Excellent Quality

Sizing was issue went to large fits neck chest long enough to cover. Exchange was simple they sent wrong color from original order but it's all good.

Really nice

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Raider looks rocking in his Ruffwear coat! Nice touch with zip front/ neck since he has a broad chest. Gives just the right amount of coverage and warmth! Love the neutral color

Dog's Name: Bear

Date of Review: 2/5/2013

We kick up our paws in: Rhode Island

My canine companion(s): Pit Bull Mix

Very High Quality

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

We were looking for a coat that would protect Bear from the cold and wind on really chilly days and we found just that! The size medium is a perfect fit and we can even zip it up at the neck, despite Bear having a very large chest and neck. I was worried that the coat would get torn because our dog loves to run through the woods without avoiding briars and whatnot but the material is suprisingly very tough. He loves it and we do too!

We kick up our paws in: New York City

My canine companion(s): Staffordshire Terrier Mastiff Mix

Great Coat!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

The coast fits our pup really well. We were looking for something thats good loooking and would be long enough for her slinky body, but fit around her deep chest. The S fit our 50+ lb dog perfectly. My only complaint is that we use an Easy Walk harness and due to the way the coat connects to the neck from the belly.

My canine companion(s): Springer Spaniel

Great coat

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Very warm in temps less than 20 degrees. Easy on and off features. Should have more reflective markings for night time.

Dog's Name: Murphy

Date of Review: 1/23/2013

We kick up our paws in: New York

My canine companion(s): Shepard mix, Husky Mix

Cute but disappointing

Would you recommend this product?.: No

I was looking for a coat that would both cover Murphy's chest and be long enough to cover his tush. He is very long and slim. Unfortunately this coat doesn't meet either of these requirements. Will be returning it. This coat would probably work for chunkier shorter dogs.

Dog's Name: Shisha

Date of Review: 1/15/2013

We kick up our paws in: Italy & France

My canine companion(s): Rhodesian Ridgeback

Good

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

We have bought this jacket for trekking in the French Alps with Shisha. The average temperature was between -1 and -4 degrees centigrade. The jacket worked well and she seems comfortable and warm.

Dog's Name: Lily

Date of Review: 1/7/2013

We kick up our paws in: Denver

My canine companion(s): Greyhound

Cute and warm- wish it fit...

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Ok, so Lily has a big strapping chest but aside from that her frame is pretty small. The jacket fits her chest and then droops on her belly because the straps don't tighten enough. It is easy to get on and off her, though so that's helpful. I may try to find a sweater or something to put underneath it so it isn't so floppy.

Dog's Name: Cesar

Date of Review: 12/27/2012

We kick up our paws in: Pennsylvania

My canine companion(s): English Mastiff

Great

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

My concern had been whether or not my english mastiff would fit the coat and would it deter his movement in any way. I am very pleased to say that the coat fits him well, I do not zip the neck due to his neck size-but the length is perfect and he loves it!!! He prances around like a horse when I put it on him and it does not restrict him in any way. Our winters can be tough he and he is comfortable even on our longer walks. Great product!!

Dog's Name: Kaiser

Date of Review: 12/19/2012

We kick up our paws in: New Jersey

My canine companion(s): German Short Haired Pointer

Impressinve!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Our dog has very short hair and almost none on his belly. This coat is very lightweight, but keeps him cozy on 10-30 degree morning walks. I'm amazed how well it insulates, and it covers his entire back as he is a long dog. His core body is toasty and warm after a 2 mile walk! We've been looking for an insulated coat, and now we found the perfect one, thank you Ruff Wear!

Dog's Name: (A girl named) Rex

Date of Review: 12/17/2012

We kick up our paws in: Seattle

My canine companion(s): Shepard mix

Awesome

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

warm, water resistant, doesn't pick up a ton of hair, easy on/off, fits true per your size chart, stays in place but not so snug that it compresses her natural insulation. Rex is now able to join us on winter skiing and camping trips and stay warm.

Dog's Name: Riley

Date of Review: 12/10/2012

We kick up our paws in: Illinois

My canine companion(s): Yellow Lab

Excellent

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

We purchased the Quinzee (Red Rock) coat for our yellow lab, Riley because she has been getting a late shed and has a little less fur to keep her warm during the winter months. Riley is a "fashionista" and is very sporty in her extra layer of warmth!

Dog's Name: Pepper and Honey

Date of Review: 11/27/2012

We kick up our paws in: New Jersey (South)

My canine companion(s): French Bulldogs

Great Quality

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

This coat is simply the best. It's worth every penny. It not only fits well, it seems so comfortable on Pepper. The quilting is nice quality, thick and soft like any good "human" coat! I did have to take up the length about 2 inches by hand stitching it. French Bulldogs are difficult to fit: the thick neck and oft times short torso length makes it tough to find coats that fit, let alone such a nice coat. Thanks for making such a good product. We do have lots of snow here in Jersey, and we are out walking or playing every day..rain, snow, even in Hurricane Sandy with our Cloud Chaser on! I highly recommend your products to anyone who wants good quality protection for their dog: think Patagonia for animals!

