Love the carabiner!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I have had this leash for 2 years now and it has worked great and is still in great condition. I take him out twice a day for a walk and I just love the carabiner, now I don't have to worry about my dog getting accidentally off the leash and running away. He went through a lot of leashes before we found this one and I just love it.

Favorite leash ever!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I have sooo many different leashes. This leash is by far my absolute favorite! In fact, this is the ONLY leash I use now and will only use this leash from now on. It's the perfect length (not too long, not too short). The handle is SO comfy in my hands. All other leashes hurt my hand when Ryker decided to go after something. I use this leash while running. I've had other leash clips magically come undone while running. I never have to worry about that with the locking carabiner clip. I read on another review somewhere about the clip not spinning and having to untwirl the leash. This is not an issue with me at all. My dog definitely does not walk in a straight line, he's all over the place. I would untwirl the leash maybe once during an hour long trails run. The leash does not get tangled or twirl up on itself, the rope will just twist ever so slightly on occasion. I will buy more in the future!

We constantly run, hike, and play tug of war with this leash. We've had it over 2 years and it is as durable as ever. Even when she sees a squirrel or two, the rope's webbing really reduces the tugging.

I have used this leash since we picked up Oakley from the breeder. Impressed with the quality. Climbing rope with a locking climbing caribiner. Practical and strong. He will pull but it doesnt strain. Sadly I had to replace the first one because he chewed through the first one. But add a martingale lead and my little sled puller acts like quite the gentleman when we go on our daily outings.

I am extremely satisfied with the leash. Only thing I did was wrap some black sports tape from clasp up to almost a foot on leash because my puppy kept biting it and I did not want him to damage it. Leash is very light and does not hurt the hand when you hold it short like the nylon one does.

My pups & I love these leashes!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I've always in the past rigged up carabiners on my pups leashes, because carabiners are the best and are so handy! So, when I saw that you made this leash.. I was thrilled and had to try them out! They are amazing and we love them! I still put another carabiner on the end I'm holding for other purposes, like attaching to my backpack I'm wearing, so I'm hands free. My pups enjoy that its lightweight and I like the security of the locking feature on the carabiner. I would recommend this leash to anyone and especially adventurers.

Love this leash. I won't ever want to use another one. The design is perfect. The length is perfect, the 'biner is a great size and I love that they use a locking one, and the handle is the best part. With the double loops and rubber joint where it meets the parachord, you can have a dozen different hand holds. We hook our bag dispenser with a mini 'biner onto the small loop. Perfect!

We purchased the Knot-a-Leash for our 6-month old Siberian husky pup. Before we bought the leash, we were just using one from our local PetSmart that was not great quality. We have been using this leash for about a month, and have been very impressed thus far. The leash is extremely durable (as you’d expect from Ruffwear) and the carabiner is a great addition. Huskies are a strong breed and can be pullers, so you need to make sure you have something that won’t break off. The carabiner pretty much ensures this won’t happen. It’s easy to put on and the length is perfect. She’s not ready for a longer leash like the Roamer as we are still training her. I would highly recommend this leash. Very durable.

Terrific leash

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

This leash was a lifesaver during 18 months of post-surgical leash walking. The handle is particularly comfortable and big enough to accommodate cold weather gear (gloves/mittens). I wish the carabiner was a little smaller, because it doesn't fit easily onto all collars...but I personally appreciate the locking aspect.

Good

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I would say excellent since it's made very well and is even reflective at night. My only problem is that while walking my dogs, if they get excited and twist at all, even only a little, the leash will twist and knot up on itself, shortening it's length. I had read other review which also mentioned this problem, so it's not only my problem. Once, it twisted so badly that it wrapped around my finger very tightly and I couldn't get it to release. Other then that, this is overall a very good leash. I had read before I purchased it, in several reviews that other people had this problem. They also mentioned the problem of the carabiner lock opening, I have not had that problem and if it were not for the fact this leash has a tendency to twist and knot up on itself, I'd say it was excellent. I feel secure knowing this leash is well made and will not break, so I think it's very good. You just have to be aware that the leash may twist and knot up on you, so watch where your fingers are.

