The Web Master Harness really gives you a handle on your dog. Built for assisting our canine companions up and over obstacles, it makes everything easier - from crossing turbulent creeks, to scrambling over rocks, to providing assistance to a rehabilitating dog.
Strategically placed, continuous webbing wraps around the dog's body to provide full support. Elasticity at strap origin points accommodates unrestricted movement and comfortable breathing. Belly and ribcage strap pads have a surface texture that resists foxtail and fur collection. And everything is streamlined: buckles are sheltered, sliders take up strap slack - there's less to dangle or snag.

Fits my 35lb pup very well. The straps and buckles tuck nicely out of the way. The other harness Tilly wears has an exposed buckle that could conceivably get bashed on a rock and unbuckle. The low-light visibility is not great.

Our service dog had a harness when we got her but it never stayed straight. It kept tilting ton one side or the other, which doesn't sound like a big deal however when the patches need to be read for people to leave her alone etc. it needs to be the correct way. This one stays where it is supposed to, it also give me the extra leverage I need when placing her in a vehicle that she doesn't think she can make the jump up. Some of the best parts are that there is a lot of room to put patches on both sides so that you get less intrusive questions. I like having the V ring in the harness as well since our daughter has the primary lead but the adult needs the second at times and it just give you that extra little control so neither the child or the dog run off. The only thing extra I would like to see is detachable bags for storage. With a service dog you quite often need to carry water bottle, food bowl, etc. and it is so much easier to have the dog carry it. I have recommended it to our trainer and suggested he start using these vests instead of the other ones.

I love this harness for my dog. My dog seems to get out of every harness there is on the market. I have searched high and low to find something she could not get out of. This may be the one! The fact that is has a quick pickup handle is excellent too. The only advice I would offer this company for improvement is to make the sizes run in with one another. I had measured her correctly, but she falls in a category that is just between the lines. I ended up returning the first harness and purchasing a different size. I had to do some tricks to adjust it to fit right. Otherwise I would highly recommend this product and company. I plan to shop here again.

This is a terrific harness and really helps my senior & arthritic dog get around a bit easier. My only complaint is that I would like a slightly longer (taller) handle so that I could give him support more easily without having to stoop over myself. I guess the other alternative is for him to get taller, which is not going to happen.

This harness has quality materials and is sturdy. However, we have a big dog, very big and with his weight and these smaller straps going under his chest and abdomen, it's cutting into him a little too much. The other thing which is most annoying is that the strap that comes from the chest plate and what you put the front girth through is nearly too small and is a struggle to get it through. Why make that such a tight fit or at least make it to where it is velcro and you don't have to slip the girth through it but you can put that strap around the girth and fasten it with velcro.

LOVED IT!!!

I love love LOVE this harness! I had originally purchased the Palisades Pack for my girl, but despite being size small the pack was HUGE on her, so I gave it to her brother and ordered her just the Web Master Harness.
She's short and kind of long and he is tall and super skinny but both are size small. All the straps allow you to get a super snug and secure fit, I have no fear either would be able to wiggle their way out of it. The padding makes it comfortable for long wear and lifting should they need assistance. It's also super reflective, which is great for bike ridding.
I've taken them hiking, to the beach, bike riding and mud running and this harness is still ready for more! I let it dy out and sort of just brush it off, all the dirt just comes right off and it's good to go!

We just love your vest. My dog Brittany has a disc problem in her neck and was hospitalized because she couldn't walk on her back legs,
they used your vest at the Animal Hospital to walk her. As she is recuperating they suggested we purchase this to help us walk her. We did and it is the best thing we have ever purchased she doesn't mind
wearing it and the "handle" on the back makes it so easy to get her up and down the stairs. I am thinking about ordering a red one next.
Brittany is walking very well now but we will always use this vest to
walk her. I am going to suggest it to my friends. GREAT PRODUCT.

Life Saver
Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!
Our 13 year old German Shepherd wears this harness 24/7. Being an old shepherd her back legs aren't what they used to be. She could no longer walk up the stairs and hated being downstairs by herself! After a few nights of sleeping in the living room with her, we got the harness. We actually tried 3 (thanks to our wonderful friend and Hollys foster mom Judy). One was very expensive....about 3-4 times this one....but did not work well for us at all. This harness allows us to give. A little "lift" help going up but also give support and slows her down going down the stairs so she doesn't lose her footing and fall. I would recommend this harness to ANYONE!

