Well made and did a good job

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I purchased this harness to help our 16 year old family friend get up on her hind legs when it was time for a walk. It helped a great deal but sadly, after two days of use, we were forced to put her down and end her pain. We all miss our dear Frisco but feel at peace with our decision. I recommend the product as it is sturdy and appeared to be comfortable while in use.

Love it!!!!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Great all over fit. Reason for buying it was because we were going on vacation to Colorado and I needed something that my dog could not wiggle out of. He could not get out of it so it was worth the money. He measured 21" around the chest and the XS was perfect size. Plus I love the handle on the back top. It made it easy for me to help him jump back into the car. Great product, very happy customer!

Nice harness!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I purchased this harness along with a pack so I could fully see and test the underlying harness for the pack. I also hoped I'd get a better fit on the Italian Greyhound mix (many harnesses don't adjust to the sighthound builds well). I wasn't disappointed. Nicely constructed. Nice adjustability including being able to snug in a bit back on the ribs if you have a harness back-er out-er. This will be a nice option when it's a bit warm to wear the pack (If only Palisades came in XXS so we could just unclip the packs for breaks and/or warm days when we opt to skip the pack).

Extremely Well-built Structure

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

After my dog was able to wiggle or back out of every collar or harness I had on her, I was so happy to find an escape-proof product! It also has a little extra effect of seeming to make her feel more secure and confident (like the shirt products for small dogs). My ONLY COMPLAINT is that they still don't offer a more feminine color version...Candy would look great in a purple or pink harness!! ;)

My canine companion(s): English Shepherd

Love it!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

This is a great harness and seems like it will last a long time. We went camping for the holiday weekend and hiked and swam. It is great when you need to grab a hold of your dog when he is off leash, without having to constantly re-leash. It held up to runs through the brush and swimming and is showing no signs of wear. Seems like it will be a product I will have for a long time. Indy is 50# and relatively lean. The medium fits great with room to tighten and room to loosen. He measured right at the 27" min.

Fantastic

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I purchased to help with outdoor training of my French Bulldog. Bulldogs in general are hard to fit anything since they have odd bodies and huge chests and heads. But all of the minor adjustments this harness allows is really impressive. Fits him great! He walks comfortably in it and I can lift him over things on hikes. If he pulls the pressure is dispersed really well across his shoulders. The only issue is that since he's a stubby breed, the back strap almost hits his "area" so I need to fashion a ties to keep it closer towards the front. Same with the chest strap - but I account that to him being a typical bulldog shape. Overall, fantastic harness and I would recommend this to everyone. Well done, Ruffwear.

My canine companion(s): Beagle mix

Awesome

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

We bought about 8 to 10 harnesses, some costing us over $100 dollars trying to keep our dog (beagle mix) from backing out of her harness. It usually takes her less than thirty seconds to get out of a harness and “RUN FREE”. I would love to have a large fenced yard that she could run free but we live in the city and she must be on a leash when outside. We have had her to the vet for back problems and Lyme’s disease. The Lyme’s disease caused the joint in her right back leg to swell and she could not walk on it. We had just ordered her a Web-Master Harness which she cannot back out of . . . and she TRIED and TRIED. Plus it enabled us to be able to carry her up and down our many steps, lifting her into the car and up to the couch or bed without hurting her. The Web-Master Harness has kept her safe at home and so much more. WE LOVE IT!

Fantastic

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Sissy is a long hair miniature, she loves her Ruffwear! When it's time to put on she sticks her nose out so it can go right on. She doesn't get much hiking time but lots of walks. It's so handy to have the handle on the back, you can scoop her right up when necessary. Construction is great, not a loose thread. Will buy again with no reservations.

Excellent

Albert is almost 100 years old (people time). We live in a house twice his age and the steep slippery narrow steps are impossible for his badly arthritic legs (he is about 45 pounds). This harness allows his 2 also older owners to help his back end up the steps every night. Now the whole family gets to sleep in the same room together without leaving one of our members behind. Thank you!

AWESOME!!!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

This is by far the best harness I have ever owned. I highly recommend it! The quality and construction are the BEST! Jack and I go hiking and climbing a lot and this harness gives me the piece of mind to know that when he needs a little help, or if he were to slide I can catch him by the leash and lift him without hurting him. The harness distributes Jack's weight and supports him comfortably. This is a Fantastic product!!! I recommend this product with 1000 yes's! My only wish is that it could also be a life vest as well as a harness, but could still be thin and comfortable.

Superb

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

My male has worn a Ruffwear pack for years and I've always loved it. When Maggie Mae became a tripawd a year ago I needed a harness to assist during her recovery. The Web Master harness is simply superb. The handle allows me to easily guide her out of the van since I don't want her jumping down on her good remaining foreleg. This harness also allows her freedom to walk/hop when we're out having fun. Sturdy, easy to adjust and easy to put on.

My canine companion(s): Whippets

Beyond Excellent

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I have two whippets that I hate to walk. I hate waling Scrappy in particular. I walked them with a basic harness I bought from one of the big pet stores. Every time we ran into a dog Scrappy would go crazy and slip out of his harness. I don't believe harnesses from the big pet supply stores are made for hounds. I notices this harness had three strap. One over the head and two on the body. Sounded like that would be a good fit for my dog. Well the verdict is BEYOND EXCELLENT! Scrappy doesn't slip out of the harness when other dog walk by. He is actually calmer now, probably because I am not freaked out that he will escape. The harness is escape proof for sure. I also like the big handle on the back of the harness. It allows me to control my dogs better. I wish I would have seen this product 5 years ago. Well worth the extra money.

Really like it!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Easy to assemble, easy to slip on - Diego is okay with me putting it on, Peso, not so much - neither dog responds well to a leash, but Diego more so than Peso and the same with the vest - the comfort level with the vest is the issue of control - as in he won't rip his head off with the collar, and the gentler, all over pull seems to be better (by far!) than just tugging on the leash - these are Livestock Guardian Dogs, and therefore not your basic obedience type of mentality - very much dogs who think on their own - the regular rules do not work for them -

My youngest dog was the classic escape artist. I was terrified that he would escape from his old harness and run off so I never took him on walks. In Chief's twilight years, he suffered from arthritis and other issues that caused him to lose ability to go up and down stairs. He would fall sometimes. This harness allowed us to lift him (he was slightly over 50 lbs) This harness made our lives so much easier. We are about to purchase a second harness for his littermate sister who made it to 15 years and fabulous but alas is having similar issues.

Love this harness. Our pup has a habit of slipping his collar (and even other harnesses) but he is safely secured with the Web Master. We use it for daily walks around town, short day hikes, and even hiking in Acadia National Park. The handle on the back is fantastic for lifting Lieben over downed trees or helping him climb in narrow spaces. It's constructed wonderfully and is very durable for the amount of use it gets with us. The design doesn't pinch him if he gets excited and pulls, so he is a happy dog, too!

