Will last years!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I bought this leash 10 years ago at my local pet goods store. The leash has held up and is still in use. It's the most comfortable leash to hold and I love being able to tie the poop bags to it. I don't use a dispenser because they are bulky and cumbersome when attached to a leash. The only thing that hasnt held up are the reflective fabric inside the leash which has frayed over the years but otherwise this is still holding up really great! I've tried other leashes during the years and this is still my favorite and go-to.

Good quality leash

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Purchased the knot-a-leash for walking our two siberian huskies. the 5 ft leash is a good length that allows the dogs some freedom but short enough to maintain control. The handle is my favorite part. The design makes it comfortable for daily walks which is essential with huskies as they are natural pullers. Seems to be a very strong and well built leash. The locking carabiner is also very nice as I've had previous leashes unhook themselves somehow.

Worth every penny

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

My boy Bonzo is a 75lb bundle of fun and has broken every leash we ever had until we switched to the Knot-a-Leash. This leash is durable and comfortable and I have no worries about it breaking at a critical time. Great for casual walks since the length gives him enough liberty to enjoy the scenery. We use the Knot-a-Long when navigating crows to keep him close. Both are phenomenal and I definitely won't ever buy another brand.

Very Good

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I purchased the Knot-a-leash and the Slackline leash. I have the smaller version which is perfect for my dog's size. So far I prefer this leash over the Slackline for a couple of reasons. Size/Weight is nice. The design is really neat and goes with his webmaster harness in red perfectly. It has reflective threads just like the other leashes and is just great. If you are trying to decide between these two leashes I would say... get them both. The Slackline is perfect for when you want to let go of the leash once your dog is already leash trained. The Knot-a-leash is what I am using with the chain reaction collar to help get the training in the first few months.

Favourite leash in 14 years of dog companionship.

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I purchased my knot a leash several years ago for my old lab Diesel that passed away last year. We now have a 4 month old new pup Finn that we are now using this leash for it is by far my favorite leash and I walk dogs for a living. I am also a rock climber so love the design of this leash the ease on handling with a rounded rope as opposed to a lot of the flat leashes that can rip your skin. Especially as my hands dry out from constant leash handling it's always a pleasure to use my own Ruff Wear leash. My leash has with stood on average 3-4 hours use a day with a heavy duty lab in a Canadian climate hot Summers and freezing cold slushy snowy winters. While the color is faded it is still in excellent shape. I may buy a new one though so can use this one for work. My favorite feature though has always been the locking carabiner as always felt more comfortable tying my dog up at the post while grabbed a coffee knowing that most people would not be able to figure out how to unlock it in order to pull it through the handle in order to take my dog. Given labs are so handsome someone might run off with my dog in the two mins was in the coffee shop 😉

This is a very well-made product. The caribiner locks easily and effectively. The reflective striping is much appreciated in the early morning and twilight walks especially. Best Ever!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I actually found my first Ruff Wear leash laying on a snowy covered trail in Oregon. In this case, someones loss turned into my gain! I had always used the traditional leash style you can find at any pet store for the last 50 years. The Ruffwear leash transformed my dog walking & control. The ease of the carabiner is fantastic especially when using with cold hands. Also, the added weight and presence of the carabiner tends to make a dog heal easier. The round rope is 10X better in feel and control than any traditional style leash. Also, I have never struggled to untangle this leash. I can put it in my pocket but it has enough weight and rope texture to it that it can be around my neck and not slide off easily. After seeing my leash, the rest of my family now uses Ruffwear on thier dogs! (BTW-I still have the original Ruffwear leash I found 8 years ago and it still looks & works perfect)

Impressed

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Wasn't really in the market for a new leash but happen to see this at a retailer while on vacation. I was so impressed by the quality I bought it anyways! The first thing I noticed while using it was how light it was. This wasn't even a consideration or factor in my purchase but compared to my old leach the weight savings was considerable. In fact on a recent walk the leash had come off my gloved hand and I didn't even notice it, the feel is that light! The padded handle loop is also very comfortable should your dog pull. I love the caribiner type clasp, very secure. It could however be a little smaller in size, seems like overkill. My only complaint would be the lack of a swivel, the rope tends to twist and coil and requires constant adjustment. I would love to see this leach offered in a shorter 4' length.