We wanted this as a safetyharness in the car.
Since her rib cage is 105 cm we choose the size L. Well it's a tight fit, it's just a bit too small would have fitted better if we had more possiblilties to widen the front straps a bit more.I'm not sure if it's all that comfortable for her , it seems to be too close to her frontlegs ( armpits).
We are happy with how it looks and that we can now transport her in a safer way.But we would love to see the Web Mater Harness in XL so Great Danes can wear them comfortably too !

OUTSTANDING!
Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!
My son Kevin Klingensmith bought our Springer Scooby a Web Master harness in June 2011. Scooby is our escape artist and roll in the mud, have fun dog. With the exception of walk and house time, he wears his Web Master 24/7. With Scooby's ability to squeeze through holes and climb fences, he stays in the yard on his trolley system and Web Master.
So after 21 months of daily use, it is finally time to replace the Web Master! And not because it broke either. It's finally showing the wear and I don't want him escaping.
Just to be clear on how durable the Web Master has been, I have had to replace the steel cables of the trolly system 3 TIMES in that same 21 months.

This halter is wonderful! My dog is very active and loves to run, hike, and climb trees. The handle is great! She is also very strong, and much of her pulling stopped when I put this harness on her. She loves it too, since it is very comfortable. She is also an escape artist, but the the third strap prevents her from slipping out. It also works great in the car. I use it as a seatbelt halter, so that she is safe and secure.

Substantial harness. Just didn't work for us
Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!
Our Sadie is an escape artist. We purchased the Web Master Harness after reading many glowing reviews. When the first harness arrived it appeared sturdy and well made but within 1 day Sadie had destroyed the strap that joins to the triangle at the front and down over the chest. We contacted customer service and they were very, very helpful. We received a second harness but had the same difficulty with the this one. The front strap isn't secured well enough to the triangle to prevent our escape master from ripping it out. We think that for normal dogs that this is a well made, attractive harness. The strap around the tummy as well as the chest is secure. We appreciate the company's effort to satisfy our dog but it just didn't work for us.

Murphy is a tripod who has also had hip replacement surgery. He was fitted for the harness before he left the clinic after the THR. I can't imagine how we would have handled taking him out to potty or walking around the yard without it. He has to be monitored closely for the next three months, and this harness allows us to regulate his speed (way slower than he would like) without pulling him by the collar. We have also been able to keep him from stumbling or falling, which is of prime importance in this part of his recovery.

It's tricky to get on and off at first, but after a few times it's a piece of cake now. This is the best designed harness available. Miracle Product!
Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!
This harness was a "Sweet 16" present for our 16 year old Golden Retriever, JR. I can't even begin to describe how much it has changed his and our lives. It helps him on walks (huge difference), up and down the single step to go outside, and most importantly: it helps him squat to poop, which had become nearly impossible for him. We were beside ourselves not knowing how to help him before we got this harness. He resisted wearing it at first but now he pushes his head right through the head hole when we hold it in front of him. THANK YOU! (We will also be trying the double back - it looks much harder to get on and off). We've only had this for two weeks and he is already MUCH more confident!

I am so thrilled with this harness. My dog is the "houdini" dog that is so often talked about on dog forums, and she is able to get out of every harness imaginable. I have tried everything under the sun, and was so excited when I got the harness. Not only is she not able to escape from the harness, but it is safe and durable. She even helps me put it on when it's time to go for a walk! I highly suggest this product for anyone who wants a good, sturdy harness that is safe for both the owner and the dog.

This harness is the best
Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!
When we adopted Daisy back in 2005 we bought this harness. It's the best.
It is still in good shape. But...I ordered a new harness for her through Three Dog Bakery because Daisy is my mudder and I just can't get her old harness clean enough. She will wear the old one when we hike and on rainy days. The new harness will be for special events and for dry days. She went from a black harness to the gray. Our other beagle wears the red one. You just can't go wrong with this harness. It has a handle, it's made well and it will last forever. I will order a new harness for my other beagle later. Louise's harness is only 4 years old but it is getting muddy too. After awhile "spot cleaning" just doesn't work for me. If you could see Daisy's harness now, you would agree....but she sure has fun.