Best there is only a couple of issues

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

My pitbull mix, Chloe, could get out of any harness. Finally she is stuck. I attach the harness to a lead in our fenced back yard because she jumps the fence. My only complaint is after a week , the metal hook that attaches to the leash or lead is about to come off. This is due to my dog throwing her body as far as the lead will take her. I have started attaching the lead to the handle on the back of the harness. This seems to work. Also some of the seems are coming undone after a couple of weeks. This is probably from her laying on her back and trying to itch her back.

This is Johnny's second Web Master Harness!! The old one (4-5yrs) wasn't worn out but Johnny's rough outdoor escapades finally wore down the fasteners/cips. I LOVE the new design. Especially the covering over the fasteners/clips. This harness has been an invaluable tool for us when tracking and in training in Earthdog Master walk-up. It provides Johnny with full feedom of movement, and the lower back loop is perfect for his 30-50ft training lead. Just love this product and the boots also!! All of my dogs sport your wears! The straps and back pad seem very comfortable after about a dozen uses. However the metal clip that attaches to the leash has already shown signs of wear. The attachment clip seems indestructable but the fabric that attaches it to the harness is already fraying after only a dozen uses. Good for the price but i would rather spend more money on something that will last. Good comfort factor, bad connection factor.

Outstanding

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

How funny that I got this email at this time. Just got in from a swim with my 13.5 yo Border Collie. Sadie was always a non stop kind of girl! When she was 8 we discovered she had a severe deformity in her hindquarters. The specailists said she may need to be put down early in life. Our GP vet, us, and Sadie mostly, defied that. Sadie is a fighter. Moving, especially swimming, has kept her young and mobile. In Sept. 2013, she suffered an episode of Geriatric IVS. If you don't know what IVS is, stop reading this and look it up now so you are prepared if it happens to your dog. After a long recovery she was doing well, but lost all of the strength she had built in her back legs due to the length of the recovery and the severity of the episode. Searched and searched for the appropriate gear that would allow me to get her in and out of the pool on the steps without killing me or her, out and about for longer walks, and something that could also double as a helpful paw in her weaker moments. Enter the Ruff Wear Web Master harness. She wears it all the time and after the first week, I ordered another one, so that we would always have a "dry" one around! Instead of PT at a clinic, we are doing it ourselves, and have also ordered a therapy cart which will be here in another week or so. When I put the WMH on her I had to laugh because she puffed out her little chest as if she just donned a flak jacket! She was ready to GO TO WORK! She got in the pool for the first time since her episode this weekend and now we can't keep her out - she's sore but back to building muscle and working toward independence - and most importantly - living like a Border Colllie should! The look on her face as she got in and out of the pool was priceless. The craftsmanship of the product is top shelf. Strong, good looking, it's everything that is stated in the outline and more. Cleanly made, no rough cuts and not even hanging threads. Total pro. Made for dogs by dog people. How can you go wrong? Recommend a Web Master Harness? You mean you haven't stopped reading and just bought one yet? Thank you Ruffwear for helping us help our good little girl get back to the life she loves, one paw step at a time. Fantastic

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Katie Lou is a 13 year old girl with very weak hind legs. She had left TPLO several years ago and probably has arthritic changes. Because she is 63 pounds, we could not help her up and down without this harness. It has been a life-saver. On days when she can't put weight on her feet and is toe-walking, we can assist her. Other times, we use it to make sure she does not fall. If we did not have this harness, we would have had to put her down. She is otherwise in great shape, so that would have been tragic. She wears the harness all the time with no problems. I am so glad my vet recommended this harness, as we tried another, but she would not walk with it on.

Life saving handle

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

This jacket is great. My dog is a service dog and I really depend on him. One night while we were out a huge dog charged at us having the handle on the vest made it possible for me to just bend over and scoop up my precious baby to protect him. He also loves his jacket it fits well, and he knows when he has it on we are leaving the house so their is not fun in games until we get back. Thank you for an excellent product.

Tough, Durable, and Highly VIsible

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Over the past 5 years I've had a total of 4 of these harnesses in different sizes. I have not had one break or wear out Honestly the previous model was I liked better (Red vest with black outlining). My Service Dog wears his vest at least 10 hours a day almost every day. There is plenty of room for patches, attachments, ID cards. We are VERY active and not gentle on equipment, and it's held up extremely well. From swimming in rivers, tromping through snow, hiking through the sands of New Mexico, to rock climbing, I've never once wondered if the harness would hold up. Both of my dogs weigh about 85lbs, and the harness distributes the weight nicely. Thank you for making a quality product that performs as great as it looks!

This Harness Rocks!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I am using this harness to secure my dogs in the sidecar of my motorcyle. My mini aussie can not have any pressure around her neck because if she does she will hack. This harness is a great fit for her. My pug mix has a very different body style and the harness fits her just as well and gives me the peace of mind when they are in the sidecar. I think it would be great in the future if they would add two more "d"rings to the back.

We use this harness most often for our service dogs. They are bright and they have enough room for the service dog patches. It is so easy to put on the dogs, and most of them have no problems wearing it, sometimes for over 15 hours at a time. They don't fit all dogs as comfortably. But for the most part our dogs love their harness. They know it's time to work when they put their harness on

She hurt her back 4 years ago and was temporarily paralyzed (hind legs). She has mostly recovered but needs a lift sometimes while on a walk. The handle on this harness is perfect for that. I ordered the small for her. She looks like a special forces dog with this harness on. I am very happy with it, and so is Bridey, Special OPS Whippet. Thanks.

Love it!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

My Blue Heeler isn't an escape artist and we don't use this harness to help combat pulling so we cant fairly judge this product on those uses. However we love this for hiking! The handle is amazing for lifting the 40lb Heeler over obstacles. The padded straps and location of the straps aid in her comfort while being moved. She's a great hiking partner and we love this harness for our adventures! The harness is true to size and fits her well. We would recommend this harness to anyone who loves hiking in difficult areas!

The product is very good. It is well made, good quality and is comfortable for our Greyhounds. The only issue I had was the medium was too small for my Greyhound despite it meeting the measurements of our dog. I then got the Large/X Large and it is slightly too big. I've made all the adjustments but it moves around. Despite this we love the product and so do our dogs.

