective strips work wonders, and he doesn't mind wearing it! Highly recommend this coat for colder days.

Excellent

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I've never felt my dog needed a coat until this winter with the new "Polar Vortex" weather systems that keep moving thru our region! I decided to buy one and see how it went. George does not seem to mind the coat and I love that it keeps him warm and DRY on wet days. Well made, easy to put on and reflective strip makes it very visible on night walks. I would recommend!

product is well made and waterproof but isn't warm

Would you recommend this product?.: No

We bought this jacket for our 30 lb beagle mix (she's tall, long, and thin) because we wanted a coat that was waterproof and would keep her warm. Unfortunately, this coat didn't work for her at all because the belly coverage isn't very good and the arm holes are too wide, allowing a lot of cold air to reach the dog. Our dog doesn't need a coat at all until the temperature drops below 35 F. The fur on her belly is thin and what she needs most is belly coverage and coverage around the arm holes and this coat doesn't provide either. When we put the coat on her in temps colder than 35 she still shivered with this coat on. We bought her a fleece lined full coverage hoodie with sleeves and a down vest that also covers her belly well and either will keep her warm (at least down to 20 F and then we use both). This coat didn't keep her warm when it's cold enough for her to need a coat so we don't use it. We bought the coat in June for a camping trip, but didn't realize until December when temperatures got really cold, that the coat wouldn't keep her warm, so we're stuck with it.

Got this for my pup before X-mas and he's been wearing it everyday since. The design is easy to get on and off and the stretch clips keeps in inlace and comfy. The other material has been very durable and the fleece is soft and warm. Highly recommended.

My canine companion(s): Weimaraner

Great!!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Bought this for my 4 yr old male weim who ways 84 lbs. Bought the large, his chest measurement is 33 inches. Fits great! This is his first coat, never bought one before but we are having a very cold winter and he loves to be out running free at the park. He is still getting used to it, he's biting at the neck area. I really like that it's not velcro, the coat has clips that are adjustable and the straps are elastic. It's made very well as Diesel runs through the brush and the material is so durable. I bought the green color and it makes it easier to find him as he is running around!! I would highly recommend this product.

Dog's Name: Kota

Date of Review: 1/29/2014

We kick up our paws in: Madison, WI

My canine companion(s): Boxer mix

We love it!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Great jacket, we exchanged and got this after the Ruffwear fleece Climate Changer jacket did not work out for Kota. The jacket is nice and long over the back, clips are in a goot spot (not velcro which can pop undone on other less quality jackets), doesn't have extraneous things to get caught on bushes etc when hiking. The red color looks really snazzy too. Doesn't get twisted around or fall off to one side or the other like other jackets we have had in the past. Although we liked that the Climate Changer has a little more covereage and probably would be warmer, the arm hole openings on that were too tight for Kota. This jacket fits well all around, my only wish would be if there was a little more coverage on the underside and behind the arms to keep out the Wisconsin cold. We look forward to it keeping Kota dry when we move to Seattle in the near future. Expensive but well worth the purchase. Dog and person approved.

Durable & warm

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I got this in red for my pup - the medium fit her perfectly. We put it on her when she roams around the property (we don't have and fences and are surrounded by woods and neighbors) and the bright color + reflective trim makes us feel better about being able to spot her. She also wears it when we leave her in the back of the truck or tie her up when we go skiing/go on errands. Juniper looks quite cute in her jacket, it goes on and off easily and it keeps her warm while being durable - what more can you ask for?

Excellent

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I use this coat when we run together in cold, snowy weather and there is no chaffing; unlike the previous Ruffwear coat we used to use. Nice job with the "skid plate" design on the chest! If find it easy to put on and appreciate the elastic with the snap-locks. Another thing I love is the toughness of the material and it's water repellency. Yesterday we went to a dog park with woods and open meadows and the as bolted through the woods, the coat took the low branches without a blink. Oh, I should mention that since she's white with brown ticking/spots, the green coat makes it easy to spot her from a distance. I give it 5 Woofs!