But when grown out and fluffy, he needs the Medium. My only problem with the harness, is that if he gets to the harness before I do, the plastic buckles (clasps) are toast with just one bite. If I knew I could SECURELY replace just the buckles, I would, but I don't have that confidence. So I now have to order a small and a medium and keep them out of his reach. This is not a fault of the product, this is my fault and a dog with boundless energy for trouble. I do wish there was just a small pack/ pocket on this for say my keys, my ID, poo bags, cell phone etc.

In January of 2010 I used this harness on my 85# lab/mastiff mix as we were backpacking in the Linville Gorge Wilderness in North Carolina. We were caught by a flash flood overnight and had to be pulled out by a S&R team, through the flooded river. This harness allowed my dog to be pulled across the rushing water and back to safety. I'm confident that if he wasn't wearing this harness he wouldn't be with me here today. I have used this harness many times since and will never hesitate to trust my dog's life to it. As a veterinarian I see many different harnesses everyday and I have yet to find one that I would trust more than this. I am eager to need a new one so I can try out the Doubleback Harness though! Hands down the best harnesses I have come across today. Murphy says thanks too!

My dog Ralphie had become an escape artist. I was no longer able to take him out for walks or car rides b/c he'd gotten out of his collar, prong collar, gentle leader and harness. Someone recommended this harness to me.
I finally have something my houdini dog can't escape from (and he's tried!) This morning he walked right into the harness because he knows we're off for fun when he's in it. He's easy to control on a leash. (He also has issues from an abusive background before his rescue so I like not controlling him on his neck.)
It was easy to adjust and looks like it's going to last a while.
Great product and I highly recommend.

The XXS Web Master Harness is a perfect fit. She's tried to slip this one, but there is no way out. Perfect for any scared dog or those escape artists! We also got the Knot-a-Leash with the locking clip. Perfect combination. Highly recommend.

I bought this for hiking with our rescue. She loves to pull and was getting horrible chafing from her other harnesses. I feel like I have good control of her as we hike and last weekend I was able to easily give her an assist over a challenging water crossing by grabbing on to the handle on the harness itself. Also, as a Vizsla she is thick chested but skinny in the waist and I had no problem adjusting the harness to fit her perfectly.

I looped a lead through front and back supports by handle, this way I can support her and take some of the weight bearing off her and she just keeps on going.... She loves it. I highly recommend for any dog with mobility issues. Thx Susan

When I bought these harnesses I thought I was getting way more harness than I needed. Boy was I wrong. We were heading to Tahoe, and my rat terrier is quite the puller, so I got these harnesses to avoid her choking herself out. Turns out, we ended up going on a couple technical hikes, and I was very lucky to have them in these harnesses. I was able to lift them up and down with no problem. The harnesses were comfortable for the dogs...not once did they attempt to try and bite or chew at their harness (THAT in itself says a lot about the harnesses!)....The harnesses didn't rub or wear the fur off the babies....the dogs didn't seem to even notice they were wearing harnesses. And when I used the handles to pcik them up, lift them down, the dogs were not in any discomfort...the harnesses fit properly...In fact, after liiftng my poodle mix off a few boulders, he decided it was great fun and pretty much started protesting at jumping off the slightest decline. He wanted to be lifted down! (Had to break him of that habit in a hurry)!...The Web-Master is a great harness and I am VERY happy I made the investment!

Love the harness!
Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!
I purchased this for Harvey's first backpacking trip earlier this year. He's too small a dog (16 pounds) to carry anything, but I liked the idea of the harness and decided to give it a try. What a great product! I refer it to it as Harvey's "adventure vest." The XS harness fits him perfectly, and even after 12-mile dayhikes he seems quite comfortable in it and has no hotspots. He's not much of a water dog, so it's great to be able to carry him across water crossings using the top handle-- kind of like a furry little suitcase. And the red color makes him easy to spot among the bushes and rocks.