I first bought the leash in Park City Utah 9 years ago and have used it daily since with Raleigh. Lost it in our travel in PA this summer. Ordered a new one and walks are great again. I do not need the locking carabiner and do wish that it was offered with the option to have either the plain carabiner or the locking one. It feels good to have it back around my neck as I walk the dog off leash. Still my favorite leash!

Beautiful leash

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

This leash is great. Fantastic quality, comfortable to hold, and the locking mechanism on the clip is fantastic. As the leash gets older and is used more frequently, I will say the locking aspect of the caribiner stops working, but it still clips on. Just something to be aware of if you have an escape artist. Always be sure to check that the caribiner is locked a few times during your hike/camp.

Excellent for the "right" use

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I bought the matching knot-a-leash to the knot-a-collar. While I like the product a great deal, it did not work for us because of the carabiner attachment. It's just too much of a procedure to have to attach and remove as Hinckley is mostly off-leash. If we walked him on a leash this would be my first choice! I'm sorry it didn't work for us as it looked great with the collar!

Love this leash for running and now I use it as the everyday leash. Only downfall is that there's no swivel mechanism on the leash so it can get bunched. Love the locking carabiner and it's very easy to take on and off. I also use it during agility show/classes as a loop leash through the handle and can lock the carabiner to a fence when needed. Super for hiking

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

In the city/at home we use the Slackline Leash, but when we are out camping or hiking and Sita is wearing her Ruffwear harness we use the Knot-a-leash. It is soft to grab when I need to hold the leash at any point and the handle is comfortable. I also feel secure with this leash so I have used it to pick sita up w/ the harness when she crosses in front of me on narrow log bridges or ledges and I need to reposition her immediately. I like it's shorter length for hiking too. Sometimes she is off leash but when she is on leash the length is appropriate.

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

This leash has been great. I see some people have an issue with the lock on the carabineer coming lose. Mine doesn’t have that problem. I do check it most time that I take the dog out and sometimes it is lose but I think that is the way we store it and not a design issue or anything like that. We had an issue with our dog getting out of standard leash connectors so that is why we switched to a leash with a carabineer. Glad we did.

I agree with the last comment regarding the carabiner. The locking mechanism on the carabiner ALWAYS unscrews!!! I tighten it before, during and after ever walk. Also, the leash curls up if there isn't any tension in the lead. I called customer service and they acknowledged the problem and suggested another leash however all the other models are made without a carabiner.

So far, so good. I have an escape-artist beast of a sled-dog that also pulls mightily, and this is the best leash I've found for him thus far. My one complaint is that the locking mechanism on the carabiner frequently unscrews itself loose, so I make a point of checking it & re-tightening it every day now. As long as you remember to check it & tighten it daily, it seems very sturdy and I LOVE the carabiner - so much more sturdy than the typical leash hardware.

First got this leash after my cocker spaniel detached himself from a normal spring gate leash. Love the leash, it is a perfect length for walking on sidewalks, love it hiking, great for traveling. This is the only leash I used for several years. My younger dog just chewed through her leash so I was going to replace both leashes as the reflectivity has faded from the first leash I bought (after 7 years). But I am so bummed that there is no more blue!! Guess I will only be replacing the chewed leash and not both.

Well made, clean, simple and extremely light

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I was tired of old stinky heavy leashes and collars that seemed to break down after a few months of use. I just received these leashes with headwaters collars and I can honestly say that I'm pretty impressed with the craftsmanship.

Amazing.

I've been using this leash for 7 years for my Golden. Seven. Years. And it is the most comfortable, awesome, ergonomic leash I've come across. And I'm a dog walker so I come across a lot of leashes. Its been on camping trips, hiking, to the beach, and across the country. Thanks for a great product!

