Loved the overall design and construction of the collar. All of the findings are well designed and perfectly finished. The flat buckle and self centering leash clip is just great. Looks great on Toby as well.

Like the one-piece anodized aluminum V-ring and the separate ID attachment including a tag silencer that reduces tag jingle. Keep up your good work, I am a Ruffwear fan

I really liked this collar when it first arrived last week, until I went take it off... It is way too sharp and feels like it is cutting my adult male hands when I buckle/unbuckle it. I put it around my neck before and it is not good. I really liked everything about it except the pain/damage that it causes. Would not recommend unfortunately. This has cut my 1 year old male pitbulls neck, only using it only as a decoration and a place to hold the tags (IE not attaching a leash), just from playing with other dogs in the park.

I am very impressed with the workmanship and quality of this collar. The leash ring truly stays on top and is always easy to find. I'm ordering the Top Rope collar for my two other Pyrs.

18 mo old Shepherd thats strong as an ox, she likes it and we love the D-ring that stays on top. Buckle is a bonus. Had to adjust a few times after some strong pullls but no big deal. if she out grows it will be buying another one

I was very happy when I received the collar. It looked sturdy and well made. There was no way the dog was breaking the buckle on it (which is the problem I have been having). The best thing about the collar was the fact that it was very quiet. Tag jingles were virtually non-existent. I loved the flat metal buckle and the overall look of the collar, it was sharp. I use a martingale to walk the dog so I cannot comment on the leash loop at the back of the collar. Unfortunately the dog decided to slip it off one night, eat the plastic piece that adjusts the size of the collar and rendered it useless. BUT the buckle never failed, so it 100% lived up to my standards. Now my dog is another story...

Initially ordered five of these collars. The features hardware and construction are the best. Great looking. and secure.

Great collar, purchased the green, looks great on a black dog, along with his quinzee coat. Only comment is the buckle is a little large for a small dog (under 15 lbs). It's all about Humphrey looking cool though, and he does!

By far the best investment in a quality product. At the dog park lots of dogs really like to play "ruff" and grab at the collar a lot. It has taken a ton of abuse and is held up great so far. I would defiantly buy another one when its time to be replaced.

I didn't expect the collar to be so light weight, at first I was disappointed but it is a totally awesome collar, no more leashes under the front legs when walking! And they look so dressy:) My pit X has a little longer hair and she doesn't like to wear it because it pulls on her hair..

My dog loves his new collar and the weighted buckle makes this the easiest clip-in collar I have ever used.

My lab has broken the plastic buckle on other collars. She's not going to pull this one apart. We go on a lot of walks and it's great to have the V-ring always on top and ready for the leash.

Bought this collar for a couple of reasons: the first is that the color options were a lot better than what we could find at our local pet store; the second is for the collar's features. Specifically, the dog tag silencer, separate leash attach point, and buckle. Although the dog tag silencer won't prevent 100% of the sound, it definitely helps! We have a six month baby in the house, who would always wake up whenever our dog would scratch behind her ear with her old collar. With this collar, the sound is somewhat muted, allowing baby to continue to sleep. The metallic buckle reminds me of an airline buckle, except the release are two tabs on the side. The trim of the collar also has a reflective stripe which is definitely an added safety feature.

This is made so well I would recommend it to all dog owners!!!

This collar looks great on my dog. It's wide and strong. My dog is a pit bull and a service dog, I try to keep everything simple, neat, presentable and non-intimidating with him. This collar helps with that. I used to have a simple leather collar on him, and that made him look to aggressive.

I love this collar. My dog is a Pit Bull/Rat Terrier mix, so he has lots of energy and strength. We live in the city, so on our evening walks we occasionally see a rat which brings out the Rat Terrier in him. With the metal clasp, I don't have to worry about his Pit Bull strength breaking free. My only criticism would be the color choices. I love the blue, but wish the collar was available in a darker blue.

Not a fan of the clasp, but am of Ruffwear collar design in general.

Solid construction as with all RuffWear products. Fit is difficult with the adjustment slider that will loosen over time.

This is THE collar. As I have noted in other reviews... my dog pulls! He is also my running partner and when I need to have him leashed, this keeps him secured. He breaks other collars on a regular basis.

Love the design except the clasp. Clasp is too big, snags. I perfer a qyuick release plastic buckle for safety. I returned the collar because of the clasp.

I love the collar because the METAL leash loop is always on top of their neck (no twisting while walking). The only thing I would change is to make the actual clasp a tiny bit smaller--it seems to be a bit big for my dog being on her neck under her jaw all the time. But I love the strength and design of the metal clasp and collar in general! Tags are away from leash and collar at all times!

A little while back I wrote quite a negative review about the Knot-a-Collar. I had bought the collar (along with some other gear) and my dog had lost it after just one week of wearing it. In addition to my review, I wrote a letter to Ruffwear and I was very pleased with their response. They sent me a Tope Rope Collar, because it had a stronger, metal buckle. I didn't want to write a review right away, because I wanted to see how this collar worked out first. So far it has been great. My dog has been wearing it for more than a month now and it doesn't come loose like the Knot-a-Collar did. It also fits comfortably around my dogs neck. It did indeed live up to my expectations and with this positive review I would like to thank Ruffwear for their efforts to keep customers satisfied. I will definitely buy from you again. Cheers!