I am a search and rescue K-9 handler and use this harness on my dogs when working from boats. They are great. I have purchase four over the years. Not because they wear out but because of changes in dogs and to take advantages of improvements in the harness's design. The harness is snug enough not to get in the dogs way if he falls or jumps from the boat and also is strong enough and provides the hand holds we need to get the dog back in the boat. Keep up the quality work Ruffwear.

Just what we needed!
Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!
We needed a really sturdy, well made harness for our previously easy-to-walk-on-a-lead lurcher as she was going through a phase of trying to pull herself out of her collar, often near roads. Since she's been wearing the harness she's been much better; she knows she can't get away now so doesn't bother to try. The fit is perfect - although only pint-sized, Popper has a big chest (27") and a small waist (16"), but the small size harness has enough adjustment to accommodate her vital statistics! (The only slight problem with the design are the buckles, which I find difficult to open as they are pretty much covered by fabric.)

I rarely complete product reviews but this Harness warrants praise. I have two harnesses from other makers that are well made but not well designed and not as useful to the dog with weak hindquarters. This harness is properly designed and works helping the senior canine up and down stairs, into a vehicle, onto the bed. The rear support is properly placed under the dog so it works on male and female canines. A must buy for the elder canine.

This is a very well thought out, well made harness, that we can (with saftey in mind) scramble about many types of terrain with our buddies. One dot is thick throughout his torso, the other thick behind front legs, but tapers (think like a whippet) towards his back legs on his underside. The straps adjust well, to make fit a non-issue.

I purchased two of these harnesses in order to take some of the pressure off of my dogs' necks. They are strong and on the rare occasion that they are not obeying, I did not like yanking on their necks. I was a little worried they would have more power with these harnesses, since the leash is attached in center of their backs, but so far they are working fabulously. I have just as much control, and once you get the harness fitted correctly, it is easy to put them on and take them off. It took them a little while to get used to havig so much of their backs covered, but they know now, that when I pick up the harnesses, it is time for a walk!

well constructed
Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!
I purchased this product because my 14 year old German Shepherd was having mobility issues. He injured his spine in 2009 and had a stroke last August which has left him with a weakened hind end. This harness is well constructed and solid, while being flexible and soft enough to avoid irritating him. Unfortunately, it doesn't extend far enough back on his body to give adequate support for his hindquarters. Also, since he balances and supports himself primarily on his front legs, I have to have him lie down to put the harness on since he can't balance to step into it and has super ticklish front paws so he keeps pulling them away. Overall a great piece of equipment, but not the best for these circumstances.

We were looking for a harness that was padded, and that would stay on during the playing / wrestling sessions.
Pros:
- Dogs can pull, play around, wrestle, their harnesses stay on.
- It’s nicely padded so no more rubbing and cuts.
- Handle is an added bonus which has been great to lift the dogs in and out of the car, and above obstacles on hikes.
Somewhat cons:
- It takes some time to get the straps set to the correct fit. But once they’re set, the buckles stay nicely in place, which is great.
- I wish a similar product existed with slightly less material or more breathable material: It can get quite hot during the hikes and while the WebMaster has been great for Spring time, it’s a bit too heavy for Summer.
Overall, great product: very sturdy, and will keep your escape artist in check. Enjoy!

Pricey, but of Quality.
Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!
I bought one of these for both of my dogs, they do not need assistance of any sort, but my older dog the Rotty/Lab has a mild occasional issue with his back legs that I fear will get worse as he is already 11, so for him it was for future use, but I use it on him now.
For the Beagle/Lab I got it because she is a puller and the regualr collars were choking her, if she would see a dog she'd get so excited she'd choke herself pretty badly, so I hoped this would help keep from choking her, and so far it has done just that.
It is not great for actually controlling the dogs, but sop far they do better while wealking with them on rather than the regular collar/leashe.
My only gripe is that as you walk them, unless they stay directlt in front of you, the harness will be pulled saideways on them, whcih bugs me so I always find myself having to catch up to them and fix them.
I also agree the medium front straps could use another inch, one of my dogs has tight front straps, but I stuck with medium in fear the large/x-large would be too big.
Final words, buy Ruffwear guys and gals, they have quality made products, I have a pair of Bark'n Boots that I got for one of the dogs that has feet problems, the boots fall off on occasion if not tight enough, but they have lasted me almost 2 years of occassional useage, I also own a cloud chaser jacket that has lasted as long as the boots.

