Fantastic

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

This is great. Gator and I go on 6 to 8 miles runs two or three times a week. He is able to carry our water, his water bowl, my keys, poop bags, and my cell phone along with energy gels. This is comfortable on him and it has not bothered him from day one.

Love it!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

This pack stays put without adding cumbersome weight or prohibiting full range of motion. I love the reflection trim but wish the pack provided even more since I often start my runs before the sunrise. Clarabella has definitely learned that if I'm filling the bottles & getting her pack together, that it's time to go!

Great pack

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I've had trouble getting a pack to stay in place for real hiking. This one has a good harness system and nice leash options. Some of the hiking in the Cascades are hot and dry, I'm glad she can carry her own water now!

Great!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

It took Darwin a couple trips to get used to the empty pack, but now he carries two full water bottles for all our hikes and mountain bike rides like it's nothing! He doesn't mind at all and I love how easy it is to ensure my dogs have water on our outings. Great product!

My canine companion(s): Australian Cattledog

Easy for Moxie to get used to.

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Our female Cattledog, Moxie just loves her Singletrak Pack. Before our trip to Colorado, I got her used to it in just a few walks, increasing the load from nothing to fully packed. She quickly became accustomed to the pack, and even showed excitement when I would get it out just like she does when she sees her leash. When we got to Colorado, we did a 14 mile hike, and she toted her own water and snacks the whole way! Love you, Ruffwear!

Excellent

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

This pack is almost PERFECT. It fits and stays on dog without moving. Is not bulky and small enough for dog to run and move around easily. The only thing that I would change, would to put a snap buckle like the ones for chest and belly at the neck.

Absolutely wonderful!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Levi is a Diabetic Alert dog for me and I needed something that would hold my glucose meter and his treats but not be too big to easily maneuver around in public. This was perfect. It doesn't slide all around and holds everything I need without being too bulky!

Great for hikes

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I love this pack and use it with my two 55# mixed breed dogs. They have relatively deep chests and lean bodies but from the other reviews I was confident the pack would fit, it does and the adjustable straps are perfect. Take some time at home to adjust everything and make sure it fits well before going out with it. We use this pack regularly when we go out for hikes and it is perfect. My dogs are very high energy and they race through the scrub and brush at full speed. This pack has not gotten caught on anything and it doesn't seem to slow them down too much either. The craftsmanship is good and, as I've said, my dogs go through scrub and brush and so far the pack has held up well. There is room enough for the water bladders plus other little necessities which lightens my load when we are out on the trail. Overall I'm very pleased with this pack and think it is perfect for keeping my dogs hydrated and is big enough for short day hikes as well.

My canine companion(s): Brittany

Wears her down

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

We use this pack on my 29lb Brittany on hikes. She's a puller so when we fill up the bladders with water it slows her down which is good because she's got lots of energy. My only concern is that if you've got more water in one bladder than the other she's lop sided and then we have to even out the pack. It is worth it though.

LOVE IT!

We really love this product. Sasha doesn't like it so much, but she's still getting used to it. It fits her perfectly and there is a TON of room in the backpack. I love how the bottles are removable so you can put other things in there as needed.

Very Good

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I have one recommendation that would change my rating to excellent. The strap that goes around the neck should have elastics closest to the pack like the other two straps around the chest and stomach. I purchased and l/xl and had to return it because the length of the pack was too long. It rested right against his genitals. I returned the pack and ordered a medium. All fits well except the neck. I feel it might be a little too tight. If it just had those elastics to give it some give it would be perfect. By the way I just want to say the RuffWear has excellent customer service. I dealt with Moira and she was so nice and very helpful. ***Please ignore my one star rating that I posted on April 30, 2014. I was just reading reviews today and saw mine and realized that I mistakenly gave it the wrong rating... sorry RuffWear.

My canine companion(s): retriever/chow chow mix & terrier mutt

Perfect slim pack

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Before Sadie got used to her pack she would walk everywhere sideways and kept bumping into things. But after a few small walks she loved it. It carries enough water for our two dogs plus a collapsible bowl and treats. The lightweight material and venting keeps her from overheating even in the Vegas sun. She now feels so comfortable in her pack she even swims in it.

Perfect Fit!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I tried many packs for my 48lb Vizsla mix whose chest is sort of deep but with a very skinny waist and nothing fit her right - they always slide off to the side. This has many points for adjusting the size and it fits her perfectly. She is comfortable in it and can even run off leash wearing it due to its low profile. We've had it for over a year and it has held up really well w/ no signs of tearing.

good

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

This pack is working well for my dog so far. It fits nicely and doesn't slow him down at all (sigh).Even with all the running around it stays in place and doesn't seem to limit his activity. He seems to like wearing it too, he walks right into the harness and off we go. One complaint: the platypus bottles make the water taste like plastic. I'm replacing them with non-BPA bottles of similar size and shape. But I think the pack should come standard with the newest non BPA bottles.

