We kick up our paws in: Southern California

My canine companion(s): Retrievers, Border Collies, Pomeranians

GREAT!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I want my Service Dog "Ellie" to always be comfortable wherever we go. I used to carry a fleece throw in a bag for her and wanted to get something more comfortable but easy to carry. This fit the bill perfectly and Ellie loves it! Ellie & I thank you Ruffwear.

Dog's Name: Sully & Stella

Date of Review: 5/15/2013

We kick up our paws in: Chicago, IL

My canine companion(s): Rottweiler and a Catahoula Leopard Dog

Love it!!!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

The Mt. Bachelor Pad dog bed (size large) fits both of my big dogs on it and they absolutely love it!! I initially bought it for use when camping but it has made its way into the house b/c they love it so much!! The material is soft and the pad is surprisingly supportive. It's incredibly convenient that it rolls up and the non-skid rubber bottom not only keeps the bed dry but keeps it from sliding around on my wood floors.

Date of Review: 5/13/2013

My canine companion(s): Black Lab

Great!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Had this bed for our 100 pound Black Lab and LOVE IT. Cleans up real easy. Easy to move around the house or out the yard. Love the storage for trips. We have had this bed about a week or two, and have had no problems with it! We will buy it again.

Dog's Name: Watcher the Service Dog

Date of Review: 5/8/2013

We kick up our paws in: Sacramento, CA

My canine companion(s): Golden Retriever, Service Dog

Good

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Having a Service Dog, means your dog goes everywhere you need to go, whether that is convenient or not. Since I travel frequently, I have to bring all his gear, including bed along with me. The large Mt. Bachelor Pad weighs a pound less than the inflatable bed I was using, and rolls into a smaller shape that fits luggage and carryon's better. Watcher has tested it out, and gave it a Paws-Up for cushiness and snoozability. The Large is REALLY large. Watcher is a 75# Golden Retriever, and he has room to stretch out on this. My partner's Guide Dog is a smaller 62# Yellow Lab and fits fine on the Medium, but Watcher is too large for it. It's tempting to order the larger because they are the same price, but travelers know that every inch and pound count. Go with the size you really need.

Great product. Can take a lick. Only downside is that the base is slippery, so it slides everywhere. Could use some grip on the bottom.

AWESOME.

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

This is the best bed. It's great for travel, I can throw it on the car seat and both pups are comfortable and keeps the dog hair somewhat at bay. Rolls up super small (we have the large) and can easily throw in the washer & dryer as needed. Love the waterproof back!

Dog's Name: Lilly

Date of Review: 2/22/2013

We kick up our paws in: Northern California

My canine companion(s): Chocolate Lab

Love it!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Lilly is a service dog and we use the Mt Bachelor pad everywhere we go! Most recently we used on the floor of the ER when my son was there. When I pulled it out and started to unroll it, she was so excited she tried climbing in it before I could get it completely open.. so I think Lilly gives it a 5 star rating too!

LOVE!!!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

After trying out several dog beds, we found one "fit for a king"! Elvis loves it! We use it as his "place" wherever we go, he is a service dog for our daughter, so it gets used daily. Live how easy to roll up and carry, love that it doesn't slide on slick surfaces (one of many reasons why Elvis hated his older "places".

Date of Review: 7/25/2012

We kick up our paws in: Alabama

My canine companion(s): standard poodle

good

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

we went ahead and ordered the large as my dog is a service dog and he loves to sprawl out at the ball park. I do wished this came in a cooler material as the flannel is a bit hot for the summer. The bed is plenty large enough for my long poodle legs to have room. and it is nice for the length of his body. He is about 47 lbs but this would be good for a larger dog as well. It is a bit hard to wash as the edges are water proof so you can't throw it over the porch and it drain you have to be a bit creative and make sure it lies flat. It is also a bit hard to roll and latch as the straps are a bit short. I like the handle and it is easy to carry as we go to our various sporting and outdoor events with the kids. a bit pricy to me but still a nice bed

Durable and comfortable

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I've had this pad for about 5 years now and taken it on numerous camping trips, used it in homes, cabins, offices, mountain trails, campfires, beaches, etc. Some have commented it holds odors, I have not found that to be true. I've washed it in a large washing machine on gentle with the top side out, and then air dried in garage. It has held up well - I'm very satisfied with it. I do wish the top comfort side was a bit thicker.

I bought this to travel with. It does not fit in the Palisades backpack, but I suspected that when I bought it. It can be strapped to the top of the backpack though. My dog likes it, and prefers this mat over his other ones, which are the pillow type.