We bought this harness to use on our dog that had ACL surgery. The convenience of being able to pick him up with it has made it easier for me and my back to manuever him up and down stairs when needed. The fit seems a little small around his neck until he gets wet. The front straps could use an extra inch of length for better adjustment but otherwise it fits well. He does not like to sit with it on and prefers to lay down. I believe this is because of the back strap in between his ribs and privates so I am not sure I would leave this on him for a long time because of that. But it does a good job of supporting him while picking him up with it. I have recommended this product to anyone needing extra support for their dogs. I think it would fit a bigger dog better, we bought the extra small for Kota.

S.P. is a short, fat, strong dog. He loves his walks but cant wear a collar due to a neck injury and most harnesses dont provide enough control or are uncomfortable. I decided to try this harness after seeing a couple of dogs wearing it. My biggest issue is sizing. I ordered a medium and was actually sent a large by mistake which was ok b/c I was on the fence about sizing. He's exactly 32" and the large was way to big. The medium is up to 32" and seems to fit just right, in some areas. I specifically do not like that the last strap under the belly rubs against his "manhood" I also had trouble with it fitting around the neck/ chest area. After a 20min fitting we decided to try it out on a walk. He's a puller and this harness definately didnt help that issue but I didnt expect it to. However as he was pulling I noticed the metal loop where you clip the leash seemed to be under a lot of stress. I was very worried it was going to snap and he would get lose. After a 4mile walk at about 7pm (late enough for it to be cooler) he seemed to start over heating. We stopped to take a rest break and he fell over. He is not use to wearing such a harness and perhaps it was causing him to over heat? Luckily there was a near by sprinkler park and I tried to use the handle to help support and assist him in walking over to the water in order to cool down but the handle seemed to not be able to hold his wear and the seam started to pop. I'm not sure if the medium is made for a lighter dog but it very much let me down in this situation. I was under the impression this harness was tough and great for outdoor adventures but it seemed to fall short. I like the idea and the construction seems like it would be great for a smaller dog but all in all this wasnt the harness for us.

The first one I ordered was too small, this one is a bit too large, but it works. Wilma is a shelter dog that has obviously been hurt in the past. Even though this one is a bit large, she hasn't been able to escape from it, and seems to enjoy going for walks with it.

This is the 6th (and last) harness I have purchased for Doc. He is a 70lb Cur with a huge chest which made fitting a harness crazy. Also living in FL we need a light harness that doesn't trap heat. The Web Master went on Doc with a few adjustments and just molds to his body. My wife trains for marathons with him and takes him out for at least 30 mi per week. Not only does the harness keep both of them safe, but he has zero rubbing and over heating is not an issue. This is the single best piece I have bought for my dog.

I purchased this harness as a last ditch effort to help my 15 year old labrador by being able to offer assistance without hindering him. He suffers from hip dysplasia and degenerative myalopathy and his balance and gait are extremely compromised. This harness gives him confidence again that I can keep him from falling but isn't as cumbersome as others we have looked at. It is also easy to leave on him without worrying about it being too hot or compromising his ability to urinate. This harness has made a huge difference in his quality of life and, at his age, that is a true blessing! It is also durable enough that, as my other dogs age, I'll be able to have it on hand for them as well!

Our aging Doberman needed a harness since he has trouble getting up off the ground. We had tried several other brands with only moderate success. The WebMaster harness has been an excellent purchase, offering balanced support from the chest through the under carriage. Well engineered, using top grade materials, which shows as a soon as you have the product in hand. We have had the harness for two years and at this point, Ralph sleeps with it on and it doesn't seem to bother him. RuffWear makes accessories for active dogs, but in our case, this product was a perfect match for dog rehabilitation. I highly recommend it.

I have mostly good, but one irritant! I apparently recieved the "old" model a month ago but the sizing was off, so got the new medium and felt the sizing was more precise for my greyhound. However, the "padding" for the tummy and chest have been down-sized and less cushion all over! The old model had a fleece inner liner on the strap pads and were wider. Better for my sleek, delicate long-legged girl. Also, the top handle is not longer a handle but a flatter piece of the harness. I'm looking for the old model in a medium now. It will be useful to help her up her new ramp for the SUV, once I get one with ample padding!