Perfect

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

This is the best coat I have ever purchased for my PitBull It is so difficult to buy clothes to fit them. We walk 2 miles a day, even in very cold weather and they need a little something to keep them warm This overcoat is so easy to put on Safrin, my 65 lb PitBul and stays nicely in place when she walks and runs. It adjusts easily to the perfect fit. I just love it and as soon as I can afford it I am buying one for my younger PitBull, Solomon. So glad we found this ruffwear. Follow the size chart recommendations. I bought a medium for Safrin and it fits great. I may even go down to a small for my 55 lb. PitBull This one is a bit long for his body.

Light weight and compressable for travel too. Overall a good product for medium cold weather and rough Terrain.

We spent 2 weeks in the Midwest for Christmas this year. Some time in Chicago and some in Michigan. With the jacket on she stayed outside a lot longer without shivering! It took her about 1 minute to get used to it, and she hardly notices it anymore. We got a Medium, and it fits her chest fine, its a bit cape-ish in the back, but overall, seems fine. It also fit my sister's pit mix pretty comfortably.

Excellent product

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

This product is extremely well made -- it looks sharp and functions very well on the dog. I have a very high drive working Dutch Shepherd...the coat doesn't restrict his movement in anyway. I use it mostly as a warm/cool down coat to protect his joints and spine. When he is warmed up I take it off of him (he runs hot even in extremely cold conditions) and when we quite exercising/working I put the coat back on him as he cools down. We also have one for our single coated border staffy she wears her's nearly all winter/all the time.

The K-9 Overcoat is really well made. The fabric is water repellent on the outside so it's great in snow and rain, and the inside is soft fleece. I love the way it fits too. Woody runs around and the coat stays in place beautifully. THis coat costs a little more than other coats on the market but is well worth it.

nice, but gets "crunchy" in the cold

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I purchased 2 coats for my dog to wear, this and the quinzee. Being a german shepherd, my dog has a fair bit of fur, it just seems a bit thin this year. So, I was really just looking for a soft shell jacket to keep the wind off my dog. I figured he probably didn't need the extra warmth of a puffy coat. Now, here on the Canadian prairies, the weather I think my dog needs to wear a coat to go for a walk in is below -5F, often the windchill makes it more like -20F. This coat seems to have a middle layer between the soft shell and the fleece that gets hard and crunchy out in the cold. My dog does not like wearing jackets in the first place, so having the jacket get stiff and crunchy certainly doesn't make him like it any better. It probably feels better in warmer temps, but then he has no need for a coat in the first place. For this reason, I give higher marks to the quinzee. For sizing, the overcoat seems to run just a bit bigger than the quinzee. The large overcoat is very generous on my 84 lb GSD.

Our Vito goes to doggy day care and needed a durable coat. He's 6 mths old and he is a "ruff" playing puppy. Rolls around on his back, plays hard with all his pals. We purchased this coat with some hesitation to its durability. It has not only held up wear and tear wise but it is a beautiful looking coat. We could not be happier!

Great coat for keeping my dog warm and dry

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I was worried when I ordered the coat that BenG wouldn't want to put it on and wouldn't do his business with it on (as he has with other coats), but he seems to love it and it doesn't encumber him at all. It seems to keep him from getting too cold, and definitely makes him happier when its windy out. It also repels water way better than I thought it would, just finished a half hour walk in pouring rain and water hadn't gotten through when we got back. Excellent coat, definitely worth it.

Even though Phoenix is half husky she has very short hair and almost no undercoat. We.ve had many jackets and such for her. But her doggy siblings always trash them. This jacket fits her almost perfect. A lil tight in the neck, but she's odd shaped. And it's holding up great to the other dogs. She loves to wear it. And runs when we try to take it off of her :)

Good Quality

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I'm very pleased with this coat for my 75lb. male German Shepherd Dog (almost 35" girth). The coat is a bit shorter than I would like, but I wanted the coat to fit well in the body, so I went with the Large instead of the Extra Large. I plan to use this lighter weight coat when it is raining and snowing to keep him dry, and I wanted him to be able to be active without the coat sliding around on him. So far it has been great in the rain. If I had a dog with less fur, that needed a coat for warmth, I probably would have tried an Extra Large for more length. I am giving it only 4 stars instead of 5, only because of the fit/ length issue. Otherwise, you can't beat the quality of the coat! And my dog visibly prefers this coat over his previous one, so I am guessing he probably finds it comfortable too.