My canine companion(s): Malamute & Malamute/Husky mix

Awesome

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

We wanted a pack for our male Malamute to give him a little weight to wear him out a little more on our hikes, but we didn't want a big pack that was bulky. This pack is perfect for our needs, plus he gets to carry the water for himself and our other dog. Great pack for those short or half day hikes, which we do about 5 or 6 days a week. It was easy for Helo to get used to the pack and he didn't miss a beat on our hikes.

Date of Review: 3/26/2014

We kick up our paws in: Bakersfield

My canine companion(s): lab

fantastic

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I got this pack mainly because of the pockets and the bladders. I have a service dog, so Rocco goes every where with me. I have a backpack of supplies, for him and me, so it's nice that he can help carry somethings. Since he's a service dog sometimes he has to wear the pack for very long hours. He never has a problem with it. I just needed to readjust the straps a few times till it was perfect for him.

Just right

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

We were looking for something that would allow us to go on day hikes with our dog, and this is the perfect pack for that. There's no reason to buy a bulkier pack for a dog who won't need to carry much, so this worked out perfectly. The fit has many points for adjusting - it slides around a bit but I think I just need to tighten it. My dog can drink right from the water bladders without a bowl, which is good because a bowl big enough for his snout would not fit in the pack, though it can hold some treats and a chew toy in addition to the water. It suits our needs and is very well made. Bodie is 75lbs and wears the medium. Ruffwear support is great, too - I emailed them about the fit and they were very helpful.

perfect and well made quality product

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

When I bought this Single Trak Pack first there was delivered the "old version", and yes the straps loosen after a while!!! Now, after some weeks later my friend orderd the same product and got delivered an updated version with a better strap holder, an additional, important plastic part that prevents loosen!!! When you select the "Left Side" part of the current Single Trak Pack picture you can see the important additional plastic part on each strap!!! I returned the Single Trak Pack for getting the new version. So be care to get the important modification of the updated version!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Single Trak Pack from Ruffwear is the perfect trakpack for my Aussie, small, compact and enough room to carry his own water and all the day's essentials without sliding around or shifting. It looks great and is made of well made quality. Think about, you get what you pay for!!!

great quality! you can't go wrong with this.

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I was sceptical on spending the premium on this pack, but it's worth every penny! Charlie adjusted quickly to wearing it and it did not appear to cause any irritation. The handle along the back allowed me to easily grab him and access the pack. The pack has extra space to carry my small, personal items, too. GREAT for our long trail runs. And personally, it looks great! I have the most stylish, up to date, 4 legged running partner! Hope they make different colors soon!

Great product.

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I think this bag is made out of high quality material. I was very waited about receiving this bag as it is my first for my companion. Her and I go hiking a lot and long walks. She is about three years old and has never carried anything so she is a little scared of it. She seems frozen when I first put it on..everytime.. but she just runs along when we finally get outside. The pockets are great for the dogs to carry their own water. It has extra pockets that I use for potty bags and extra things (knife, identification information in case she's got off, Basic first aid) Overall, Great product. Easy use. Only recommend making it easier to adjust.

Wonderful!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Tucker is my service dog and this is the main vest that we use. I can store his water bottle, extra collar, bowl, potty bags, treats, his place mat, and even my medical needs. We have the older version also, and this version has a few updates I enjoy, the main thing being the ends of the zippers are now covered and so far the straps stay in place better. I like the new fabric that is against his fur, it seems much lighter and very durable. Another wonderful product! Thank you!

We kick up our paws in: Ann Arbor, MI

My canine companion(s): Border Collie/Aussie mix

Perfect

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

We wanted a small, sleek pack that would allow our dog to carry a bit of water and other items and that would also weigh her down a little and help drain her of her energy. Most of the other packs out there are boxy and rather large. The Singletrak is perfect. It takes a while to get the adjustments dialed in, particularly the chest portion of the harness. Once it's done, though, it hardly moves at all. Our dog can run, jump, and romp through the woods without it sliding around or shifting. I know that reviewers of previous version of this pack complained that the straps loosen after a while. I don't know if Ruffwear addressed this issue with this version or not, but I can say that we haven't noticed any straps loosening after our 5-mile day hikes.

Love it

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I got this for my frustratingly hyper dog. I'm a runner and take him with me, but he's only tired after mile 8-10, and I don't always run that far. I wanted a lightweight, streamlined pack to help tire him out. Other packs were too big and would bang against his ribs and bounce around. This is small enough that with just the full water bottles there's minimal to no bounce. While it adds little extra weight, it does help wear him out. I will also freeze the water come summer to help keep him stay cool. My favorite part is that the second I put it on him he dramatically calms down. When he's jumping around like a spaz, I snap it right on him just to make him calmer around the house.
