Great

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Love it, like everything I've purchased from Ruffwear. We like to walk Billy off leash. Sometimes he likes to say hello to the neighbor dogs and we're ready to head home before he is. We just grab the leash and go. Slick and easy as you please.

Good

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Excellent quality. The only thing I wish is that this leash was about 18 inches longer. I think this could easily be accommodated by sliding the adjusting loop up so that it is closer to the clip and would still fit around the dog's neck when wrapped up. Then when in use as a leash, it would give just a bit more length so that when we are running single-track trails, I can hold on to Artemis and not be tripping on her back feet. I often link two of these leashes together and wrap them both around her neck to accommodate, or recently have switched to using the "Flat Out" leash which I can wrap 3 times around her neck and then clip. A great product, just needs to be a bit longer.

Love it!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

What a great idea! Perfect for letting your dog run free quickly and easily without a long leash trailing on the ground behind them. Having your dog be able to carry their own leash is great too, you never have to stash it or hold it while your pooch running around. Minus one star for the velcro close. A snap would be better. Velcro is hard to use with long hair dogs and has a short life span. Overall, love this product and use it often! On a side note: Ruffwear customer service is second to none!

Good

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I have used one of these for several years however for continued use I had a shoe maker install a snap over the Velcro fastener as the long hair of a golden cannot be successfully cleaned off the Velcro for continued use. It was a lot less expensive to have the snap accomplished than to buy a new Quick Draw leash. Ruff wear should provide this option!

So handy having these Quick-Draw, quick-access leashes. From the car to the trailhead, or for quick access on the trail (to avoid unplanned off-trail excursions to check out moose and deer) these leashes are just fabulous.

This has become my new favorite leash for them. Ease of use and the short lead allow me to go from off-leash to leash in a heartbeat. We did a beach day recently and the velcro never came undone, even after both kids were rolling around, swimming, and digging. Easy clean up as well. Loving it!

Excellent mostly

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

These leashes are great. Very handy, easy to work. However, if you have a dog with long hair, the velcro connectors can get dirty. We find they give up after about a year of heavy use, even with regular maintenance. We are on our second set and wil continue using them because they are so handy. Going leash-free is so wonderful...then being able to leash-up instantly when needed is just great.

Only one out there...

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

If you are interested on it, buy it cause there is really nothing else out there like this. If you are like me you have a regular leash for everyday walks, you have a Flat Out leash to put around waist when running, a dress up fancy special occasions leash, and then this guy for your semi-secluded outdoor trips/hikes. Because of this I believe (and I read this as well from other reviews) that RuffWear should try to make this into a fixed collar and leash unit. I also can see how other reviewer would want multiple sizes as my labs have decent size necks (at least where I like this leash to sit) and I'm using almost all the available slack. I find most of the time using this leash not really around the dog's neck but as a very short traffic lead that I leave dangling from collar. Looped to itself using the shortest setting is roughly 5" long. Perfect length for it not be dragging on the floor. I use it like that because whenever I leave and comeback my apt complex and on the sidewalk I want people to see that I am holding the dog (leash laws) then when I get a nice clearing for us to run a little or for him to do his business I just let him go. It is quick grab and I wouldn't have to overuse the velcro by putting on or off around neck >16 times a day. I highly recommend that you only get this product when you have full control of your dog and/or in conjunction with another tool like an e-collar.

My canine companion(s): Big Yellow Lab

Great idea - Barely fits my dog

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

What a great idea but it needs to come in sizes. Dewey is 85 pounds, not an ounce of fat on him but he has a big neck and a very thick ruff of fur and this barely fits around his collar. We have a new 6 month old who is going to be bigger than his brother and unfortunately it will never work for him. If you ever get bigger sizes let me know. Alison

ok

Would you recommend this product?.: No

The idea is good, but the velcro is a little clumsy, and the end of the leash is hard to hold on to, especially if the point of the leash is to be able to grab it quickly.

Good

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I love that on a hike I don't have to carry a leash, but also that I can quickly have him on a leash when I need to (rather than trying to quickly clip a leash on him). I only wish there were different sizes of these though. Seems if his neck were any bigger this size wouldn't fit around to close the velcro.

utility meets function meets style!!!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

This leash was made for my dog. Its perfect. My dog accompanies me at work (occupational therapy) and we are in and out of assisted living facilities all day. Used to be leash on leash off all day although Dewey rarely leaves my side we gotta follow the leash laws. Its a great conversation piece when not in use as a leash. People often ask why he has 2 collars! I could rave on and on....

Awesome

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I got this for my puppy because when he was walking off leash and another dog or person walked by he wouldn't listen to me. So immediately when I saw someone coming I grabbed the quick draw leash (so nice not having to fiddle with putting his other leash on) and wouldn't let him go until we had passed the distraction. We are at the point now where he can say hi to the other dogs and I will call him and he will come to me. I know the leash helped to train him to listen to me even if there are other dogs to play with.

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

This is a very well made, sturdy leash. I seldom need a leash on the dogs but on rare occasions it's very useful to have one right there on the dog. It would be a bit better if the leash and collar were one piece so the clip would be unnecessary and the leash could lie flat against the collar.

Genius!

