Great

I know several other people in my neighborhood that have the same jacket with the same problem. The measurements don't seem completely accurate. I suggest ordering up if your dog is between sizes because it runs on the small side. Otherwise, the jacket is great!!

Very Good

The fit is excellent. Easy to put on. The outer fabric is fragile--small tears from underbrush cause insulating material to pop out. Inner fabric comfortable--he likes it better than fleece--just strengthen outer fabric.

Excellent

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

My doberman puppy loves this jacket, it is lightweight, warm and made with quality materials. The smooth surface of the jacket does not ruffle his short hair and takes only seconds to slip over the head and easily closes with two adjustable side plastic snap buckles and a zipper at the neck. I live in northern Michigan and purchased the Medium gray jacket for my 4 month/50 pound pup that loves to be outside. . Now Caesar is 6 month/70 pounds and is outgrowing this jacket but he can still wear it until the girth adjustable straps are fully extended if I leave the neck zipper open. I will buy the larger size as he matures.

We ski well over a hundred days a year at 63º north. We are in extremely cold weather in high winds most of the time. Our dogs like these jacket as they have full range of leg movement with nothing binding. No fleece to collect snow. They stay warm and are out for hours on days well below zero as we ski and work on ski trails.

We had a recent cold spell in November (about 15 without windchill) and the jacket kept Stella warm and comfortable. I would recommend it to anyone. Okay

Would you recommend this product?.: No

The jacket is okay. If your dog gets into the woods or thickets, the material can tear very easily. It doesn't cover the stomach area. The best part is the red jacket makes it easy to see my dog, and it does keep his back warm. I also own the Cloud Chaser which I like much better, albeit not for very cold weather.

The quality of the product is good but I would not say this jacket is for "extreme" cold conditions, maybe for above-freezing conditions. It's a little pricey for the product. I'm a huge Ruffwear fan, but you can find similar quality jackets at your local pet store.

We backpack in nearby North Carolina Wilderness areas. We have the Cloud Chaser jackets, but the dogs would still get cold in the tent at night and shiver. When they shiver, I don't sleep. The Quinzee jackets are a notch warmer and our last trip was without shivers! We slept great!

Was on a camping trip through Oregon and Ca with the family and Dodger. He was getting a little cold with just the Cloud Chaser so we wanted something a little warmer to go on top. Called up the warehouse to say we were driving through Bend and wanted to come by. Kyle advised us on what item to get and had it ready when we got there. There couldn't have been an easier way to get the coat. Tried it on right there and fit great. I love Ruffwear gear and customer service!

This is the one of the best things I ever purchased. Romeo is a service dog and he has to go out into extreme weather daily to do his job. Nicest dog coat

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

This dog coat is fantastic. The matierial looks like it was made from a real human jacket. I like how it can also be stored in its own stuffsac. Just be careful on the sizing and pay attention to the neck opening and length of the coat because this jacket has no give (doesn't stretch). I was between sizes, so I ended up buying both sizes. The larger one is too big. The small fits better, but I can't zip up the the neck opening all the way. Still, I think it's a great coat, and I wish they would make the neck opening slightly larger on the next version.

Very well made and great for staying warm and dry. Only 3 starts due tot he fit--but that may be my dog's fault! A bit challenging on the fit as my doggie is small but long--it inches up on her back when she walks yet the neck is a bit tight. Otherwise, a great product!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Nice warm coat for dogs. Functional first, fashionable second. My dog fits right in between medium and large, but I bought a large. It's a bit long on her. May buy a second one next year. Use it mostly when we're out below -20C, and when we're on winter road trips I keep it in the car for emergencies. She likes it enough, but probably because she knows if the coats going on it is play time outside!

too large sizing

Would you recommend this product?.: No

i had ordered a large for my dog because of the sizing chart. the large was too big. she slipped out of the harness type coat and chewed the buckles off. The coat is sort of like a sleeping bag which kept her warm when she was able to use it, the buckle straps where stretchy so they came loose often.

LOVE IT.

