This tough, rugged leash is inspired by climbing rope and all the dependable security it provides.
A locking carabiner (instead of traditional clip) keeps leash and collar securely connected.
Whether it's a trot through town or a romp on the trail, you’ll appreciate the Comfortgrip webbing handle, while your canine counterpart will enjoy five feet of freedom.
Available in four colors that coordinate with our Knot-A-Just™ Collar.

Fantastic
I love this product design for it's durability and comfort. My only problem with the design is that the carabiner, though I love the concept, does not swivel so if the leash is attached to a non-swiveling D-ring, the leash may begin to twist./////Yes

Great
I originally bought this leash after my dog escaped a poor quality pet store leash. He was out for a walk and the clasp let go from his collar as he shook. Luckily, he wasn't injured in the incident and we began our search for a new leash. We bought the Ruff Wear Knot-a-Leash because of the locking carabiner and have been very pleased with it. It's great to walk him without the worry of him escaping and running into traffic. The only con to this leash is that if you have a strong dog and the leash gets wet, you could end up with some rope burns. For this reason, I've switched to the DoubleBack Leash. /////Yes

Great, but...
I got this leash off REI Outlet. While the leash itself is great, the carabiner is faulty. the leash I have seems to be an older version of this one (the biner is black). I might try to replace the biner in the leash./////Yes

Comfortable and strong
While my dog is only 17lbs and doesn't need a the carabiner as an attachment point, his constant pulling, twisting and bolting had a tendency to pull me, at 6'2" 300lbs. Regular spring clip attachments didn't keep my at ease, so I opted for the carabiner.Having a round rope instead of flat webbing for a leash was a good change since the old leashes we had tended to cut into our hands (we walk with right hand on loop, left holding leash on dog side. After breaking in the rough rope exterior, it's much softer and easier on the hands. The handle is great as well. The added benefit of having the rope leash is that I tie a small overhand knot on a bight midway on the leash to clip to another carabiner of mine when the dog goes in the car for a ride. This keeps him in the back seat with just enough room to move, and out of the front. The only fault I can find is that the rope leash gets twisted and winds up on itself when ever our dog runs around us, turns, pivots, etc. Unlike a traditional spring clip which has a built-in pivot for the leash, the carabiner attachment doesn't allow compensate for the twisting of the leash. It's not a major problem, I just twist my wrist a bit and untangle it. I can see how you can't have a pivot built into the leash-biner attachment, and it's not a huge issue.Overall, I'm happy with this leash. /////Yes

top notch
Perfect leash for the dog who wants to be his own boss. It locks onto the harness and there's no way it can open, unlike others I have used. The leash is strong enough for an elephant./////Absolutely

Rugged, Durable, Stylish
I have purchased 4 of these leashes - one each for my two dogs and two as gifts for my friend's two Labradors. The leash is very strong, yet stylish and has a nice reflective fabric stiched in. The only drawbacks I had with the leashes are: 1. The carabiner does not swivel, so the leash can get twisted somewhat easily...and 2. If you are holding the leash portion, and not the handle while your dog pulls - prepare for ropeburn! Overall, this is a great leash. The drawbacks mentioned above have not made me stop using them. I have ordered both the blue and green colors. Both are very nice. /////Yes

Best for calm dogs
I purchased this leash for my labrador retriever, but ended up using it for my yorkshire terrier. In all regards, I think the product is great. It is constructed very well, is durable, and very stylish. However, the leash is probably best suited for calmer dogs that will not pull when excited or fixated. If you want to keep your dog on a short leash, and wrap the rope around, or bundle it, it causes a lot of paid and rope burn due to the thin guage of the rope. A flat synthetic leash or leather leash gives you a lot more control IF you need it./////yes

LOVE LOVE LOVE!
I purchased my first "Knot-a-leash" 5 years ago when I rescued my first pit bull. My dogs are quite strong, and there was a necessity for something durable, functional, and visually pleasing- -and this product has withstood the test of time on all counts (as I still have my first one)! Big thanks from Emily, Xavier, Brimo and X.E. /////yes