Terrific

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

The small size fits Lousi's body, which is long, and short-legged, but proportioned. However, for our second dog, Dexter, who is a Corgy/Jack Russel terrior mix, the XSmall opening for his head is too small for his neck. I would suggest making the neck opening adjustable, possibly a velcro closure. The rest of the XSmall fits, so I'm going to alter the neck by opening up the sewing myself. Let me know if you are planning to have an adjustable line, and I'll return the XSmall. Thanks!

Nice

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I originally ordered the Large, based on Jezzy's measurements and weight. When I tried it on her in the house, it seemed to fit well. I didn't realize until the next day when she wore it that it was much too big around the neck. Every time she laid down, the neck kept slipping down and over her shoulder, preventing her from getting up. I ordered the Medium and it arrived today. I'm surprised at the big difference between the sizes. The neck fits much better, looking to be about AT LEAST 4" smaller in circumference. The jacket is also significantly shorter than the Large. The Large reached almost to the base of her tail, as shown on the dogs in the photographs; the Medium doesn't even reach to her hips. However, it should keep Jezzy warmer than she would be without it this winter. Once I receive the refund on the Large, I'd like to order a Cloud Chaser for her, but I'll definitely talk to customer service before ordering!

Great fit and great performance!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

We looked long and hard for a coat that could keep up with our active guy and fit was a challenge since he has a very athletic build (50 lbs., deep chest, slender midsection and long body). We tried the Ruff Wear fleece jacket prior to the Overcoat but the length of the under belly portion would have prevented him from being able to go to the bathroom :-( and we really wanted something resistant to wet elements. The K-9 Overcoat was the solution! The coat fits him fantastically and the stretch in the buckle straps keeps the coat in place without restricting his movement. We've had him out in the rain for several walks since get this and it's performed great each time. Thanks to Ruff Wear for making such a great product and to Great Outdoor Provisions Co. for carrying it locally!

Loooove this!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Love this coat! I bought this for my 65 lb. Pittie-American Bulldog mix, Deuce, in time for a recent trip to NH over the holidays. We live in DC, which is typically pretty temperate but can get nasty in the winter. Deuce rarely seems fazed by the cold, but he has zero undercoat and is almost bare on his belly and he hates haaaaaates getting wet. We also have the added challenge of his super thick neck and chest with a lean body. This coat rocks! I followed the suggested sizing guidelines and ordered a medium and it's fits like a glove! He seems super comfy and cozy in it and it's been great for the chilly rain and wind typical of DC winters. What's more, when we brought him up to my parent's farm in NH over Christmas, we got hit with 22+ inches of snow and below freezing temps and this coat had him keeping up with the country dogs no problem. Whether playing in the snow, hiking and running around in the woods, or wrestling with his "cousins," this jacket stayed on securely without tearing or snagging. The two side buckles make for easy on and off, and I also loved that the bright color (we got the red currant) and reflective strip made it much easier to keep track of him in the woods -- he's fawn and white, so he tends to blend right in to just about everything this time of year. I would definitely recommend this (and have!) to just about anyone -- you won't be disappointed!

This product exceeded all expectations. I recently took my dog to the coast and he accidentally ended up in the pacific ocean. When he got out I expected him, and the jacket to be soaked, and him freezing. However, he was relatively dry, and the coat had wicked away so much moisture that I could barely tell it had been submerged. Both my dog and the jacket dried quickly. This jacket keeps my dog warm and dry on rainy days and seems to be comfortable for him to wear. The reflector lines are a nice touch. I thought the coat runs a little large, but not much, mostly longer than I expected but whats wrong with a little tail cover? I would definitely recommend this product. Totally worth every penny. IF I ever have to buy another jacket I will go with ruffwear.

We keep our Goldendoodle's coat short for easy maintenance because his coat gets matted easily. With Winter in full swing we have been searching around for a coat to keep him warm, yet still allow him full range of motion as he is very athletic and playful and this overcoat has done wonders. It keeps him warm while we are out playing in the snow and doesn't chafe his sensitive skin. I love how easy it is to take on and off and that the snaps are protected so they don't get caught in brush or clogged by snow. At 55lbs the medium fits his body well and is the perfect length. Thanks for such a great product!

Not only does her overcoat keep thin skinned Dixie warm, but it stands up to her Boxer charges up and down the brush covered banks, and nothing hangs up on the branches. No more fooling me that she hadn't heard the command! I am recommending her Ruffwear to all the members of our Obedience class.