Dog's Name: Dog rescue

Date of Review: 11/18/2012

We kick up our paws in: Skyforest CA

My canine companion(s): All types

Brilliant!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I get a lot of snow and the dogs all still want to go and "romp "all over the place. I bought one of these in a medium, to check the fit, and being a rescue the dogs can take turns with it as its pricy. The coat fits my middle sized dogs really well, and they all really enjoy wearing it, one dog doesn't want to take it off!

Dog's Name: Sarge

Date of Review: 11/18/2012

We kick up our paws in: Omaha, NE

My canine companion(s): Corgi, Dachshunds

Best In Show

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

This is a very high quality coat and like all of the ruffwear products, you can tell a lot of design/thought/engineering went into it. I have dogs that are tough to fit long bodied / big chested and they often fall right at the border of sizing boundaries. I found that going with the smaller size works best as it fits perfect around the chest and neck and only about an inch after the tail end is exposed (which is probably how it is supposed to fit anyway). Overall, I'd say it is the best "puffer" coat out there for dogs.

This vest is perfect for the colder weather. I swear, Leroy gets a little swagger when it's put on. He loves wearing it and I love knowing he's warmer on our walks. No more shivering!

Dog's Name: Lady

Date of Review: 11/6/2012

We kick up our paws in: Mississippi

My canine companion(s): AmStaff/Pit Bull

Great Jacket

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

My Pittie Lady has really short fur. I was unsure to order this jacket because it doesn't get as cold here as the jacket is advertised to handle. But nevertheless, she gets cold at any temperature below 60 degrees (shivers, won't move:-) ). I ordered a medium, and the measurement was spot on. Her girth is 32" so the medium is perfect. She wears it a lot now its getting chilly, its beautiful and a great material. I highly recommend !!

My canine companion(s): Greyhound/pointer mix

LOVE IT!!!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Ruffwear thought of everything here! The fit is great, it stays put without twisting or pulling! It doesn't catch on his fur so he's comfortable and actually happy to wear it! Other coats that I looked at in shops locally are truly a JOKE compared to the quality here. Very pleased!

My canine companion(s): Dogo Argentino x Pitbull

Incredible!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

For those of use who are not ready to say good bye to summer, here is something to be excited for as the temperature drops. The Ruffwear Quinzee is the warm, lightweight dog jacket made of recycled materials, synthetic insulation and offers warmth without the bulk. It comes in XXS, XS, S, M, L, XL in Granite Gray and Red Rock. It retails for $84.95 and worth every pretty penny! I am so excited about this coat for several reasons. I have been on the hunt for the perfect winter coat for Jacob for the last 6 winters and this is very very close to perfection! Some of the issues I had with other dog coats on the market include: 1. Fleece lined on the inside (which his fur sticks to and then itches him on the inside) 2. Not enough coverage for his furless belly 3. Zippers that undo, shift or hard to do up 4. Jackets that move in the wind or the back lifts up over his butt 5. Lack of design, cool factor of the sporty look There are SO MANY cool features about Quinzee and they address all 5 issues I was looking for in the ideal jacket for 'dogs on the go'. Jacob has lived in Niagara Falls as a pup and then Toronto from 1-3 then to Los Angeles from 3-5 and now New York for the last 2 years - He had his share of planes, trains, cars and walks all over. There are 2 quick release buckets on the left and right so it makes putting on and taking off the coat totally painless and easy! The chest and belly are covered and warm with the Quinzee This zipper in the neck part makes it a breeze to put on over his head and the small tab secures and hides the technical zipper (that has a rubber tab instead of metal). The light gray piping is 3M reflector - Great for safety! Totally fashionable, sporty and has that dose of 'Nike' cool. The Light Loop is for night walks, camping and if you want to secure a blinky bike light to your dark dog. Ruffwear is by far the best designed dog apparel company out there that I know of. They keep big dogs in mind, designed for active dogs and also made by dog owners, dog lovers and KNOWLEDGEABLE dog people who know how dogs play, move, live and interact with one another. Now for the coolest feature on the Quinzee ->the STUFF SACK... What is this stuff sack? I thought it was for putting your keys in or something but... I was wrong - It's like a miniature sleeping bag! Roll the Quinzee up and it's compact, ready to go in your suitcase, camping backpack, bike or car. A cute tag to put your name and number on in case collars or tags fall off. Reminds me of my own jacket in grade school. The wind is 50 miles an hour today in Brooklyn and Jacob grabs his Quinzee before our walk and gives it 4 paws up!

