Love it

Walking my two Labs on separate leashes was nearly impossible. The Knot-a-coupler and Knot-a-Long makes it possible (and fun) to walk both. The give in the Knot-a-Coupler is just enough to cushion that sudden jolt from the dogs when they see that squirrel crossing the road before I do.

FABULOUS!

This coupler is a LIFE SAVER! Walking my dogs with multiple leashes was hazardous to me and them! The coupler makes it possible for all 3 of us to enjoy a walk through the neighborhood. The stretch rope construction gives just enough cushion when one or both of them decide to bolt after a squirrel or bird. Hooking both dogs together has also managed to calm their stubborn independance while walking as neither one can lead our walks but they must work together to get somewhere.
Highly recommend to anyone who has multiple dogs.

Great! I have two very large dogs. A hundred pound chocolate lab and golden. This has kept them both inline and made it much easier for me to walk them.

love it!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

We just recently adopted a retired greyhound. We needed a way to walk them both on a leash without getthing the leashes all tangled up etc. The Knot-A-Coupler works GREAT! The two dogs seem to walk each other now, and the strethchy bungee takes some of the "shock" out of the pull between the dogs. The Knot A Coupler works great with the Knot A Long, the ultimate combination! Great work Ruffwear!

very very functional but would like a short coordinating handle

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

If you have two dogs (big or small) to walk, this is a great coupler. Instead of pulling on your arm they pull a bit on each other and settle down quickly. There are plenty of couplers out there but this one has excellent swivels and is the right length and weight and balance. However, I wish Ruff Wear would sell a very short Knot-a-leash (6-9 inches) or just a handle and biner to attach to the coupler. For any dog 20 inches or more high, attaching a 2-4 foot lead results in too little control and a more chaotic walk - especially in town and on tight trails. I often just grap the coupler but a handle would be awesome

excellent

There are times when I need to have my clients' dogs on leash and the coupler is key and the "give" of the material allows the dogs comfort and me control. Because the dogs can't wait to be in the woods OFF LEASH!

Could use improving

It would be great if they could be a little longer or adjustable. Also having heavier metal clips would be great since we have dog that pulls, we just fear of the stress on the plastic over time.

Pretty good, could use improvements

We are huge fans of Ruffwear and this is the only product we've struggled with at all. We definitely put it to the test and it probably would be fine for most people. But we walk packs of dogs on tough hiking trails so they get beat on. The only weak point of the product are the clips. We had one clip break, and sometimes they magically (we seriously can't figure it out) detach from the collars. To make this product perfect, don't change a thing... but add the same clip on the Knot-a-coupler as is on the Knot-a-Leash (the screw close caribeaners) with a swivel and it would be the best coupler in the whole world. The cushion on the Y joint is a great place to hold onto when you need a shorter lead, and the elastic helps to take the pressure off you and the dogs both. 97% awesome, just a little adjustment and it couldn't be better!

Excellent Design

I am about 8 month pregnant, and we have VERY strong dogs. In order to take them for a walk on leash, my husband was having to juggle two seperate leashes, which would tangle and cause near injuries. Now that we have our Knot-coupler, our walks are amazing. Though my husband does say that his arms become tired after a long duration of fighting against the pull of both dogs at once, he agrees that it is the best dog purchase we have ever made. The elastic give that it has, allows each dog a little bit of freedom, but keeps them together, and non tangled all on its own! Amazing design.

Great!

Walking both dogs was a chore, they always became tangled. Now they walk side by side. One will go from side to side when we start walking, but the link keeps them from getting tangled. This product does exactly what I wanted it to do! The flexibility in the line gives them each a feeling of independence. This is a great product!

Forgiving Link

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

The biggest thing that seperates this coupler from others on the market is the bungie stretch. It allows my two aussies to run next to each but still break away just a little bit to go around trail obsticals or investigate something without knocking the other out of stride. That stretch also gives you a little cushion if they are ready to start up the trail before you are. I run this system in conjuction with either the dog packs or the stow n go harness and a 25' rectractible leash. With this set up we can run the trails or I can mtn bike with the two dogs running out front. Using a harness is a lot better system for this coupler rather than trying to link them by their collars.

It works great with my two lab puppies age 7 months. Could not walk them alone without the Knot-a-Coupler. I got the lead also which makes the system work great.

I am using it with the Knot-a-Long leash, and I love it. My dogs are trained to walk nicely on lead, but this eliminates the inevitable tangles and is very comfortable in my hand. I do have to watch that the boy doesn't pee on the girl, though!

Really like the stretchiness of the lead - it keeps my more energetic buddy from constantly yanking hard on my more mellow one. I use it with the regular length RW lead and it's a great length for both riding my bike with the dogs or hiking with them.

Love this coupler. Before I was forever untangling these spitfires, now they walk side by side and don't get in each other's way. Love the bounciness of the cord. Doesn't pull on their necks like conventional leashes do. Wish you make a 3 tho. Yup, got three little ruffians to handle.

For years I struggled untangling my two little Westies whilst out on the streets when they stopped to sniff, but now I no longer have that problem after purchasing this product. My two little dogs never get tangled up anymore, and they walk perfectly in sync with each other side by side. I even purchased the Knot-a-leash, and knot-a-collars for them too. Well done Ruffwear.

Works great for walking my active 2 yellow labs (field-bred, long & lean). Also am using it in an unusual way for my Chessie. She is in a Ruff Wear Double-Back Harness full-time for degenerative myelopathy & intravertebral disc disease. We've added some clips to the the db leg clips and clip each end of the Knot-a-Coupler to it to provide rear-end support for her walking. Awesome!

This was the first RW product I didn't like. The bouncyness of the cords worked against me trying to hold the dogs back. Plus adding it at the end of my regular RW leash made the whole lead too long and awkward. Bought a (Petmate brand I think) full 2-dog leash which works great for my two big dogs.