Perfect for winter!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

This jacket is perfect. We have a 40lb Catahoula (hound) who has very thin fur and not a single ounce of fat on his body. Our Mal does just fine in the winter, but the little guy is going to need help staying warm. Enter the Overcoat. The construction is sturdy, the materials are thick and high-quality, and the fit is perfect. It does stick out a bit on the sides near his bum, but I think it's because he's so thin. I'm guessing once the jacket gets more wear and gets washed once or twice the material will relax and fall nicely in the back. Covers his entire torso, fits perfectly around his neck, and covers enough of his belly to keep it dry and warm without getting in the way of needing to go to the bathroom. Extremely happy with this purchase!

Great!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

First we had an earlier model. Good quality, but when we went hiking in Scotland with the dog, the jacket was hanging crooked. This jack also was just too short for the dog, because a Scottish terrier has a relatively long back. Now, the current model falls over her entire back. The coat is very easy to put on and take off. Great improvement! The only downside is that the size of the neck is very small and high. It is slightly more difficult to put a collar around her neck. The previous model had a stretch-piece in the neck, so that when the dog got a longer coat, the size of the neck of the jacket also stretched.

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I purchased the 2011 K-9 Overcoat to keep Dixie cold and dry in the city and on camping trips. I love the fact that there are two buckles (unlike our Web Master Harness). The fabric seems tough and the color is bright. It comes clean in the washing machine. She definitely stays warm on those cold camping nights. My only complaint is that the fitting isn't perfect. Dixie is 55lbs and wears a medium. While the girth is fine, the neck is tight. I don't think we could go to a large as I have the chest straps as short as they will go. She's worn it for over a year without chafing, but I still might expand the neck with my mediocre sewing skills.

I love how the K-9 Overcoat wraps around my dog's belly! This is a great feature for the dog park in the winter when things get slushy! We've taken this jacket hiking and it packs down right into our pack great! I love the spot for a beacon and the reflective piping along the back! Great for back packing!

This is my second order of this coat. the first time, i ordered a medium for one dog and a large for Indie. the large fit around her neck and chest but was too long. Indie went on a diet in late December as she had put on weight while we had company from Thanksgiving to New Year's. She has slimmed back down to her optimum size and now a medium fits. She gave her large to her Lab friend, Casey, who is also quite pleased with her new jacket. would like to see these jackets in short, regular and long to accommodate more body types but it is a great product, very study and easy to get on and off.

I recently bought an XL for the female who weighs in at 90 lbs, so got the newer model. Overall its the same well made jacket but updated with new features such as color and hidden buckles. The size is perfect as it allows Grace a great deal of freedom of movement. I especially like the durable fabric, quality and the fact that it is light-weight. We hike in the Sandia Mountains on a weekly basis and my main concern was how quickly the weather changes in higher elevations. Even though she is a lab and loves cold weather, I want her to remain safe and as dry as possible when unexpected snow or rain occurs on our 4 hour hikes and the K-9 Overcoat is perfect. I am extremely pleased and Grace is happy it doesn't hinder her enjoyment. Plus she looks great in the forest green coat. Thanks Ruff Wear for such a high quality product!

Best I've seen!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

My Standard Poodle (Eddie) is hard to fit. His chest is deep, back is long and overall size is small (withers: 24"/weight: 40 lbs). Last year I ordered a coat (different brand/company) and the leg openings were too small. After contacting that company, I re-ordered a size larger hoping it would fit. The leg openings were still too small! I had to pay to return both coats. This year I found the RuffWear website. After reading all the reviews, I decided to try the K-9 coat. I wanted the coat to cover my dog's back. From the chart, it looked like a medium would work for his chest size. However, the chart didn't give a back length. I emailed customer service with my dog's back measurement and asked the length of the medium coat. I received a prompt reply with the length of the medium coat and placed my order. The coat arrived and the back length fit perfectly! I did have to tighten the adjustable buckles to make the coat as small as possible to fit his chest but it fits great! I really like that the buckles are hidden from view. The coat is very well made and worth the money! Eddie loves to play in the snow! This coat keeps him warm and dry! Don't hesitate to buy this product!