Pretty Good Leash

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Let me start by saying we are huge fans of Ruffwear and our dogs are pretty much outfitted in all Ruffwear items. We loved the previous version of the Slackline leash (before they changed it up to the clip that everyone says doesn't hold) and so we were searching for a replacement. That being said, we were a little disappointed at the Knot-A-leashes. We have had this leash (and the shorter Knot-A-Long) for a few weeks now and although it is a well constructed leash, we've noticed a few inconveniences. 1. The carabiner might be extremely durable but it is kind of a hassle to slip and unclip. 2. There is no rotatable mechanism so if the dog turns around or anything the leash starts to bunch up like an old landline telephone cord and you have to unwind, especially with the longer Knot-A-Leash. Again, the quality of materials is certainly there, which is why it still got 4 stars instead of 3, but I suppose I just miss the old Slackline leash with the secure clip which had the rotating mechanism, adjustable leash lengths for running, and the shorter loop for when you need to have firmer control over your dog.

Awesome leash for my more controlled walks. The quality is great and I like that I'm able to secure and open the carabiner with one hand. Only issue is that the carabiner is quite thick when used together with other Ruffwear products like the Front Range harness or Headwater collar.

Great Leash

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Great leash for an active dog. The rope is heavy duty and soft in your hand, the loop on the end is easy to hold and big enough to put your arm through. Leash is strong, looks nice, and isn't hard to hold on to like some materials. The clip is the real advantage of this leash. This clip is very heavy duty, and can be locked shut. No worries about accidental release or the clip breaking when you need it most.

Finally a leash with a strong clasp! The carabiner clip is what sold me on this product after the clasp from my previous leash failed and my dog became loose. I am now able to walk my dog (who pulls!) with confidence knowing he will be safe. The only downfall is that the leash does twist a little during the course of our walk, but that is something I can live with. I'll be looking into more Ruffwear gear for my dog in the future.

love everything Ruffwear! When we were looking to upgrade our leashes for our two Flat Coated Retriever - Springer Spaniel mixes, we needed the leashes to meet our established criteria: short, light, durable and can accommodate the items we usually carry. Knot-A-Long leash met all of those criteria. The hand area is very comfortable and does not rub. And I love the accessory loop in the middle - we can put the poop bag holders and our binders together without them making noise, which we love. Highly recommended! On a side note, I do wish Ruffwear would make their harnesses match their leashes, other than black.

One of my dogs is leash reactive and I had the unfortunate incident of a leash snapping on me during one of her reactive moments. I started looking into the sturdiest leashes on the market after that incident. Someone suggested Ruffwear leashes. I saw this leash and was immediately sold on the locking carabiner mechanism. The rope is very sturdy. Overall, this is a very very well made leash. It's by far my favorite leash I've ever owned. Worth the price.

Good Ideas not great product

Would you recommend this product?.: No

First off I want to establish my love for the brand Ruffwear. They do all they can to provide the best product for all sorts of pups. In fact I loved their web harness so much that I posted it all over a beagle facebook page. In fact the review and pictures resulted in several beagle owners, across the country, taking the recommendation of a harness that is inescapable and purchased it immediately. With that being said and my former experiences with Ruffwear I went ahead and purchased this leash. The 'Strong and secure locking carabiner' was one of the reasons I purchased this. At first review this leash would have been 5 stars. The Carabiner (spinny double lock that provides double safety for the leash end) spins wonderful at the start and is a bit of a pain but ends up quickly slowing down without lubricating it properly. Who really wants to have to lubricate the end of a leash? The 'strong supple kernmantle rope' ends up kinking up and literally tying itself into knots, thus shortening the leash up during a walk. Ruffwear has amazing ideas and most of them work greatly. In this case the ideas were best left as that. This will not deter me from continuing to buy Ruffwear product.