Excellent Harness!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Our huskies go everywhere with us but are extreme escape artists and on many occasions have slipped out of their harness to chase something. We decided to give the Web Master a try and have been very pleased. These harnesses are strong and durable and most importantly for us, cannot be escaped from. They seem to be far more comfortable than any other harness we tried. Others irritated the skin around their "arm pits" but no matter how hard our girls pull, these straps never come in contact with that area. We use these harnesses up to 3 times a day walking/running around the neighborhood and on our trips to the beach. They have held up extremely well over the last 2 years with no signs of wear on the straps or buckles. Excellent product and I would recommend them to anyone.

when a bout of cancer required that our little dogs front leg be removed the rehab vet suggested we get a Ruffwear Web Master harness. We tried a few other good harnesses but she wiggled out of them easily. The Ruffwear harness holds her so firmly and the "handle" allows us to pick her up and grab her when she goes up to a potential dangerous situation. This harness is worth every penny. I am ordering 2 more for our 4 legged dogs.

Dog's Name: Lizzie

Date of Review: 2/16/2014

We kick up our paws in: Concordia, KS

My canine companion(s): 3 mixed breeds, Lizzie is the smallest, part Beagle and Part Dalmation, probably some terrier in there too.

Extremely pleased

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Lizzie loves to take walks (runs for her), but it was so stressful to take her because she could and would slip out of any harness/collar/combination. Lizzie is one of my sister's family dogs -- my sister and her husband both are disabled and can't walk the dogs, and Lizzie is such a trouble with getting loose (a danger to herself) that the grown children won't even bother anymore. I moved in about a year ago, and for my benefit and theirs chose to walk the dogs. It was so stressful to have Lizzie always slip out of both the harness and the collar that we had her on, I would worry about her getting run over because once she catches a scent of something, she just runs! I looked and looked online, and found this product. Even though it was a bit pricey to buy for someone else's dog, lol, I splurged on it. I am sooooo happy. Lizzie cannot slip out of this harness at all. The first several times we went out walking, she was totally perplexed when she would try to 'slip out', and the harness was still attached securely! I wish I could have captured the puzzled expression on her face, lol. Lizzie gets so excited when she sees me pull the harness down from its hook, that I now am working on training her to learn to calm herself down from her overly excited state, and when she is calm then we go for our walk. I also love the handle/handhold grip on the back ... when she is overly excited about seeing a critter (anything smaller than her) I have that extra control measure. Everything about the harness is quality, and built to last and last!

Great!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I use this for my Service Dog, and I have to say, it's amazing. The support from having three straps to distribute her weight makes it much easier when I need to lift her, (for instance, when getting onto a crowded bus seat, where she might not have room to jump to me on her own.) She's obviously comfortable in it. She regularly sleeps in it when I'm in appointments, so there's no way she's uncomfortable! She has unrestricted leg movement, which I greatly appreciate. The number of adjustment points make my life so much easier! Depending on whether she's wearing a layer under it, etc, I have a number of options for making it tighter, looser, ride higher, etc.

My canine companion(s): Wire Haired Dachshund

An excellent harness

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I bought this harness with the idea of adding a GoPro camera mount to it. Arwen is a tracking dog and I wanted to be able to record her tracking from her point of view. I was not happy with the camera ready harnesses that are available as the harnesses looked cheap and too light in appearance to hold a camera. The Web Master harness is very well made and not lacking in sturdiness while being very light weight. The harness was easy to adjust and fits Arwen perfectly. I mounted the flat plate that came in the GoPro display case to the harness after shaping it to the harness and the curve of Arwen's back. Does it ever work well. It does fall a bit to one side and I am hoping to fix that with more adjustment to my dog. An overall great product. Wish I could have posted a picture.

excellent product

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Charlotte is a rescue from a breeding farm in North Carolina and was never walked on a lease. She was very difficult to control and constantly wanted to bolt into the adjacent woods. This harness has really turned her around. She ives wearing it and it is easy to put on and take off. She now walks relaxed and is easy to handle. It is very well made and sturdy. I can't say enough good things about this product. Ruffwear just needs to make a compatable jacket that can go over it in the the bad weather, as their regular jackets do not have an opening for the leash ring.

Dog's Name: Nikko

Date of Review: 1/10/2014

We kick up our paws in: Massachusetts

My canine companion(s): German Shepherd/Yellow Lab mix

Couldn't live without it

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Nikko was 3 when we adopted him from a shelter. He could slip out of almost anything, and hated having any type of harness put on. As he aged, he developed severe arthritis in all 4 legs, and as we have a lot of stairs, it was difficult for him - he had trouble going up, and would gain momentum & speed and fall when going down. As he was 60 lbs, carrying him several times a day to go out, with my spinal arthritis and a shoulder that needed surgery, just wasn't an option. Carrying was also uncomfortable for him - no way to lift & hold him without pressure or movement of those sore hips & legs. I found your harness, saw some reviews, and though I'd give it a try. After the first few uses, we realized we - and Nikko - couldn't live without it. It allowed him to get around with just a little assistance - we could give him a lift with the handle as he was on the stairs, taking weight off his legs, and he did great. I could use my right hand, saving my shoulder & back - I even was able to take care of him, all alone while family was gone, with my left arm immobilized, take him out for potty breaks & walks, etc. in the snow, right after major surgery to rebuild my shoulder. He became very dependent on the harness, if I took it off for washing (did great on the delicate cycle in the washer with some Woolite), he would lay on his bed & refuse to leave it until I brought it back, clean & dry, to put on - he even wanted to sleep in it. It never caused any chafing, hot spots, or seemed uncomfortable to him, even after he began to lose weight and became a little bony, after developing an abdomnal tumor near his bladder. Our only issue was that the belly strap was a bit too long, so the loose ends would come untucked sometimes and get peed on, but they always cleaned up easily. After 3 years of constant, 24x7 wear, the harness looked brand new. He wore it through all kinds of weather, swimming in our lake, and trotting through the woods & farmland near our home. It made a huge difference in being able to get him in/out of the car, too, making vet trips much easier. He preferred being lifted by the harness vs. using a ramp with the SUVs. After his death at 16, we used the harness for our other dog - a larger, 78lb. female Husky/Lab/German Shepherd x, Callie. She had developed a touch of arthritis and some disk issues in her lower spine, and had other health problems. She hated any type of restriction, harness, clothing, etc. but after wearing this harness twice, she didn't want to take it off - just like Nikko. It provided great control on walks or when the neighbor's dogs got loose & challenged her, and was a real help in her last few months of life. Our vet practice loved the harness, made handling both dogs much easier during treatment, and they could see how much it helped them, so they began recommending it to for other dogs with weak & arthritic back legs. Thinking I wasn't going to get another dog for a few years, I donated the harness to a local shelter after her death - still looking brand new after almost 4 years of use. I'll be getting another soon, though - we're adopting a young lab from a rescue, and I want to have the same control when we take her out on walks, swimming in the lake, and in & out of the car.