Have tried a few different harnesses and this by far is the best I've tried so far. The reflective trim is great , tow-loop is great for roller-blading and it dosen't really slide around on the dogs back (which all my other harnesses would). Only suggestion I have is to add a few stitches to straps after being sized properly due to straps loosening a bit when they're wet.

Best harness for any amount of money
Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!
We went to Alaska in 2010 and took both the dogs. Since we were drove, the Webmaster harnesses came in especially handy. We used them to lift the dogs in and out of the car and to secure them while in the car. In camp the harnesses were comfortable enough for the dogs to sleep in and also gave us extra grab points in the event that one of the dogs decided to try to nose out of the zipper door (I recommend heavy paperclips to prevent this).
The harnesses performed way better than we expected. The dogs wore them almost 24x7 for five weeks with no rubbed off fur, no damage to the harnesses and no discomfort for the dogs. Of course we inspected the dogs daily for ticks, etc, but when we were not staying in a motel, the dogs were in their harnesses.
The harnesses have the added bonus of looking cool and people will ask you about your dogs.
The ONLY thing I wish it had is a light weight cover for their chest and belly to keep things from sticking in their fur.
At home the harnesses are our everyday dog walking gear and come in very handy when we take the dogs to the drive in with us. Tippy gets extremely excited at the sight of hers.
I'm very sad to say that Keller recently passed at age 18 but I wanted to include that her Webmaster harness made caring for her in her last month much easier. It was less stressful for her and for us because we could easily lift her down the steps outside and steady her when she walked. We miss her, but her harness will be passed down (if it fits!) to our next dog.

I bought two WebMasters when I was training GSDs for search and rescue, and found them sturdy and very effective. (If you need a harness for lifting dogs by ropes, get the Doubleback instead!)
When I needed a harness for mobility assistance due to a neurological disease, I decided to try to use my WebMaster. With proper training and the right size dog, it provides excellent support for me and is lightweight and comfortable for my service dog to wear all day. Alternate mobility for me is leg braces and forearm canes, or wheelchair--so I need a high level of support from a harness. Harness has enough space for two 3" patches, which I recommend gluing on instead of sewing.
My harness is wearing out from years of hard use, and I wish black was still an available option.

Fantastic! Absolute "Must Have"

As you can see in the linked picture(s), I use the heck out of the Ruffwear web-harness'. I bought them, they were not discounted nor given to me BTW. All of my working dogs are Rescue. I put them in a harness and (A) I can easily identify them from a distance when I am working with them and (B) On-Lead they can pull, run, twist and otherwise act silly. Despite that, due to the clever design and truly "RUFF" RuffWear, I still maintain a 100% control of the "Trainees" ... and ever so gently and safely. I have also been able to apply a quik line-yank to get one out of the way of a charging Cow or Ewe, something that often happen when a "bossie" sees a canine not heretofore recognized to be part of the "accepted" pack of protector. The center-of-balance tie-in make it more like liftig them out of the way, albeit rather quickly.
I haven't tried to clean these but have had them soaking wet in the rain. My point is that, as dirty as they are, month after month, and oh, they can get messy in things other than mud, point is that they are built tuff. If the link come through then you will see on these pages and Titus' pages (early) just how useful this design is. And I searched high and low .. there are no knock-offs and nothing comes close to ease and control.
When you get yours, get a chalk-bag mine is from my rock climbing) put some tiny treats, pea-size, in there but make sure the dog likes them .. then don't feed that treat except when harness-in-up.
The trick is to get that off-leg, lifted and through BEFORE I get my face washed a hundred times by friendly dog tongue.
The first three to five times I need rag. But each time I get leg through and buckle pushed in, I "CLICK" and give instant one-treat and tickle tummy.
I'll betcha about 8 to 10 times and Trainee liftes that leg out of excitement when you get down on a knee to put the harness on.
Harness means work .. work is fun and rewarding .. bwing harnessed means a Win-Win treat every time ...can't go wrong.
We call it "Clicker Training"