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Once the single digit temps and snow reached Washington, DC this year, I knew I had to get something warm for my pup to wear on our daily walks. Even though I hesitated at first because of the price, I knew that a long-lasting, well-made coat would be the best choice. I read many reviews and looked at different models before making my decision. I'm happy to report that not only does the Quinzee coat fit his body very well (he's got a long body!), it keeps him warm and makes him look super stylish. He's gotten lots of compliments already. The main reasons why I love this coat so much are: 1) Easy to put on and get off - lifesaver when we need to get out the door! 2) Actually fits super well! 3) Keeps him warm - he used to shiver when it got below 20 degrees F, but now he's happy to run about in his coat no matter the temperature I plan on purchasing more Ruffwear products in the future and have already recommended this coat to other dog moms I know. YAY RUFFWEAR! PS. Henry is a Hound/Catahoula Mix and weighs in at 60 pounds. He wears a medium in this coat.

VERY GOOD

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

My dog and I are work out buddies. he is a long bodied, deep chested dog for his height. we walk/jog and even run in the winter months. i use this out our 3-5 mile walks/runs only when im able to see my breathe in the air. i also use the boots when there is ice/snow on the roads. both products are great and with out them especially the boots, i wouldnt be able to get .4 miles out of him before he lifted his feet. with the coat, he no longer tucks his tail on the walks/runs to stay warm. great products and even better products when used for more than letting the dogs out in the back yard to use the bathroom with, in other wards used for big purpose.

pretty good

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

we use the Quinzee jackets on the JRTs and the Omnijore on my Swedish Valhund. One JRT uses the Green Boots and socks. The Quinzee is great except the flap where the buckles are is too open. I have sewn it down the flaps are constantly wide open and allow cold air in that area. I like the material and the filling. It's light weight and doesn't itch the dogs as past dog jackets have. I love the Omnijore harnes. My Swedish Valhund has had 4 slipped discs in her life and the harness makes carrying her up and down the porch stairs very easy. She doesn't choke or mind the harness a bit. Plus the reflective tapes on it make me happy when we go for night walks. The boots fall off. Perhaps my JRTs legs are too narrow for a good fit but I think the rubber used on the soles is too stiff for flexibility for a 17 pound dog. Getting them on is a wicked chore too. Bummed about that because he really needs the boots on the salty sidewalks.

The absokute best for long-haired dogs

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

For long-haired dogs, the absolute best and ONLY jacket on the market, because, while well insulating, it does not have fleece on the inside, so it does not mat their hair even after hours of wear!! My dog has very little body fat, and a sighthound built, so finding good jackets that are long enough but slim enough for her was a real challenge before I discovered Ruffwear. While very much on the expensive side, none of her Ruffwear gear has ever torn, and she is a super active dog who hikes and runs in the woods rain or shine. She is now wearing the Quinzee for the second season. I wish it came filled with down feathers, but for now, I combine it with the Ruffwear Cloud Chaser underneath when we go out into the snow, to protect her belly, or with the K-9 Overcoat or the Ruffwear rainjacket on top, when it is snowing or raining and the temps are even lower. She wears an XS, which should also be a good fit for an Italian Greyhound or Dachshund.

I ordered an XL for my dog and it is perfect - perfect weight - right size - he looks so good in it neighbors stop us to ask where we got it. He is able to do all of his business in it. Has a zipper at the neck which works so nice - also the straps are adjustable so you can get a really good fit. All other vests my dog hated - but loves this one. Soft and does not rub or grab fur.

Nice product. Fit is generous. I ordered XL based on his measurements. Stays in position. Can feel the warmth if you put hand underneath. My dog is cold natured, so he wears it when temps get under 32deg. He is noticeably more comfortable when wearing it. Easy on/off. Lightweight and doesn't seem to bother him at all. A little worried about whether the portion running under his belly would get soiled by urine, but that has not been an issue. My dog runs through brush, so will need to see how the fabric holds up to thorns, etc. Overall, very happy with the product.

