It works really well for cooling the dog. She stopped panting immediately after it was put on.

While I have not used this product yet. I have to give five stars to Ruffwear's customer service. I ran out of time to exchange this product for a different size and they extended the return window, no questions asked. We are an outdoorsy family, and take our dog with us everywhere. However we also live in North Carolina, where it's not the heat that will get you but the humidity. I'm constantly worried about keeping our dog cool while still letting him be a dog outside, I cannot wait to use this during the summer!

My dog is a thin-coated pointer and has a tough time in extreme temps. She’s had a winter windbreaker all her life but we’ve avoided hot weather walks entirely until now. The swamp cooler vest is great. It keeps her cool on mid-day full sunlight walks even when temps are in the low 90s.

We have a rescue dog that had mange as a puppy. As an adult, she now has an extremely thin coat. With black skin and basically no hair, she overheats quickly on summer mountain outings. This jacket kept her cool and noticeably happier on the trail. Our only issue is her chest diameter was on the cusp between a size L and M. We should have gone with the M, as this jacket is too big on her. Spendy investment for the wrong size. Live and learn.