Not good for dogs that pull

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I can definitely see the value in this harness. I purchased it for my shepherd that's very difficult to walk on the leash. The Web Master harness does help, but there is too much give around the neck and the harness pulls to one side, offering little support for her pulling. However, I also have an aging yellow lab whose hind legs are getting weak. He does not pull at all and now needs help getting in and out of the car, getting up after laying for extended periods of time, and this harness is perfect for him. Unfortunately, I purchased a medium and he really needs the large, his size is right on that inbetween size (34"), so I can make this one do for now. So yes, I would definitely recommend this harness, but not for controlling dogs who pull. So for that reason, I have to rate it a 3.

Two very different issues solved with this type of harness: Eliza is an escape artist par excellence, so bad that family refused to walk her as she just slipped out of everything. Not so anymore - she is now totally secured and stays on leash. Phew. Gekko is a large strong RR male, with cart horse pull power - this harness makes him more manageable and the "handle" on his back is great for extra holding power when a deer jumps in front of him

Our dog is a very large, super strong Amstaff and a rear leg amputee. We tried everything, everything, everything out there to help him after his leg was amputated...from traction boots to wheelchairs, all different types of harnesses... You name it, we tried it. This harness is THE BEST investment we have made to help him with his mobility. We can balance him out on uneven surfaces, help him into the car, up and down stairs. We also have great control if he wants to lunge at something (some dog aggression) A collar leash threw him off balance. And it does not rip into his skin like other harnesses we tried. Thank you for designing this. It's so well made, durable and he likes it too. So grateful.

I needed a harness to fit my big boy (140lbs) and came across this website. At first I was afraid he wouldn't follow my commands but he did! He is hypothyroid and needed something that didn't go around his neck. We both love this harness and I am so happy with the quality I am going to buy two more for my other boys! I have also shared your website with a lot of my friends. Good job!

Best dog product Ever!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Do you have a pup that breaks out of every collar and every harness? This product will not allow your dog to sneak backwards out of it or forwards out of it. There are a series of beagles through our rescue that have utilized this product due to the beagles being escape artists. The product is so comfy that my fathers beagle rests in it all day. I purchased this is a gift for my friends beagle who recently went through a back problem scare. Her lower disc was in disarray due to pulling all of the time. This harness reduced her front pulling and distributed the pull and weight all across her body thus lessening the strain. There is no better harness in the world of dog harnesses. simply put.

We have been using these harnesses for about 2 years now and neither Siberian has been able to get out, that hasn't stopped them from trying though ;)

Fabulous

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

We bought this for our rescue dog, Dash, a younger, strong sheltie collie mix. Dash was rescued from a puppy mill; as a youngster, he received none of the socialization that's so necessary to this breed, and as a result is very skittish. Whenever he's taken out of his comfort zone (e.g., anywhere away from our house or yard), he panics and could defeat any previous halter we tried. Not so this halter. My husband especially likes the handle on the top! A real life saver - for both us and the dog. Many thanks

A life saver!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Mandy could escape from any type of collar or harness we put her in. One day it happened and she almost got hit by a car. Feeling upset and totally discouraged, I kept thinking if I couldn't solve this problem my days of walking with her are over. I started researching specialty harnesses and making phone calls. I ended up on the phone with a Ruffwear customer service representative and they told me about this harness and they thoroughly explained why we should give it a try. They also assisted me in finding a store that carried them in my area. Mandy cannot get out of this harness and trust me she has tried! The belly strap makes it impossible. This harness with it's handle is also great for helping her in and out of our full sized SUV's. We have also used the handle multiple times to grab her and lift her quickly out of harms way. Please don't ever stop making this harness, for escape artists like Mandy it's a absolute must have! Thank you for making it possible for me to safely and confidently walk my dog again.

Breeze is between sizes so I was worried that this would be either way too small or very loose. I called the CS line and got the information I needed, the rep was very helpful and professional. The harness fits perfectly, it's actually so adjustable that it wouldn't have been a problem based on the sizing chart. There has never been a rub or sore spot and works it like a charm. Getting over obstacles and up rocks is a breeze (pun intended).

I never thought I would get my Shea to wear a harness. Not only does he allow me to put the harness on, he seems to love wearing it. He is such a strong walker that he pulls me, and I haven't been able to train him to walk without choking. This harness completely changed his pulling habits, and it is so strong that, even when he forgets that he is wearing it and tries to chase a squirrel, the harness holds him. I absolutely this product!

I originally purchased this for my 95 lb dog when he mildly injured his neck several months ago. He has not needed it since, until his ACL surgery last week. This harness has been a life saver for the both of us. It helps me get him up when he has trouble standing, and helps me prevent him from slipping and falling. This is about 1,000 times more useful than those under-the-belly slings for walking support. I highly recommend this product for anyone with a dog with mobility issues, or for leisure use. As with all of the Ruffwear products, it also has nice, durable construction too.

We LOVE this product! We have a Diabetic Alert Dog who needs to wear a service vest- and traditional service vests were sliding around and looking very unprofessional-With it's unusual 3 point harness, the Webmaster stays in place beautifully. It's very well made, extremely adjustible, (our dog fit in BOTH the samll and the medium), and comfortable - also, even though it's a bit more complicated to put on then a traditional service vest, it's really very easy. The small had very little room for patches, while the medium has room for 5 patches, so if you're in between sizees, I'd reccomend sizing a bit up. I wish it came in more colors- I'd by an assortment!

Pirate is a 3 year old rough coat JRT that adopted me on July 4th, 2013. Being a JRT, he loves to track and hunt the critters that share this patch of countryside with us. He is in training and not yet reliable with the recall command so I must keep a long line on him for now. This harness stays on so well and is so comfortable for him that he forgets he has it on. It is a godsend for me knowing that he is safe and under control when he gets the urge to chase a critter with abandon. I am no longer concerned that he could slip out of the harness the long line is attached to and 'go missing' in the fields as he runs. I ordered size xs and it just fits him. If I order another however it will be a size small. He is a bit larger than the average JRT and the xs just fit with all the straps left as long as possible. A really nice product for an active dog that love to explore the out of doors!

This harness feels super durable and when I took her for a walk in it, I wasn't at all concerned she could escape. She tried, but gave up pretty quickly. The harness didn't seem to bother her and it fit perfectly using the sizing guide! It helps that it stops her from pulling as much, she still pulls but with the harness I'm able to control her much better!