I am the proud owner of a golden retriever who always enjoys being able to run sans leash. Unfortunately, local and state laws dictate otherwise, and it has led to some interesting moments involving trees while out on a trail. Quick Draw leash to the rescue! Now my golden girl and I can take to the trails and be wild and free when we want to and still have the option to have a leash when we need to. Thanks for an awesome product, Ruffwear!!

I bought this leash for a trip to our cabin in northern Wisconsin. We go hiking with the dogs and this was the PERFECT product. They were able to be off leash but I could grab them and start walking normally with them on leash in a split second if I needed to. Not having to carry a leash was a huge bonus. The quick draw leash is also perfect for the dog park!

Quick Draw Leash for those of you that do things with your dogs off leash but still want a leash, this is it! This leash simply wraps around your dogs collar and Velcro's back down on itself. The simple tab at the attachment point allows for very quick and easy access to the leash on the fly if you ever need it. The leash is the perfect length for walking your dog in the heel position. This leash also has a TON of reflective thread woven throughout so your dog will be more visible at night with this on.

reserved but a terrific idea

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

GREAT idea. The perfect solution for dogs that can be trusted off-lead and the owner not left to tote the leash around. I bought this leash several years ago to use on my MTB/hiking dog. The snap back then was very poor and didn't hold up to the brambles that sometimes grab at you. Broke the first time on the trail!! Still would be a good leash for less active dogs I suppose. However, from the pic it seems the snap has been made stronger so I'm going to give it one more try and purchase another one...

This is a "must have" for our off leash adventures. I dont have to carry the leash when we are on the hike and when we get back to the parking lot he is back on leash in a snap!

MUST HAVE

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

These leashes are ideal for any situation! We use them to take the dogs everywhere! At the dog park, we do not have to carry their leashes around, so both hands are free to clean up poo. On long walks, they can have the freedom to run while we can quickly regain control of their lead when approaching others. They are perfect for our outdoors lifestyle.

Awesome Idea; Too Small

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I absolutely LOVE this idea in theory. We ordered a huge batch of these and they do work exactly as promised and are extremely, extremely handy -- on collars they can snap to. The snap on the Quick Draw is very small and difficult to operate when you can't see it. Otherwise, this product is AMAZING.

Great

I've had a previous version of this leash. Loved it except for the snap, which you've changed. Thanks. The previous snap was funky and hard to clip on and off. The velcro seems to diminish over time when you have dogs like mine who get wet and dirty. I use a rubber band to keep it on now. I used to worry about it getting caught on brush when it plays out. But with the loose velcro, it plays out a lot and never a problem. Plus, my dogs' collars are loose. So if they got stuck, they could easily pull them off their heads. They haven't done that tho. Hard to get velcro to work when dirty.

Brilliant idea. Very handy, yet comfortable for our working dog. Reflective material much more utilitarian than flashing red light for night time runs.

We love this leash. We currently have a 6 month old puppy and this leash has been very beneficial in her housebreaking and training. She wears it all of the time and it doesn't bother her one bit. When we nee to take her outside for potty training we extend the leash and show her where she needs to go potty.

Fabulous!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

We like to run our dogs off leash, but we leash up as soon as someone else approaches, for safety's sake. The quick draw is absolutely wonderful for this purpose. In fact, we just leave them on the dogs all the time now, so we can avoid confrontations with other dogs, or keep our dogs close when other folks and kids approach. They are quick, easy and effective.

My Plott x, Oliver, loves to be off-lead on our hikes. He likes to take his time to sniff and explore. I love the idea of having him wear this collar/leash in case we come across other hikers, dogs, or wildlife. Ollie has worn his Quickdraw Leash on several hikes now and he seems very comfortable in it. My mom just ordered two for her golden retrievers to wear on our upcoming camping trip. Thanks for another awesome product.

Jasmine wore this while we were out at the cabin, and it was PERFECT! I could grab and release the leash very quicky when needed, but didn't have to carry around anything extra. Seemed very comfortable for Jasmine as well.
It came in handy too! One morning we were doing a light hike and I looked up and saw a doe standing less than 10 feet away; I reached down and grabbed the Quick Draw leash, grateful to have it handy.

Took this product all the way from the flat lands of Iowa to the top of Quandary Mountain in Summit Co., CO. This is the perfect "leash" for a dog that can roam responsibly. My pooch Hayden loves it because she can lead the way and still remain safe when we come across others on trails. Thanks Ruffwear!

This is my favorite leash for my super smart and active beast. Just the right length for teaching him trail manners. When he gets to be a free dog, I don't have to juggle the leash. That's especially great when we go for a run on an out of the way trail or to the beach. I'm looking forward to using it on backpacking adventures, too.

My dog has severe generalized anxiety, and frequently gets "paralyzed" both in and out of the house. It's SO great to have a built in leash so we can gently guide him out of his mental freeze without having to go find a leash every time! Thank you!

Very handy when packing and wilderness training.

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

The quick draw leash is easy to use and is always within reach. No wasted time spent opening the pack to find the leash to help secure the dogs on the trail. A great safety feature when encountering deer, moose, dirt bikes or snow mobiles on the trail. I would not use the collar feature in heavy brush as the velcro may not hold causing the leash to play out. We clip the buckle to the dog pack on the cairns when training and hiking and attach the collar to the top of the pack as the width of the collar is a little to wide for small dog's neck.