Excellent

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

This was a Christmas present for Zelda, so used it for the first time yesterday. We run regularly and sometimes she does like to pull (bicylclists; UPS and Fed Ex trucks; runners), but this held up well. It's a liitle shorter than her previous leash, so easier to control. Leash attached easily to Web Master Harness (another GREAT product) and I am much more confident of the security of the attachment than I was with her old leash. Looking forward to many more happy runs with this product.

My husky chews and tugs, and I've had the same leash for several years, now, but he finally made a hole in it. I'd like to get something new, but I wish it still came in blue!

Looks nice

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I chose this leash because of the look and I thought would be lighter than my 6 ft leather lead. It does look nice and is light. And it reflects well in poor lighting. It is very uncomfortable if you have to pull (or be pulled) on the lead as you might when you correct your dog. The rope digs into your hand.

Perfect for backpacking

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

This is the best leash for backcountry use that I have found. I am confident taking my dog next to cliffs and steep drop-offs knowing if he has a slip he will be securely attached with the locking carabiner. I clip this to my pack with another carabiner and it’s the perfect length to keep control of my nose-driven Beagle mix. This does not swivel, so keep that in mind when purchasing, but this has not been an issue for me.

My favorite leash!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I've shopped around and tried a lot of leashes and this is by far my favorite. It locks and is reflective, which is great for safety. It's also very lightweight while being strong and sturdy. My dog is active and would often get tripped up in other leashes that are floppy. This has structure and so stands up on its own and doesn't sag, so she doesn't trip over it. It's also 5 ft as opposed to standard 6 ft which is a great length for us when walking on the sidewalk (I was often bunching up and shortening the 6 ft leashes manually). My dog also rolls around on the ground when she finds great smelling things, and with other leashes she would sometimes accidentally unclip the spring latch on other leashes. With the lock on this one, it's impossible and has never happened. Finally, I love the handle - it's easy to grab and doesn't shift around on you like some others. Love everything about it!!

Very Good

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Love the design and functionality. It also stands up over time. ONLY drawback is the D-hook. It's a bit cumbersome and it will turn closed on itself as you walk the dog, so even if you don't screw it shut it will closed by itself. But, easy to live with considering all the other good things!

Sturdy

I wanted a leash that I would feel confident about with the yank of a Great Pyr. The carabiner is fantastic, easy to clip and lock. If my dog gets away it's because I let go, not the leash. Very happy.

The Gorrilla Glue of dog leashes

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Finding products that are tough enough to take on my Alaskan Malamute are really far and few between. Bub is 120 lbs and he is all about pulling. Having the carabiner is pure genius! He's gone through so many leashes just because of literally pulling the clasps apart, and this is the only one he hasn't destroyed. One of our favorite things to do with each other in the not so snowy times in Colorado is hook his harness up to the Knot-a-leash and have him pull me up the foothills while riding my longboard. Strong dog+strong leash=fun for all!

Very Sturdy

I love this leash! It has reflective stitching and is very sturdy. My Husky likes to pull on walks and the leash is pretty stout! The grip is pretty comfortable for my small hands. You can also 'lock' the D-Ring so it doesn't come loose while walking. Will buy more! Have had it for a few months, no signs of wear and tear yet.

Awesome!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I have a very strong Brittany Spaniel that pulls so much that we have to use a pinch collar. On our old leash the pinch would sometimes come loose from the leash while jogging, which was obviously stressful. The locking carabiner was the perfect solution. The leash is so strong and so secure. Just bought a new one for our new pup!

I picked up the knot-a-leash for Chloe when long before I moved to Florida (seven+ years ago). When we got Gus, I got his knot-a-leash (almost six years ago). Both have stayed in great condition for the entire time (they even withstand the washer if needed). I love it so much that I'm currently online shopping for our new puppy's Knot-a-leash.