I adore this harness. It fits my 11lb Miniature Dachshund perfectly, she's super comfortable wearing it, the handle is great to grab her quickly when she's swimming if need be, it's held up wonderfully to the beach, and is all around an awesome harness. I love how adjustable it is. Being a Dachshund, Nola is difficult to fit. She's long, and while she's longer legged than most Dachshunds she's still very much a low rider. She has a tiny waist, a really deep chest, and a skinny neck, and I can adjust the Web Master to fit her perfect. Love it, love it, love it!

best harness available for a small dog

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

This is the best harness I've been able to find for our small dog. Bella is very fearful of new people and other dogs. Last fall she was spooked and ran away while on a walk in the woods. Long story short, she was lost for 5 weeks before we were able to get her back by luring her into a baited humane trap. Not ever wanting to go through that again, I started looking for a durable harness that would not slip off her body if she suddenly started to back up. This harness fit the bill. Bella can't slip out of it even when scared which allows her to enjoy walks and hikes with us and not have to be sequestered inside. So many harnesses made for small dogs are flimsy and look really stupid- this harness is not only durable but it looks good too. Bella is an 11 lb dog and her girth was between sizes. I took Ruffwear's advice and sized down. I ordered her an XXS and it fits perfectly.

I am just going to use this now, but I have one MAJOR COMPLAINT - I bought this for my dog who broke his leg - HIS RIGHT LEG. Therefore it will be very inconvenient to have to lift up that leg to get it through the front "arm hole". I might suggest that you also should have a quick release mechanism for the neck pad as well. I will try to loosen it to the fullest an slip it over his leg BEFORE putting it over his head & hope that works.

I love this harness. I originally got this harness as a biking harness for my dog, since his other brand harness was rubing his arms. I use it for hiking and it saved my dogs life. My dog got scared of a water fall and jumped off the side over the rail. I was able to grab his harness handle fast and lift him bak up. If it wasn't for his new ruffwear harness he would not be here today! In my opinion every dog should own one of these. The are truly life savers!!!

I like that this harness does not choke my dog at all. She is smal (11lbs)l so its convenient to pick her up quickly and she seems relatively comfortable being suspended for short periods. What I don't like about the harness is that the top part does look very excessive on a small dog and is very stiff. Therefor it's restrictive in that my dog can't lie down comfortably. Overall i'm sure this is better for a bigger dog.. but for a small dog, it's a little excessive for daily walks. We only save it for hiking up boulders or mountains where there is a risk of her potentially slipping.

We LOVE our harness as does Ollie

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Ollie can get out of every other harness or collar we have tried. He is 115 lbs so as an escapee, it is terrifying. Ollie hates getting in the car. With this harness we can control him, lift him up and get him in. He has lymphoma and having chemotherapy at BluePearl weekly/biweekly so it is important I can get him in the car. He loves his harness... goes crazy when I put it on because he knows he is going to BluePearl wearing it. They laugh at him sliding in the door, all 115 lbs, wearing his "handle" harness. I think we've "sold" a lot of harnesses for RuffWear because of that ... the handle, the fit, the comfort and the control. And it is cute and has reflecting tape. Thank you ! AND when he got too big around for the harness. THIS COMPANY sent us the buckles/clips so we could have "extenders" made at a shoe repair shop to EXTEND the harness. We are happy to say, chemo has given Ollie remission AND he is his normal size. Thank you for making it possible to "extend" his harness. We are going to try on for our little Whippet.

Love that I can pick her up with the handle when she's tired, stubborn, or I need to get her up on something high (table at the vet, etc.). She's an energetic two year old and this also prevents her from choking herself when she dashes down the hall to get out the door!

I bought this harness for my 13 and half year old dog when he started to have problems in jumping in the car and with his general mobility and strength The harness is very comfortable and it allows me to easily lift my dog in the car or assist him when he has any difficulty in mobility The only critique I have regarding the quality of the harness is that, over time ,the straps become lose and are more difficult to keep in the position and length chosen to fit the dog This is also particularly true after washing the harness a few times I have and will, however, strongly recommend the harness for his overall quality and function

Wonderful

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Our service dog had a harness when we got her but it never stayed straight. It kept tilting ton one side or the other, which doesn't sound like a big deal however when the patches need to be read for people to leave her alone etc. it needs to be the correct way. This one stays where it is supposed to, it also give me the extra leverage I need when placing her in a vehicle that she doesn't think she can make the jump up. Some of the best parts are that there is a lot of room to put patches on both sides so that you get less intrusive questions. I like having the V ring in the harness as well since our daughter has the primary lead but the adult needs the second at times and it just give you that extra little control so neither the child or the dog run off. The only thing extra I would like to see is detachable bags for storage. With a service dog you quite often need to carry water bottle, food bowl, etc. and it is so much easier to have the dog carry it. I have recommended it to our trainer and suggested he start using these vests instead of the other ones.

I love this harness for my dog. My dog seems to get out of every harness there is on the market. I have searched high and low to find something she could not get out of. This may be the one! The fact that is has a quick pickup handle is excellent too. The only advice I would offer this company for improvement is to make the sizes run in with one another. I had measured her correctly, but she falls in a category that is just between the lines. I ended up returning the first harness and purchasing a different size. I had to do some tricks to adjust it to fit right. Otherwise I would highly recommend this product and company. I plan to shop here again.

This harness has quality materials and is sturdy. However, we have a big dog, very big and with his weight and these smaller straps going under his chest and abdomen, it's cutting into him a little too much. The other thing which is most annoying is that the strap that comes from the chest plate and what you put the front girth through is nearly too small and is a struggle to get it through. Why make that such a tight fit or at least make it to where it is velcro and you don't have to slip the girth through it but you can put that strap around the girth and fasten it with velcro.

I love love LOVE this harness! I had originally purchased the Palisades Pack for my girl, but despite being size small the pack was HUGE on her, so I gave it to her brother and ordered her just the Web Master Harness. She's short and kind of long and he is tall and super skinny but both are size small. All the straps allow you to get a super snug and secure fit, I have no fear either would be able to wiggle their way out of it. The padding makes it comfortable for long wear and lifting should they need assistance. It's also super reflective, which is great for bike ridding. I've taken them hiking, to the beach, bike riding and mud running and this harness is still ready for more! I let it dy out and sort of just brush it off, all the dirt just comes right off and it's good to go!

As she is recuperating they suggested we purchase this to help us walk her. We did and it is the best thing we have ever purchased she doesn't mind wearing it and the "handle" on the back makes it so easy to get her up and down the stairs. I am thinking about ordering a red one next. Brittany is walking very well now but we will always use this vest to walk her. I am going to suggest it to my friends. GREAT PRODUCT.

Our 13 year old German Shepherd wears this harness 24/7. Being an old shepherd her back legs aren't what they used to be. She could no longer walk up the stairs and hated being downstairs by herself! After a few nights of sleeping in the living room with her, we got the harness. We actually tried 3 (thanks to our wonderful friend and Hollys foster mom Judy). One was very expensive....about 3-4 times this one....but did not work well for us at all. This harness allows us to give. A little "lift" help going up but also give support and slows her down going down the stairs so she doesn't lose her footing and fall. I would recommend this harness to ANYONE!

