Nice, but didn't work for us.

Would you recommend this product?.: No

I measured his paws, and ended up buying 3 pairs of boots in different sizes to try. The front boots fit great, but the back boots always twisted around, or simply fell off while he played. I also bought the socks, and tried the boots with and without them. The boots seem to be high quality, but they just wouldn't work, so I returned all 6. Let's face it, dogs aren't meant to wear shoes.

Good quality, but will not work for all

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Despite measuring paws and ordering different sizes for fore and hind, the booties simply would not stay on longer than a few minutes of running. I had no issues with the buckles, the boots stay fastened just fine but gradually slide down with each step until they are flopping around and fall off. I spoke with customer service who was very friendly and understanding, and apparently it depends on the foot/ankle shape which ultimately comes down to breed...they work for some but not others. CS suggested using vet wrap around the ankle to give the bootie something to securely fasten around. This product is well made, and according to a pet store owner they have undergone lots of testing. I'm sure they work great for some dogs, unfortunately not for my German shepherd mix.

Well Made, But They Fall Off

Would you recommend this product?.: No

Bought these to protect our pooch from both the cold and from goatheads. However, they kept falling off when our dog runs. At this point, I feel these were a waste of money. Now, if someone at Ruffwear can give some directions as to how to keep these on our dogs feet that have not already been mentioned by others who have had the same problem, I would like to hear them.

Well made, won't stay on

Would you recommend this product?.: No

I got these boots for my German shepherd because during winter my apartment complex throws a ton of salt all over the ground and it stings his paws very badly; also, when weather is below 10 degrees he can't be in the snow long without picking up his paws and whining. I want to rate these a 5 because these boots look very well made, but they just WON'T STAY ON!! I have tried different sizes and socks, and they fall right off when he walks around. They must be great for the dogs that can keep them on though!

I would love to talk about this product, but the first time my dog wore it out in the field, it became loose from her running and fell off. I no longer have the boot because its somewhere in a field.

Would you recommend this product?.: No

Have meticulously followed the sizing and fit instructions. Started out with size small, then XSmall, then Medium, and finally back to small. After numerous attempts to get these boots to work I’ve gone from disappointed to disgusted.

Excellent

Keeps her feet dry & clean which can be a challenge in Minnesota. Half the year we have snow a quarter of the year is wet & the rest is beautiful so we need these boots to both protect her feet & reduce the need to clean our floors

protects paws DOES NOT KEEP THEM DRY

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I am grateful to have a way to protect Rudi's paws from pebbles, stones, rough patches of road etc... However it is always damp here (I do not walk him in the rain) and these boots ARE NOT WATERPROOF, it would be great if they were, why doesn't someone realize we want to keep our dogs feet DRY?

Excellent

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Thank you for making it an option to purchase individual boots - we use to have 4 smalls and after an extended walk, she would lose the back boots. We now have two smalls and two x-smalls and they stay on perfectly. No other boots compare for walking slushy, salted roads. And no more carrying my dog through town when her feet started hurting without her boots! I highly recommend paring them with the sock liners - so much easier to put on. I did not find that the liners changed the needed boot size (I was originally worried about the increase in volume).

great

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I love the design and how easy JJ can walk in them and keep his footing. The only problem we come across is that I have to tighten very tight and it starts to cut into his blood supply!!! But at the end of the day he enjoys the walk so much more because his paws are not cut up!!

well designed and assembled

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

We've tried several boots to protect our dog's paws from the salt crystals and antifreeze that are staples of the 6 month+ winter season. The Polar Trex double closure, impervious tread sole, and paw centric design fit easily, stay on, and protect from the various anti-ice/snow chemicals. We have always had trouble protecting her dew claw from cutting into her leg but have found, and regularly use, a veterinarians bandage (3M Vetrap) that sticks to itself. We wrap it around her leg under the dew claw. With it her leg does not get cut. We purchased different sizes for front and rear paws and are pleased with the results. Although Suzy Q would prefer not to wear boots she definitely prefers them to bare paws in winter conditions.

nice design, needs tweaking

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Buddy LOVES being outside, happiest dog in the world on the other side of the door! He runs so fast through the woods and over the cliffs even in the summer that he gets his pads all ripped up and limps on them for a few days after a long hike. I wanted to get him something to protect his feet from icy, salty, cold sidewalks and rocks in the winter so I went with these boots. One of the first times I took him out, he lost one of the boots and I looked for ever and could not find it (Ruffwear kindly replaced it for me), but I am still cautious of him losing another. Maybe I will try putting socks on him to make them stay on better or I will have to rig a bungee through his coat to each boot or something! Trial and error I suppose:/

Getting the right size is the key to success. Easy on and off! Stays on in deep snow...while running. My golden wears medium. Good for rain and mud. Paws are dry. No more snow clumps!!!!! Size chart is accurate.

We kick up our paws in: Arizona

My canine companion(s): Std poodle

Looks great, but needs some more work

Would you recommend this product?.: No

We bought these to head out to snowy country in the White Mtns of AZ. Firstly, the sizing was not appropriate despite taking very careful measurements and following the sizing guide on the website. If in doubt, go with a smaller size. Second, the sole of the shoe is not flexible enough forcing the dog to walk on their toenails or front pads. It just doesn't bend adequately at the rear of the paw. The fabric covering the top of the paw is not stretchy but rather has a pleat to allow for movement, however, I don't think this is the best design as the pleat allowed a crease to form over our dogs paw which would have led to rubbing. I found the elastic cord and clip at the top of the boot quite fiddly to use ... it is so small, cute but difficult to release. I think the concept of a snow boot is great but the design is still a work in progress.

poor

Would you recommend this product?.: No

The snow and ice tears up our dog's feet leading to a bloody mess. I was very excited about the boots for protection, but was very dissappointed in the performance. The cam buckle is very poor quality and does not hold the strap. Hence, the boots come right off, whether in the house or out in shallow snow. A recall would be appropriate to provide functioning cam buckles for these $90 boots!

Great boot for dogs that will be walking/lightly jogging but definitely not for playing/romping in the snow. Also, I'd say these run a size big versus the sizing chart.

Great

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Our dogs are very active. We have used the regular Bark'n Boots for several years. The high tops are great for the Collie. Much easier to put on with the cam buckle and to keep on with the extended gaiter. I also liked the fact that I could order individual boots since his feet are different sizes.
