Bark'n Boots™ Grip Trex™ & Rub Spots

Q: I purchased the Bark'n Boots™ Grip Trex™ for my canine companion. I noticed that the boots are causing sores on my canine companion's paws. What should I do?

A: Ruff Wear recommends that you allow the boots a break in period so they will conform to your canine companion's paw. After you are certain that the boots fit correctly, use them for short trips to the dog park or leash walks. After use, please carefully inspect your companion's paws to ensure that the boots are not rubbing the fur or pads. Typically rub spots are caused by an incorrectly sized boot, a boot not properly adjusted or a boot that has not been given adequate time to break in.

If you notice any rubbing or sore spots caused by the Bark'n Boot™ Grip Trex™, please stop using the boot and allow the paw to heal. We recommend the use of our boot liners to cushion and protect the paw from any abrasion that might occur. Just like if you were to wear shoes without socks, you would probably develop a sore or rub spot; the same thing happens to some dogs who wear our boots without the boot liners.

In most instances the boot liners can correct any issues with rubbing or sore spots. However, if you find that your canine's paws are extra sensitive and continue to have problems with rubbing or sores please contact Customer Service at 888-7833932 for a refund.