We are happy with how it looks and that we can now transport her in a safer way.But we would love to see the Web Mater Harness in XL so Great Danes can wear them comfortably too !

My son Kevin Klingensmith bought our Springer Scooby a Web Master harness in June 2011. Scooby is our escape artist and roll in the mud, have fun dog. With the exception of walk and house time, he wears his Web Master 24/7. With Scooby's ability to squeeze through holes and climb fences, he stays in the yard on his trolley system and Web Master. So after 21 months of daily use, it is finally time to replace the Web Master! And not because it broke either. It's finally showing the wear and I don't want him escaping. Just to be clear on how durable the Web Master has been, I have had to replace the steel cables of the trolly system 3 TIMES in that same 21 months.

Substantial harness. Just didn't work for us

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Our Sadie is an escape artist. We purchased the Web Master Harness after reading many glowing reviews. When the first harness arrived it appeared sturdy and well made but within 1 day Sadie had destroyed the strap that joins to the triangle at the front and down over the chest. We contacted customer service and they were very, very helpful. We received a second harness but had the same difficulty with the this one. The front strap isn't secured well enough to the triangle to prevent our escape master from ripping it out. We think that for normal dogs that this is a well made, attractive harness. The strap around the tummy as well as the chest is secure. We appreciate the company's effort to satisfy our dog but it just didn't work for us.

This harness was a "Sweet 16" present for our 16 year old Golden Retriever, JR. I can't even begin to describe how much it has changed his and our lives. It helps him on walks (huge difference), up and down the single step to go outside, and most importantly: it helps him squat to poop, which had become nearly impossible for him. We were beside ourselves not knowing how to help him before we got this harness. He resisted wearing it at first but now he pushes his head right through the head hole when we hold it in front of him. THANK YOU! (We will also be trying the double back - it looks much harder to get on and off). We've only had this for two weeks and he is already MUCH more confident!

This harness is the best

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

When we adopted Daisy back in 2005 we bought this harness. It's the best. It is still in good shape. But...I ordered a new harness for her through Three Dog Bakery because Daisy is my mudder and I just can't get her old harness clean enough. She will wear the old one when we hike and on rainy days. The new harness will be for special events and for dry days. She went from a black harness to the gray. Our other beagle wears the red one. You just can't go wrong with this harness. It has a handle, it's made well and it will last forever. I will order a new harness for my other beagle later. Louise's harness is only 4 years old but it is getting muddy too. After awhile "spot cleaning" just doesn't work for me. If you could see Daisy's harness now, you would agree....but she sure has fun.

We kick up our paws in: Alton, IL

My canine companion(s): Miniature Austraiiian Fleece Coated Cobber Dog formerly known as a Labradoodle

Great

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I love his harness for Heartigan.. He has grown out of the x-small, and is now between a small and a medium. When groomed and clipped short, I could get the small on. But when grown out and fluffy, he needs the Medium. My only problem with the harness, is that if he gets to the harness before I do, the plastic buckles (clasps) are toast with just one bite. If I knew I could SECURELY replace just the buckles, I would, but I don't have that confidence. So I now have to order a small and a medium and keep them out of his reach. This is not a fault of the product, this is my fault and a dog with boundless energy for trouble. I do wish there was just a small pack/ pocket on this for say my keys, my ID, poo bags, cell phone etc.

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

In January of 2010 I used this harness on my 85# lab/mastiff mix as we were backpacking in the Linville Gorge Wilderness in North Carolina. We were caught by a flash flood overnight and had to be pulled out by a S&R team, through the flooded river. This harness allowed my dog to be pulled across the rushing water and back to safety. I'm confident that if he wasn't wearing this harness he wouldn't be with me here today. I have used this harness many times since and will never hesitate to trust my dog's life to it. As a veterinarian I see many different harnesses everyday and I have yet to find one that I would trust more than this. I am eager to need a new one so I can try out the Doubleback Harness though! Hands down the best harnesses I have come across today. Murphy says thanks too!

I just used the harness for the first time today and so far so good. Ruby tries to escape from her collar when we pass other dogs, I can already tell she won't be able to with this harness. Ruby has a thick chest and slim waist. According to the online sizing chart a Medium should fit, but I may need to send back for a large. My dog Ralphie had become an escape artist. I was no longer able to take him out for walks or car rides b/c he'd gotten out of his collar, prong collar, gentle leader and harness. Someone recommended this harness to me. I finally have something my houdini dog can't escape from (and he's tried!) This morning he walked right into the harness because he knows we're off for fun when he's in it. He's easy to control on a leash. (He also has issues from an abusive background before his rescue so I like not controlling him on his neck.) It was easy to adjust and looks like it's going to last a while. Great product and I highly recommend.

The XXS Web Master Harness is a perfect fit. She's tried to slip this one, but there is no way out. Perfect for any scared dog or those escape artists! We also got the Knot-a-Leash with the locking clip. Perfect combination. Highly recommend.

I feel like I have good control of her as we hike and last weekend I was able to easily give her an assist over a challenging water crossing by grabbing on to the handle on the harness itself. Also, as a Vizsla she is thick chested but skinny in the waist and I had no problem adjusting the harness to fit her perfectly.

I looped a lead through front and back supports by handle, this way I can support her and take some of the weight bearing off her and she just keeps on going.... She loves it. I highly recommend for any dog with mobility issues. Thx Susan

Awesome!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

When I bought these harnesses I thought I was getting way more harness than I needed. Boy was I wrong. We were heading to Tahoe, and my rat terrier is quite the puller, so I got these harnesses to avoid her choking herself out. Turns out, we ended up going on a couple technical hikes, and I was very lucky to have them in these harnesses. I was able to lift them up and down with no problem. The harnesses were comfortable for the dogs...not once did they attempt to try and bite or chew at their harness (THAT in itself says a lot about the harnesses!)....The harnesses didn't rub or wear the fur off the babies....the dogs didn't seem to even notice they were wearing harnesses. And when I used the handles to pcik them up, lift them down, the dogs were not in any discomfort...the harnesses fit properly...In fact, after liiftng my poodle mix off a few boulders, he decided it was great fun and pretty much started protesting at jumping off the slightest decline. He wanted to be lifted down! (Had to break him of that habit in a hurry)!...The Web-Master is a great harness and I am VERY happy I made the investment!