Worst thing ruffwear makes

Would you recommend this product?.: No

It is impossible to wash this. If you put water on it, the water goes through the material to the plastic at the bottom which locks it inside. This way all the dog drool, dirt, and rawhide juice can fester in the water. Eventually it ends up stinking like a shallow pool of polluted still water on a 100 degree day with 90% humidity next to the porta potties. But wait, you think you could solve this problem by hanging it up to dry for 2 days. No, you can't....the bed holds water so well it will stay damp and sticky for weeks. Buy the toys, the leashes, the bags and the life jackets. But do NOT buy this bed.

nice, portable dog bed

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

i ordered a large, and yes it is huge. The portability came as a nice surprise, as the whole bed rolls up into a nice little package. It is a bit too bulky for backpacking, but its great for the trunk of the car. It looks thin to me, but my dog seems to think it has enough padding.

I've had the Mt. Bachelor Pad for about 5 years now. This pad has become my dog's portable mat for home, office, visiting hospitals, when I go speak at camps, and when we're hiking/camping/mountaineering. It's light, and I love the fact that it rolls up so tight and is easy to carry. For backpacking it is a bit of weight, but our dogs are worth it, aren't they?

So far this bed is working great. I love the material on the bottom as it is very durable. Best part is Samson is using it when we are out training. I can throw it in the bed of the truck or on the ground to keep him off of the hot surfaces. Nice thick padding material as well. Great size and nice that it rolls up and has a handle to carry it with. Thank you Ruff Wear.

Most durable bed we have owned

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

This bed has lasted us longer than any other dog bed we have owned, considering one of our mini-husky's hobbies is shredding dog beds. For some reason he has not touched this one. I think he thinks it's too cool to be shredded. Fits perfectly in the back of our Land Rover too!

I'm very pleased with the Mt. Bachelor Pad. We take it everywhere we go (family, friends, e.g.). Our Ridgeback won't ligh down without a blanked. On this pad she is very comfortable. We allso take the pad on our campingtrips. On the pad with a sleepingbag for children over our dog, she is the queen of the tent!

The materials are very durable and easy to clean!

Lifesaver!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

The fact that I can jam this in the washing machine and dry it quickly is the best. It's lightweight and it's not like wrestling a gorilla moving it around the house. Great for old dogs that need a bed around pups that haven't figured out the house breaking business!

It takes a nappin' and keeps on ticking! This hearty yet very soft bed is ready for anything indoors or dry outdoors. The handle makes it very easy to carry.

My BSDs are 42lbs each and the med. size is perfect for them. Got it out of the box, plunked it down and one of them went right to it. My only issue is it isn't easy to roll up. Pad will have to be well used before it rolls up easily.

Ouch

Would you recommend this product?.: No

This can be compared to the the Mustang in the 80's. Once had a great product but the accountants got a hold of it and ruined it. The top is cheep and wont last, the pad is extremely thin, and it holds odors like the workplace microwave. I would spend less $ and get more bed in the Flophouse.

Great for travel!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Our dog Dixie is a tripawd so she needs a little extra padding when we camp. We love that it rolls up relatively small and doesn't take up more room than, say, our tent in the car. We also bring it along when we go to friends' houses. It gives her a familiar place to "go lay down."

We actually haven't taken this bed camping or such, but really just use it in the house as our dog's bed. We accidentally bought the larger size, which was completely unnecessary, but we just fold it in half, giving more it more loft and hopefully longer wear time since our pooch is only laying on one side at a time!

I got this bed after seeing it at REI in Seattle. I like the idea of having a bed to throw down anywhere and know the dog will be on something safe and large enough to protect from snupping around. I wish I had ordered the other larger loft bed that has been pulled, but this is a great bed.

I bought a cheap bed for my Molly and she tore through it in about a month. That is when I stepped up to the Ruffwear brand. This product fits perfectly in her crate and rolls up for easy traveling. She put it through its passes when we first put it down and when she realized this was not some cheap pad; she stopped trying to destroy it. Now she will not sleep without it.

I always had this mat around for trips and for the bottom of the crate during air travel but my Akita absolutely loves it just as it is in the house despite her being a northern breed living in the Caribbean without air conditioning! It also has stood the test of time after years of vigorous use.

I am a dog trainer and in addition to taking this with me on over-night outings with my dogs, I also use this as my dog's "place" when teaching them to stay on their place. It is comfy and won't get dirty from the ground, at least not so much that a wipe won't take care of.