This is the perfect basic garment to help keep my dog warm in extremes. It is warm, and the inside is smooth against the dog's coat, keeping her comfortable. If I could customize it to my extreme outdoor use, I would make the outside fabric slightly tougher to prevent tears and add a bit more reflective material. However, it rates five stars as is. Great quality- maybe not for beagles

Would you recommend this product?.: No

I purchased three items from Ruffwear this holiday season. This Coat, the cloud chaser, and the web master harness. Quite a bit of money to invest, however 90 percent of it was above high quality. This coat is wonderfully designed. you must measure the size of your dogs head/ neck and match it all up. you will avoid some of the issues people had with the heads not fitting. Despite all the measurements the issue I have with it is how it fits my 19lb beagle. I have to tighten it to the point I think I am hurting my pup before the chest part lays flat enough against her chest and therefore does not scoop up snow. I don't like how it is super tight around the head and super tight around the lower part of the stomach and leaves that flap in front sort of loose. she has a muscular thin chest. not wide nor bulky. I believe this may be a product that simply does not fit her body type. Unfortunately she has three legs and I really want to purchase the cloud chaser. I truly wish they would make one with one arm hole instead of 2. Lexi would model that everywhere. sorry but for my beagle this was a disappointment.

I should have gone with the K-9 Overcoat I guess.

nice coat

I have a 3.5 year old, 84lb GSD. He is tall and skinny (I am a veterinarian, when we say our dog is skinny, we mean it). The large fits him great. I was just looking for a fleecy windbreaker since my boy's hair coat seems thin this year. The only coat the local dog store carried that would fit my boy was this "puffy jacket". Probably a bit more coat than any non-short haired dog needs, but thank you to Ruff Wear for making gear for large breeds. Many company's idea of a "large dog" is a border collie, no offense to them intended! Anyway, nice coat, looks great on him. I haven't adjusted it yet, but the slippery inside seems to want to slide around on him, making him do a full body shake a lot. Hopefully I can work around that.

My pitbull loves being warm bundled in blankets and hates the cold, she shivers uncontrolablly. It was hard to find a good fitting jacket for her breed. She's 65-70llbs and I got her size M with help from CS[extremely nice]. I was afraid this jacket wouldnt last since she loves running wild through our wooded lot, but this jacket is very durable quality! Jacket seemed thin but she loves her jacket, and is extruding heat when I take it off. Easy to adjust and easy on/off. The red looks so good against her blue coat and so stylish! Only minor prob was the neck unzips when she's running sometimes. Overall still very pleased with Ruffwear and look forward to trying their other products.

Love it!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I live in Minnesota and it gets pretty darn chilly here, so I needed a really good coat for my Boxer (70 pounds.) Come wintertime, he'll shiver uncontrollably when we have to get into a cold car or go for a walk, and this jacket looked like it could stand up to the frigid temperatures. My biggest concern was fit. Beau is broad in the chest and neck, but not super long in the body, so I was worried it might be too tight up front or too long. It fits perfectly! It's super easy to take on and off and adjust the straps. Even after having it on for a few minutes when I took it off his body was toasty warm. It's incredibly light and almost looks too thin, but again, it really warmed him up. I am actually looking forward to winter this year, knowing Beau and I can bundle up together and enjoy being outside still. I will certainly be ordering another one for my other Boxer.

With a medium sized dog (50lbs) who's just about 11 yrs old, we can 't leave her behind and have her pout about not being able to play in the cold too. This jacket offers her that exact amount of added cold protection that makes all the difference. After the initial fitting and adjusting the quick release buckles are a breeze. We can slide it on and off quickly and she understands that it helps her stay comfortable outside...the reflective material around the base of the jacket is an added bonus for those early morning and evening walks.

Very High Quality

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

We were looking for a coat that would protect Bear from the cold and wind on really chilly days and we found just that! The size medium is a perfect fit and we can even zip it up at the neck, despite Bear having a very large chest and neck. I was worried that the coat would get torn because our dog loves to run through the woods without avoiding briars and whatnot but the material is suprisingly very tough. He loves it and we do too!

Great Coat!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

The coast fits our pup really well. We were looking for something thats good loooking and would be long enough for her slinky body, but fit around her deep chest. The S fit our 50+ lb dog perfectly. My only complaint is that we use an Easy Walk harness and due to the way the coat connects to the neck from the belly.