Love the harness!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I purchased this for Harvey's first backpacking trip earlier this year. He's too small a dog (16 pounds) to carry anything, but I liked the idea of the harness and decided to give it a try. What a great product! I refer it to it as Harvey's "adventure vest." The XS harness fits him perfectly, and even after 12-mile dayhikes he seems quite comfortable in it and has no hotspots. He's not much of a water dog, so it's great to be able to carry him across water crossings using the top handle-- kind of like a furry little suitcase. And the red color makes him easy to spot among the bushes and rocks.

Very, very pleased with Miles' webmaster harness. Makes hiking so much easier with him, as it gives more control than a collar, and best of all, allows me to easily lift him over puddles and other obstacles. It is so well made, and Miles is very comfortable in it. When he gets older, if he ever needs help getting up stairs or into the car, I will just use this harness. Thanks Ruffwear. - Emma, www.milesandemma.com

Excellent quality product Web Master

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

The web master is the only haress that I could find, after trying many others, that my dog could not pull out of when on lease. The whippet head is smaller then the neck. Even the martingale collars would not work on this little excape artist. Regular harnesses no contest for her to slip out of. I am ordering another one as a spare. Lost another whippet when taking her for a walk.. Do not plan on losing this one !

I am a search and rescue K-9 handler and use this harness on my dogs when working from boats. They are great. I have purchase four over the years. Not because they wear out but because of changes in dogs and to take advantages of improvements in the harness's design. The harness is snug enough not to get in the dogs way if he falls or jumps from the boat and also is strong enough and provides the hand holds we need to get the dog back in the boat. Keep up the quality work Ruffwear.

Just what we needed!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

We needed a really sturdy, well made harness for our previously easy-to-walk-on-a-lead lurcher as she was going through a phase of trying to pull herself out of her collar, often near roads. Since she's been wearing the harness she's been much better; she knows she can't get away now so doesn't bother to try. The fit is perfect - although only pint-sized, Popper has a big chest (27") and a small waist (16"), but the small size harness has enough adjustment to accommodate her vital statistics! (The only slight problem with the design are the buckles, which I find difficult to open as they are pretty much covered by fabric.)

I rarely complete product reviews but this Harness warrants praise. I have two harnesses from other makers that are well made but not well designed and not as useful to the dog with weak hindquarters. This harness is properly designed and works helping the senior canine up and down stairs, into a vehicle, onto the bed. The rear support is properly placed under the dog so it works on male and female canines. A must buy for the elder canine.

This is a very well thought out, well made harness, that we can (with saftey in mind) scramble about many types of terrain with our buddies. One dot is thick throughout his torso, the other thick behind front legs, but tapers (think like a whippet) towards his back legs on his underside. The straps adjust well, to make fit a non-issue.

I purchased two of these harnesses in order to take some of the pressure off of my dogs' necks. They are strong and on the rare occasion that they are not obeying, I did not like yanking on their necks. I was a little worried they would have more power with these harnesses, since the leash is attached in center of their backs, but so far they are working fabulously. I have just as much control, and once you get the harness fitted correctly, it is easy to put them on and take them off. It took them a little while to get used to havig so much of their backs covered, but they know now, that when I pick up the harnesses, it is time for a walk!

well constructed

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I purchased this product because my 14 year old German Shepherd was having mobility issues. He injured his spine in 2009 and had a stroke last August which has left him with a weakened hind end. This harness is well constructed and solid, while being flexible and soft enough to avoid irritating him. Unfortunately, it doesn't extend far enough back on his body to give adequate support for his hindquarters. Also, since he balances and supports himself primarily on his front legs, I have to have him lie down to put the harness on since he can't balance to step into it and has super ticklish front paws so he keeps pulling them away. Overall a great piece of equipment, but not the best for these circumstances.

We were looking for a harness that was padded, and that would stay on during the playing / wrestling sessions. Pros: - Dogs can pull, play around, wrestle, their harnesses stay on. - It’s nicely padded so no more rubbing and cuts. - Handle is an added bonus which has been great to lift the dogs in and out of the car, and above obstacles on hikes. Somewhat cons: - It takes some time to get the straps set to the correct fit. But once they’re set, the buckles stay nicely in place, which is great. - I wish a similar product existed with slightly less material or more breathable material: It can get quite hot during the hikes and while the WebMaster has been great for Spring time, it’s a bit too heavy for Summer. Overall, great product: very sturdy, and will keep your escape artist in check. Enjoy!

Pricey, but of Quality.

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I bought one of these for both of my dogs, they do not need assistance of any sort, but my older dog the Rotty/Lab has a mild occasional issue with his back legs that I fear will get worse as he is already 11, so for him it was for future use, but I use it on him now. For the Beagle/Lab I got it because she is a puller and the regualr collars were choking her, if she would see a dog she'd get so excited she'd choke herself pretty badly, so I hoped this would help keep from choking her, and so far it has done just that. It is not great for actually controlling the dogs, but sop far they do better while wealking with them on rather than the regular collar/leashe. My only gripe is that as you walk them, unless they stay directlt in front of you, the harness will be pulled saideways on them, whcih bugs me so I always find myself having to catch up to them and fix them. I also agree the medium front straps could use another inch, one of my dogs has tight front straps, but I stuck with medium in fear the large/x-large would be too big. Final words, buy Ruffwear guys and gals, they have quality made products, I have a pair of Bark'n Boots that I got for one of the dogs that has feet problems, the boots fall off on occasion if not tight enough, but they have lasted me almost 2 years of occassional useage, I also own a cloud chaser jacket that has lasted as long as the boots.

We bought this harness to use on our dog that had ACL surgery. The convenience of being able to pick him up with it has made it easier for me and my back to manuever him up and down stairs when needed. The fit seems a little small around his neck until he gets wet. The front straps could use an extra inch of length for better adjustment but otherwise it fits well. He does not like to sit with it on and prefers to lay down. I believe this is because of the back strap in between his ribs and privates so I am not sure I would leave this on him for a long time because of that. But it does a good job of supporting him while picking him up with it. I have recommended this product to anyone needing extra support for their dogs. I think it would fit a bigger dog better, we bought the extra small for Kota.

Great harness but could use some work

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

S.P. is a short, fat, strong dog. He loves his walks but cant wear a collar due to a neck injury and most harnesses dont provide enough control or are uncomfortable. I decided to try this harness after seeing a couple of dogs wearing it. My biggest issue is sizing. I ordered a medium and was actually sent a large by mistake which was ok b/c I was on the fence about sizing. He's exactly 32" and the large was way to big. The medium is up to 32" and seems to fit just right, in some areas. I specifically do not like that the last strap under the belly rubs against his "manhood" I also had trouble with it fitting around the neck/ chest area. After a 20min fitting we decided to try it out on a walk. He's a puller and this harness definately didnt help that issue but I didnt expect it to. However as he was pulling I noticed the metal loop where you clip the leash seemed to be under a lot of stress. I was very worried it was going to snap and he would get lose. After a 4mile walk at about 7pm (late enough for it to be cooler) he seemed to start over heating. We stopped to take a rest break and he fell over. He is not use to wearing such a harness and perhaps it was causing him to over heat? Luckily there was a near by sprinkler park and I tried to use the handle to help support and assist him in walking over to the water in order to cool down but the handle seemed to not be able to hold his wear and the seam started to pop. I'm not sure if the medium is made for a lighter dog but it very much let me down in this situation. I was under the impression this harness was tough and great for outdoor adventures but it seemed to fall short. I like the idea and the construction seems like it would be great for a smaller dog but all in all this wasnt the harness for us.

