Rules, rules, rules: sometimes you gotta use a leash. But who hasn't been caught without one? In a pinch, you improvise. We did, with a hank of old climbing rope and a retired carabiner. This morphed into the first leash we ever offered.
This current iteration is made of strong, supple, reflective climbing rope. The rope loops through a tubular webbing handle for comfort, and a silicone casing at the rope/biner connection keeps the locking carabiner oriented correctly. Available in two diameters: 7mm or 10mm - choose according to your needs.

Love it!

So far, so good. I have an escape-artist beast of a sled-dog that also pulls mightily, and this is the best leash I've found for him thus far. My one complaint is that the locking mechanism on the carabiner frequently unscrews itself loose, so I make a point of checking it & re-tightening it every day now. As long as you remember to check it & tighten it daily, it seems very sturdy and I LOVE the carabiner - so much more sturdy than the typical leash hardware.

The carabiner is great
Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!
The small leash is a bit rough on your hands if you try to shorten it or use it to correct behavior. I also wish you could tighten the hand strap since it isn't as flexible as other leashes. The best part is feeling that the leash won't come off the collar.

I have had a dogs my whole life and this leash is by far the best I've ever owned. I love the rope for the fact that it is flexible without having to break it in. The handle is very study and I LOVE the locking carabiner. This was a genious idea. Now I know for sure that Fielder is secured. Thank you for such a great product. I'm convinced anyone who purchases the Knot-a-leash will love it as much as I do.

I switched to this leash after the spring closures on on 2 different leashes failed...with one incident resulting in my dog running into 4 lane traffic! Never have to worry about the closure failing on this leash. Handle very comfortable and love the reflective fibers.

First got this leash after my cocker spaniel detached himself from a normal spring gate leash. Love the leash, it is a perfect length for walking on sidewalks, love it hiking, great for traveling. This is the only leash I used for several years. My younger dog just chewed through her leash so I was going to replace both leashes as the reflectivity has faded from the first leash I bought (after 7 years). But I am so bummed that there is no more blue!! Guess I will only be replacing the chewed leash and not both.

This my third Knot-a-Leash I've purchased over the years. The use of rope allows for a better grip and if you need to shorten the leash it can be braided / knotted to desired length. The high quality carabiniere provides a secure attachement to any collar or harness

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!
This was a Christmas present for Zelda, so used it for the first time yesterday. We run regularly and sometimes she does like to pull (bicylclists; UPS and Fed Ex trucks; runners), but this held up well. It's a liitle shorter than her previous leash, so easier to control. Leash attached easily to Web Master Harness (another GREAT product) and I am much more confident of the security of the attachment than I was with her old leash. Looking forward to many more happy runs with this product.

Looks nice
Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!
I chose this leash because of the look and I thought would be lighter than my 6 ft leather lead. It does look nice and is light. And it reflects well in poor lighting. It is very uncomfortable if you have to pull (or be pulled) on the lead as you might when you correct your dog. The rope digs into your hand.

Perfect for backpacking
Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!
This is the best leash for backcountry use that I have found. I am confident taking my dog next to cliffs and steep drop-offs knowing if he has a slip he will be securely attached with the locking carabiner. I clip this to my pack with another carabiner and it’s the perfect length to keep control of my nose-driven Beagle mix. This does not swivel, so keep that in mind when purchasing, but this has not been an issue for me.

My favorite leash!
Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!
I've shopped around and tried a lot of leashes and this is by far my favorite. It locks and is reflective, which is great for safety. It's also very lightweight while being strong and sturdy. My dog is active and would often get tripped up in other leashes that are floppy. This has structure and so stands up on its own and doesn't sag, so she doesn't trip over it. It's also 5 ft as opposed to standard 6 ft which is a great length for us when walking on the sidewalk (I was often bunching up and shortening the 6 ft leashes manually). My dog also rolls around on the ground when she finds great smelling things, and with other leashes she would sometimes accidentally unclip the spring latch on other leashes. With the lock on this one, it's impossible and has never happened. Finally, I love the handle - it's easy to grab and doesn't shift around on you like some others. Love everything about it!!

Love the design and functionality. It also stands up over time. ONLY drawback is the D-hook. It's a bit cumbersome and it will turn closed on itself as you walk the dog, so even if you don't screw it shut it will closed by itself. But, easy to live with considering all the other good things!

The Gorrilla Glue of dog leashes
Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!
Finding products that are tough enough to take on my Alaskan Malamute are really far and few between. Bub is 120 lbs and he is all about pulling. Having the carabiner is pure genius! He's gone through so many leashes just because of literally pulling the clasps apart, and this is the only one he hasn't destroyed. One of our favorite things to do with each other in the not so snowy times in Colorado is hook his harness up to the Knot-a-leash and have him pull me up the foothills while riding my longboard. Strong dog+strong leash=fun for all!

I have a very strong Brittany Spaniel that pulls so much that we have to use a pinch collar. On our old leash the pinch would sometimes come loose from the leash while jogging, which was obviously stressful. The locking carabiner was the perfect solution. The leash is so strong and so secure. Just bought a new one for our new pup!