Cute but disappointing

Would you recommend this product?.: No

I was looking for a coat that would both cover Murphy's chest and be long enough to cover his tush. He is very long and slim. Unfortunately this coat doesn't meet either of these requirements. Will be returning it. This coat would probably work for chunkier shorter dogs.

Cute and warm- wish it fit...

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Ok, so Lily has a big strapping chest but aside from that her frame is pretty small. The jacket fits her chest and then droops on her belly because the straps don't tighten enough. It is easy to get on and off her, though so that's helpful. I may try to find a sweater or something to put underneath it so it isn't so floppy.

Great

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

My concern had been whether or not my english mastiff would fit the coat and would it deter his movement in any way. I am very pleased to say that the coat fits him well, I do not zip the neck due to his neck size-but the length is perfect and he loves it!!! He prances around like a horse when I put it on him and it does not restrict him in any way. Our winters can be tough he and he is comfortable even on our longer walks. Great product!!

Impressinve!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Our dog has very short hair and almost none on his belly. This coat is very lightweight, but keeps him cozy on 10-30 degree morning walks. I'm amazed how well it insulates, and it covers his entire back as he is a long dog. His core body is toasty and warm after a 2 mile walk! We've been looking for an insulated coat, and now we found the perfect one, thank you Ruff Wear!

warm, water resistant, doesn't pick up a ton of hair, easy on/off, fits true per your size chart, stays in place but not so snug that it compresses her natural insulation. Rex is now able to join us on winter skiing and camping trips and stay warm.

My canine companion(s): French Bulldogs

Great Quality

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

This coat is simply the best. It's worth every penny. It not only fits well, it seems so comfortable on Pepper. The quilting is nice quality, thick and soft like any good "human" coat! I did have to take up the length about 2 inches by hand stitching it. French Bulldogs are difficult to fit: the thick neck and oft times short torso length makes it tough to find coats that fit, let alone such a nice coat. Thanks for making such a good product. We do have lots of snow here in Jersey, and we are out walking or playing every day..rain, snow, even in Hurricane Sandy with our Cloud Chaser on! I highly recommend your products to anyone who wants good quality protection for their dog: think Patagonia for animals!

I get a lot of snow and the dogs all still want to go and "romp "all over the place. I bought one of these in a medium, to check the fit, and being a rescue the dogs can take turns with it as its pricy. The coat fits my middle sized dogs really well, and they all really enjoy wearing it, one dog doesn't want to take it off!

Best In Show

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

This is a very high quality coat and like all of the ruffwear products, you can tell a lot of design/thought/engineering went into it. I have dogs that are tough to fit long bodied / big chested and they often fall right at the border of sizing boundaries. I found that going with the smaller size works best as it fits perfect around the chest and neck and only about an inch after the tail end is exposed (which is probably how it is supposed to fit anyway). Overall, I'd say it is the best "puffer" coat out there for dogs.

Great Jacket

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

My Pittie Lady has really short fur. I was unsure to order this jacket because it doesn't get as cold here as the jacket is advertised to handle. But nevertheless, she gets cold at any temperature below 60 degrees (shivers, won't move:-) ). I ordered a medium, and the measurement was spot on. Her girth is 32" so the medium is perfect. She wears it a lot now its getting chilly, its beautiful and a great material. I highly recommend !!