EXCELLENT

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I live in a very cold climate with heavy snow, and although my lab hasn't needed protection before, with her advancing age, I've noticed that she shivers if she is outside too long. So this year I started a search for a coat for her. My Bichon has always needed a coat, and finding sizing has been difficult due to his short legs and the fact that most jackets just don't fit him well. I am so impressed with this jacket...the sizing is perfect. Be sure to measure your dog. I love the elastic stretchy bands that are adjustable in the tummy area, which is where both of my dogs have trouble fitting in other coats. This gives extra breathing room for my older lab who has a bit of extra pudge in that area due to her age, and my Bichon is just built with a big tummy, so he has trouble fitting in other coats. I am also impressed with the quality of how well the coat is made...I am a seamstress, and am knowledgable about fabrics and sewing. This coat is made to last for many years and is well worth the extra cost, than other cheaply made coats that I have purchased in the past. With the adjustable elastic band, I know that if my dogs gain or lose weight, this coat will still fit them for years to come. I have never seen such heavy duty stitching...these jackets are made to last. The fabric is rip proof....my lab doesn't even know she has it on. She runs thru brush and the fabric wears like iron. The inside is a very soft fleece, so the outside fabric doesn't touch their skin/fur. It's completely waterproof, yet after all the running around they do, neither of them end up sweating inside their coats because the fabric is breathable. There is also a grey stripe sewn all around the entire coat, that looks like a trim piece, but when you shine a light on it, it lights up as if there is a lightbulb hidden inside! The entire coat glows! You can see the coat a mile away at night with any light shinning on it....a great safety feature. I had to call customer service because my lab was in between 2 sizes, and they were extremely helpful. My coats arrived in 2 days. I walk my dogs on groomed snow trails primarily, but I am considering buying the boots for them if I do any snowshoeing in the woods this year. This company makes quality products and I have no doubt that anything else I purchase will be a great investment for my pooches. I've been buying coats for many years, for my other dogs I've owned who have now gone on to the Rainbow Bridge, and these are the first coats I've ever had that are designed the way they should be. Obviously, I can't say enough great things about them. It's so hard to find such good quality anywhere, anymore. Thank you, Ruff Wear!

We have tried other coats and this one is by far the best. It has the fleece inside and the water resistant outside which keeps him both warm and dry. It doesn't reach all the way down to the base of his tail, but that's not an issue. It's his upper body and chest that we want protected and warm and it can be adjusted for a snug fit. He likes to run a lot and fast, so it meets HIS needs and he looks forward, with a wagging tail, to Dad putting it on him. We would recommend this to anyone.

After shopping around a lot I knew I could come back to Ruffwear and get a quality coat. Zero wore the K9 overcoat out to play in our first snowstorm last night, it was pretty cold, and he wasn't fazed. He's really short-haired and we're so happy to have something to protect him from the cold so we can still have adventures. It's just a bit cape-like in the back when he turns his upper body from side to side, but not really an issue. He doesn't seem to mind it either, almost seemed like he was prancing. Zero is around 60-65lbs with a girth of 29. We got the medium, he has the size medium approach pack also. Love it.

Fit is difficult

Would you recommend this product?.: No

We measured our dog according to the size chart provided and determined he needed a medium coat. It was HUGE on him. So we returned it and ordered the small, which was TINY on him. Even adjusting both coats as much as possible did not make them fit. I think the coats should be fit with more measurements than just the dog's chest size. Our dog has an unusually large chest, which I guess was the problem. I'm sure it's a great coat, but we couldn't make it work. I also think it's unfortunate that we had to pay for the shipping on two coats PLUS the return shipping, and we weren't even able to keep either one of them.

Just got our first overcoat in the mail yesterday! We have a 1 year old German Shorthaired with a girth of 29", so we ordered the medium in forest green. The size seems appropriate in girth however the length extends to the tip of her tail and is a little cape-like in the back, maybe because she's just thin and narrow. When she walks nicely with her head held high it falls great on her back though and gives her good coverage. Seemed to keep her nice and warm in the breezy/drizzly wind on a walk yesterday and I'm sure we'll be getting much more use out of it! We also have the cloud chaser in medium which fits her like a glove and the fleece in medium which we've also been thrilled about. Even thought about layering the fleece with this in extreme cold if needed.