This is the 6th (and last) harness I have purchased for Doc. He is a 70lb Cur with a huge chest which made fitting a harness crazy. Also living in FL we need a light harness that doesn't trap heat. The Web Master went on Doc with a few adjustments and just molds to his body. My wife trains for marathons with him and takes him out for at least 30 mi per week. Not only does the harness keep both of them safe, but he has zero rubbing and over heating is not an issue. This is the single best piece I have bought for my dog.

I purchased this harness as a last ditch effort to help my 15 year old labrador by being able to offer assistance without hindering him. He suffers from hip dysplasia and degenerative myalopathy and his balance and gait are extremely compromised. This harness gives him confidence again that I can keep him from falling but isn't as cumbersome as others we have looked at. It is also easy to leave on him without worrying about it being too hot or compromising his ability to urinate. This harness has made a huge difference in his quality of life and, at his age, that is a true blessing! It is also durable enough that, as my other dogs age, I'll be able to have it on hand for them as well!

Well engineered, using top grade materials, which shows as a soon as you have the product in hand. We have had the harness for two years and at this point, Ralph sleeps with it on and it doesn't seem to bother him. RuffWear makes accessories for active dogs, but in our case, this product was a perfect match for dog rehabilitation. I highly recommend it.

I have mostly good, but one irritant! I apparently recieved the "old" model a month ago but the sizing was off, so got the new medium and felt the sizing was more precise for my greyhound. However, the "padding" for the tummy and chest have been down-sized and less cushion all over! The old model had a fleece inner liner on the strap pads and were wider. Better for my sleek, delicate long-legged girl. Also, the top handle is not longer a handle but a flatter piece of the harness. I'm looking for the old model in a medium now. It will be useful to help her up her new ramp for the SUV, once I get one with ample padding!

Have tried a few different harnesses and this by far is the best I've tried so far. The reflective trim is great , tow-loop is great for roller-blading and it dosen't really slide around on the dogs back (which all my other harnesses would). Only suggestion I have is to add a few stitches to straps after being sized properly due to straps loosening a bit when they're wet.

Best harness for any amount of money

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

We went to Alaska in 2010 and took both the dogs. Since we were drove, the Webmaster harnesses came in especially handy. We used them to lift the dogs in and out of the car and to secure them while in the car. In camp the harnesses were comfortable enough for the dogs to sleep in and also gave us extra grab points in the event that one of the dogs decided to try to nose out of the zipper door (I recommend heavy paperclips to prevent this). The harnesses performed way better than we expected. The dogs wore them almost 24x7 for five weeks with no rubbed off fur, no damage to the harnesses and no discomfort for the dogs. Of course we inspected the dogs daily for ticks, etc, but when we were not staying in a motel, the dogs were in their harnesses. The harnesses have the added bonus of looking cool and people will ask you about your dogs. The ONLY thing I wish it had is a light weight cover for their chest and belly to keep things from sticking in their fur. At home the harnesses are our everyday dog walking gear and come in very handy when we take the dogs to the drive in with us. Tippy gets extremely excited at the sight of hers. I'm very sad to say that Keller recently passed at age 18 but I wanted to include that her Webmaster harness made caring for her in her last month much easier. It was less stressful for her and for us because we could easily lift her down the steps outside and steady her when she walked. We miss her, but her harness will be passed down (if it fits!) to our next dog.

I bought two WebMasters when I was training GSDs for search and rescue, and found them sturdy and very effective. (If you need a harness for lifting dogs by ropes, get the Doubleback instead!) When I needed a harness for mobility assistance due to a neurological disease, I decided to try to use my WebMaster. With proper training and the right size dog, it provides excellent support for me and is lightweight and comfortable for my service dog to wear all day. Alternate mobility for me is leg braces and forearm canes, or wheelchair--so I need a high level of support from a harness. Harness has enough space for two 3" patches, which I recommend gluing on instead of sewing. My harness is wearing out from years of hard use, and I wish black was still an available option.

Fantastic! Absolute "Must Have"

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

As you can see in the linked picture(s), I use the heck out of the Ruffwear web-harness'. I bought them, they were not discounted nor given to me BTW. All of my working dogs are Rescue. I put them in a harness and (A) I can easily identify them from a distance when I am working with them and (B) On-Lead they can pull, run, twist and otherwise act silly. Despite that, due to the clever design and truly "RUFF" RuffWear, I still maintain a 100% control of the "Trainees" ... and ever so gently and safely. I have also been able to apply a quik line-yank to get one out of the way of a charging Cow or Ewe, something that often happen when a "bossie" sees a canine not heretofore recognized to be part of the "accepted" pack of protector. The center-of-balance tie-in make it more like liftig them out of the way, albeit rather quickly. I haven't tried to clean these but have had them soaking wet in the rain. My point is that, as dirty as they are, month after month, and oh, they can get messy in things other than mud, point is that they are built tuff. If the link come through then you will see on these pages and Titus' pages (early) just how useful this design is. And I searched high and low .. there are no knock-offs and nothing comes close to ease and control. When you get yours, get a chalk-bag mine is from my rock climbing) put some tiny treats, pea-size, in there but make sure the dog likes them .. then don't feed that treat except when harness-in-up. The trick is to get that off-leg, lifted and through BEFORE I get my face washed a hundred times by friendly dog tongue. The first three to five times I need rag. But each time I get leg through and buckle pushed in, I "CLICK" and give instant one-treat and tickle tummy. I'll betcha about 8 to 10 times and Trainee liftes that leg out of excitement when you get down on a knee to put the harness on. Harness means work .. work is fun and rewarding .. bwing harnessed means a Win-Win treat every time ...can't go wrong. We call it "Clicker Training" "5" Stars for the RuffWear Web-Master 10 stars if they had it listed. I pressed their rating Stars but nothing ever happened. http://www.denstarfarm.us/Denstar%20Web/Trash/LGD/Augustus-5.html#Latest

Wonderful

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

Becca had a spinal injury during an AKC trial and became paralysed. The harness helped me to move and pick her up until she was able to walk again. Great product and real back saver, hers and mine.