Cool, comfy, and high quality

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

When I first got clothing to try out on my dog, she was running around like a mad woman trying to bite it off. When I put the Quinzee on her, she started to want to bite it off but she didn't. I think she was so comfortable with it on. It's very flexible and soft which I loved. It also does its job well by keeping her warm! I would recommend the Quinzee to anyone who is looking for something warm, comfortable, and durable... And stylish!

Outstanding

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

It's everything I hoped for and more!! My guy is little but a hard working earthdog. We train in the winter for spring-summer trials and this jacket does the trick. Allows full range of motion (and being low to the ground) keeps the snow from buidling up on his chest. Easy to adjust, perfect fit and covered buckles top off a magnificent product. Thank you, again, Ruff Wear!

It's not very easy to find coats to fit great danes...the quinzee fits perfectly! It is very lightweight but super warm. Easy to take on and off. Rhino's chest is 38", but he hasn't started filling out yet. It appears he will still have plenty of room once he does fill out!!

this is a great jacket for those of you who are not a little long in the body, and a little svelt in other areas. i tried the xs and the xxs, and neither fit, so it's back to wearing the ruffwear fleece and being a bit cold on these frigid maine days. would recommend the quinzee for those of you who are "normal" in size; let's hope ruffwear comes up with the "in-between" sizing soon ! we half jacks and half chiwawas gotta stick together here ! we love ruffwear !

Excellent Design. Fits very well.

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

This is like the K-9 Overcoat, but quilt stuffed like a Northface(r) down jacket. Warm and stylish for those early morning and late evening winter walks. I do not recommend this jacket for the dog park, because it seems like it could be easily ripped while roughhousing with friends; however, it is perfect for walking to the park (just remove it prior to any rough housing, and putting on and taking off is very simple). For a more durable coat for running through brush, woods, or playing with other dogs, I recommend the K-9 Overcoat. But for those below freezing temperatures, the Quinzee is the way to go. My dog is a 70-pound boxer with a 30" chest and the medium is a perfect fit. The best part about the coat is the elastic adjustments: so simple and genius. Also, the length is perfect as to not get peed upon. The measurements are accurate. Usually my dog is a large in most things, but the medium was the correct choice.

very nice

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

The parka is very easy to get onto my dog, and it keeps him nice and warm. I, too, wish I had read the reviews prior to ordering, because even though the chest measurement is fine, it is a little long...sometimes his tail gets caught under the back. Otherwise, great. (Had to buy the Quinzee, for the name, if nothing else!)

Ruff Wear Does It Right On This One

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Very nice jacket! Sparky really likes the Quinzee. It is very well made, comfortable and easy to put on. Keeps my boy warm in a variety of conditions. Works well alone, as layer over the Climate Changer or under the K-9 Overcoat. The "Santa Clause Beard Material" insulation seems to retain body heat. As always...ther could be improvements. 800 fill power goose down insulation and Gore-Tex Membrane would make this the ULTIMATE jacket.

Wonderful

The red color is very nice. And the size was perfect for our pit pull. We usually have a hard time finding something to fit her chest and this one fits great all around. It seemed a little light at first, but after a few minutes of walking outside she is very warm under the coat. The little flaps on the side that cover the clasp seemed a little bit big and loos, but once we are walking I don't even notice them and they don't bother me at all. Love the coat and so does my wimpy pit bull:)

great looking jacket

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

these jackets run big, and for an in-between size, i'd recommend the smaller size---waiting for that to arrive, and hoping it's goinog to fit properly. have noticed other people saying the same---size chart or sizes should be adjusted.. overall it looks very impressive, hope it wears that way this winter.

Charley was between the XS and the S, neither size fit very well. I wish they did, he needs a parka! Very nice products.

Great Coat

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

This is a perfect coat. Fits our Great Dane perfect. Other coats were too short from neck to tail. This coat covers her entire back. Very easy to throw on and off. Love it. So does Josey!

Great

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

The Jacket is easy to put on and off and seems to hold up well to my dogs rough and enthusiastic life. He is a 32 lb Mongrel with a 27 " chest. Thin and wiry. The jacket I got was a;arge and the chest section is a little loose buit if I had gotten a medium it would be too small. Overall , very satisfied.

Ok

Would you recommend this product?.: No

I was a 19 lb beagle and was looking for a jacket to keep her warm and dry when we hike in the snow. I was expecting the jacket to be heavier filled. It bunches up so her hind quarters are exposed. I think if the strap was placed lower it would work better. The jacket does keep her dry but not warm.

Pros:Great Jacket. Made well and easy to get on and off. Nice color gray. Cons: The reflective logo is peeling but not a big issue. A bit pricy for the smaller sizes. They should pro rate according to size.

Jackets appear to be well made. Bought two for my two 50lb vizlsas in size Med. Both dogs are in excellent shape but the Medium is way too loose on them. The neck opening is especially large. Jacket is cut more for a lab's build. Returning the mediums and going with small despite their chest measurements being on the large side of medium.