Our Top Rope keeps coming loose. Four days ago I tightened it as small as it would go (14") with the plastic loop right up against the dog tag patch. In four days, it loosened by three inches and our dog can wiggle her head right out. My wife and I have experienced this multiple times now. The collar simply will not stay secure. The weighted buckle system works as advertised but we can never feel safe walking the dog unless we check her collar size multiple times per day.

I have waited for the perfect collar for my special little dog and found it in the "top" collar! The color is beautiful for him, the size, just right and the closure clasp stylish and rugged. I love the separate tag ring from the leash attachment!

Love it!!! Lightweight but very durable

I originally had a hoopie collar, but my dog pulled so hard on one occasion that the break away snap did what it was designed to do--it broke away! At that time, Ruffwear didn't have another collar that I liked that did not have a breakaway snap so I ended up using a semi-slip collar. Then they came out with the Top Rope collar and my prayers were answered! This collar is easy to put on, strong, and looks great! Way to go RuffWear!

Great looking collar - sizing is a bit off. Love the silencer for the dog tags. We are able to cruise by the homes where dogs could hear us coming and wake up the neighborhood.

I have these collars on very active dogs. They hold up beautifully and the metal buckle doesn't fail, but releases quickly when needed. One of the best collars I have owned.

Best made collar period - plus makes my dog look pretty hip and cool amongst the pack.

We wanted to like this collar. Within the first few weeks it started to snag, we talked with warranty. They sent us a new one and then in a week the new one did the same thing. We also noticed that that is was rubbing our dogs neck raw where the buckle sat. We are disappointed with this collar.

This collar is absolutely fantastic. I've been using it for several weeks as a replacement for the Hoopie collar, which kept popping open when my dog pulled against his leash. I was very concerned that he might break free when walking near traffic. The sturdy clasp on the Top Rope collar gives me confidence that he won't break free, and, on top of it, looks very attractive (my neighbor comments on how great the collar is every time she sees it). Although the clasp is somewhat heavy, the weight doesn't bother my small dog at all, and I love the fact that he doesn't jingle as much when he's running.

Top Rope Collar was a purchase of mine WAY back when they first came out. In fact they had to discontinue them because of the buckle not working properly under load (from what I heard). I loved my Top Rope Collar so much I just kept using it. They have revised the Top Rope Collar now with a new buckle and while I have not had the chance to use this new version I can share my experience with the old version. Being very active with my dogs I do a lot of off leash activities and this collar allows me to quickly leash my dogs when the time comes since the leash loop is always at the top and protruding from the collar.

the buckle is sensational, super slim and smooth on the inside, the extra dog tag clip is fantastic, so is the v ring. but the absolute best is, that it is the first collar that my dog really likes. while with all previous collars he kinda dodged putting them on. with this one, after wearing it once he now sits and holds up his head voluntarily for me to put the collar on. he clearly loves it!

We stand by the Ruffwear name and have many of your products. We ordered the Top Rope collar and love everything about it, except we noticed that it slips when the collar is wet. Our dog loves to swim and the collar continuously adjusts on its own. Would order another if this slight problem is worked out in the collars's design.

This is a beautiful collar that screams high quality. I particularly like the solid feel of the metal buckle snapping into place and the aircraft aluminum loop for attaching the leash.

Very well made. The buckle is very high quality. I wish the material was a little thicker but I still think it is the best collar my dog has had. The clip is suppose to stay on the top (since the buckle is heavy) but that isn't always the case for me since she has a heavy, custom dog tag that weighs it down. I think a better design would be to have the tag holder and buckle next to each other - this would insure the weight is on the bottom causing the clip to stay at the top. I really can't complain though bc I love this collar - I just tend to be picky in design since i studied engineering.

Like everyone else I've owned many types & brands of collars. This is the best! Form & function. It's elegant & simple look hide it's rugged durability.

I loved the first one I bought so much I bought another. I have two siberian huskies and they pull a lot so I need a burly collar that I feel won't break. This collar does the trick. Dogs seem to love it, too. Only thing is they say it is suppose to keep the clip on the back of the neck to be easier to put the leash on...I don't find it does that very well, but personally I don't care about that feature. A def. buy again when they get more colors :)

Collar material felt too light at first but once I got it on the dogs with the tags on, I was happy with it. Purchased red and blue and they both look great. The design with the metal buckle at the opposite spot from the leash ring is great!

This collar looks good on my black Lab/Shepherd mix. I like the top ring for the leash and that his dog tag does not jingle when we go out for a run due to the rubber disk on the tag ring. Well made closure. This is just another great product from Ruff Wear!

I have to say I read the first review and didn't plan on getting this collar. I went to our local pet store and saw it in person and ended up getting it. The collar looks great and I have gotten numerous compliments. I guess in reference to the first review like any collar make sure you get the appropriate size. We are headed to get another for our other Golden Retriever. Keep up the great work Ruff Wear!!!!

It's obvious a lot of thought went into this collar. I love the metal buckle. The cheap side-release-buckles tend to fail too quickly, and can malfunction if the dog's hair gets in it. Not with this cool metal buckle. I love the tag silencer feature, and that the tags get their own ring, separate from the leash ring. I also like that the leash ring floats, and can be moved to the position you want along the collar. I like having options. They offer many great colors too boot. The only thing left untested to is to see if the collar gets funky from a wet dog. So far, I love it.

Great product. Durable, practical, and the reflective threading is a must for any dark-coated dog.

Got this collar for my larger dog (a 75lb boxer/pit mix). I love it aesthetically but unfortunately what i feared when i saw the pic came to fruition - the metal buckle was pinching the skin on her neck. Returning and getting a hoopie