Incredible!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

For those of use who are not ready to say good bye to summer, here is something to be excited for as the temperature drops. The Ruffwear Quinzee is the warm, lightweight dog jacket made of recycled materials, synthetic insulation and offers warmth without the bulk. It comes in XXS, XS, S, M, L, XL in Granite Gray and Red Rock. It retails for $84.95 and worth every pretty penny! I am so excited about this coat for several reasons. I have been on the hunt for the perfect winter coat for Jacob for the last 6 winters and this is very very close to perfection! Some of the issues I had with other dog coats on the market include: 1. Fleece lined on the inside (which his fur sticks to and then itches him on the inside) 2. Not enough coverage for his furless belly 3. Zippers that undo, shift or hard to do up 4. Jackets that move in the wind or the back lifts up over his butt 5. Lack of design, cool factor of the sporty look There are SO MANY cool features about Quinzee and they address all 5 issues I was looking for in the ideal jacket for 'dogs on the go'. Jacob has lived in Niagara Falls as a pup and then Toronto from 1-3 then to Los Angeles from 3-5 and now New York for the last 2 years - He had his share of planes, trains, cars and walks all over. There are 2 quick release buckets on the left and right so it makes putting on and taking off the coat totally painless and easy! The chest and belly are covered and warm with the Quinzee This zipper in the neck part makes it a breeze to put on over his head and the small tab secures and hides the technical zipper (that has a rubber tab instead of metal). The light gray piping is 3M reflector - Great for safety! Totally fashionable, sporty and has that dose of 'Nike' cool. The Light Loop is for night walks, camping and if you want to secure a blinky bike light to your dark dog. Ruffwear is by far the best designed dog apparel company out there that I know of. They keep big dogs in mind, designed for active dogs and also made by dog owners, dog lovers and KNOWLEDGEABLE dog people who know how dogs play, move, live and interact with one another. Now for the coolest feature on the Quinzee ->the STUFF SACK... What is this stuff sack? I thought it was for putting your keys in or something but... I was wrong - It's like a miniature sleeping bag! Roll the Quinzee up and it's compact, ready to go in your suitcase, camping backpack, bike or car. A cute tag to put your name and number on in case collars or tags fall off. Reminds me of my own jacket in grade school. The wind is 50 miles an hour today in Brooklyn and Jacob grabs his Quinzee before our walk and gives it 4 paws up!

When I first got clothing to try out on my dog, she was running around like a mad woman trying to bite it off. When I put the Quinzee on her, she started to want to bite it off but she didn't. I think she was so comfortable with it on. It's very flexible and soft which I loved. It also does its job well by keeping her warm! I would recommend the Quinzee to anyone who is looking for something warm, comfortable, and durable... And stylish!

It's everything I hoped for and more!! My guy is little but a hard working earthdog. We train in the winter for spring-summer trials and this jacket does the trick. Excellent Design. Fits very well.

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

This is like the K-9 Overcoat, but quilt stuffed like a Northface(r) down jacket. Warm and stylish for those early morning and late evening winter walks. I do not recommend this jacket for the dog park, because it seems like it could be easily ripped while roughhousing with friends; however, it is perfect for walking to the park (just remove it prior to any rough housing, and putting on and taking off is very simple). For a more durable coat for running through brush, woods, or playing with other dogs, I recommend the K-9 Overcoat. But for those below freezing temperatures, the Quinzee is the way to go. My dog is a 70-pound boxer with a 30" chest and the medium is a perfect fit. The best part about the coat is the elastic adjustments: so simple and genius. Also, the length is perfect as to not get peed upon. The measurements are accurate. Usually my dog is a large in most things, but the medium was the correct choice.

Very nice jacket! Sparky really likes the Quinzee. It is very well made, comfortable and easy to put on. Keeps my boy warm in a variety of conditions. Works well alone, as layer over the Climate Changer or under the K-9 Overcoat. The "Santa Clause Beard Material" insulation seems to retain body heat. As always...ther could be improvements. 800 fill power goose down insulation and Gore-Tex Membrane would make this the ULTIMATE jacket.

The red color is very nice. And the size was perfect for our pit pull. We usually have a hard time finding something to fit her chest and this one fits great all around. It seemed a little light at first, but after a few minutes of walking outside she is very warm under the coat. The little flaps on the side that cover the clasp seemed a little bit big and loos, but once we are walking I don't even notice them and they don't bother me at all. Love the coat and so does my wimpy pit bull:)

Jackets appear to be well made. Bought two for my two 50lb vizlsas in size Med. Both dogs are in excellent shape but the Medium is way too loose on them. The neck opening is especially large. Jacket is cut more for a lab's build. Returning the mediums and going with small despite their chest measurements being on the large side of medium.
